If you love or even like your dog do NOT bring them here for any reason. I brought my one year old cockapoo in today for his first grooming, he had some matting behind his ears but besides that he just needed a bath. I dropped him off at 9:30am and they left him sitting until around noon. At 12:45 I got a nonchalant call from the front desk saying my puppy had a " nickel sized hole cut into his ear and would need to be seen by a vet". The staff workers begrudgingly answered my questions about what had occurred and seemed absolutely unfazed by the injury, leading me to believe that this is not a rare occurrence. My puppy had to get stitches all alone at the vet due to covid 19 rules. He has to take a strong antibiotic for 10 days and the vet also said he had signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration. When I dropped him off they assured me he would be safe, in a controlled temperature room, and would have access to water. This was all a lie. Today the temperature reached 95 degrees and I can only assume the dogs at this facility were left outside or in an un air conditioned room without access to water for extended periods of time. When we arrived at the vet, he also found cuts on my dog that they hadn't told us about under his ears. The vet was easily able to remove the matts behind his ears and said that this was negligence on the employees parts. They didn't even begin to remove the matting or bathe him in any way, this means that after they left him sitting for hours they immediately cut his ear and sent him home...This was my dogs first experience being away from our family and he is traumatized to say the least. My family were looking for a place for our two pups to stay on an accelerated timeline due to a family funeral, and after a fair amount of searching I found the red dog inn and resort. One of our pups is reactive and so it can be hard to find a place ready to handle him, but the folks here were fantastic!!! Not only did they handle our reactive dog fantastically, but the pups got to do play time together, and got full grooming afterwards. Our pups haven't had their claws this neatly trimmed in a long time, and the experience was fantastic! I will never leave my dog for services here again. It was odd that we could not go into the building but wrote it off as COVID precautions. After boarding my dog came home extremely stressed and not herself. Same situation after grooming. This is a happy go lucky golden who enjoys the vet. Lol Additionally the last 2 times we scheduled the grooming they kept delaying when she would be ready and then did not do all the services we asked for. I wish i could rate this place negative stars. Every single time my dogs have come out with cuts, burns, or were limping and i had to bring them to the vet right after. This last time we finally called to ask what they were doing with our dogs and how they were handling them and I was basically being gas lit. My dogs were always perfectly fine before going and always seemed like they got beat up and neglected while being there. This place seriously needs to be investigated and shut down. Left my dog here while we were on a short vacation. I got him groomed on his way out and was told by the woman on the desk there is powder between his legs because he was chafing from running and playing so much??? I thought this was very odd. I brought him home and he had a repulsive rash on his "boys" (he is still in tact). He was bleeding and there was puss as well. Not a pretty sight. I called my breeder who told me it's from sitting in cleaning solutions that weren't rinsed and it is a chemical burn or most likely from sitting in his own urine. I called this place after I took him to the vet told them what had happened they told me it wasn't there fault yelled and hung the phone up on me. He is ok now other than some scaring a 200 dollar vet bill and 2 weeks of me trying to chase him around and spray him with solution from the vet. PLEASE AVOID THIS BOARDER AND SEEK OTHER ARRANGEMENTS. read more

We have used the Red Dog Inn to border our not so easy and anxious dog the last two summers while on family vacations. They were gentle and kind to our labradoodle and were even able to groom her. It is the only place our family will board and groom our pet. We are SO thankful for Lauren, one of the exceptional care givers there. Our dog bonded with Lauren and the care and patience she gives to the pets at RDI is evident from the greeting our dog gives her upon seeing her and the pictures they post with Lauren online. We've taken our German shepherd mix three times over the course of a couple of years when we go on vacation and can't take her with us. Each time we left her for about a week. The staff is friendly and even though it was about a year between visits, some of the staff actually remember her and she remembered them. Last time was over Christmas time and she ran to one of the handlers without even so much as looking back at us. I would suggest paying a little extra for your pet to get some extra walks and play time. One other benefit that we noticed is that she seems to be better around other dogs when we take her for walks. read more

We took our yellow lab there for the first time this year over the Holiday and we really liked them! We were nervous to leave the dog overnight because she was a rescue and hasn't been away from us since we got her a few weeks ago prior. The people at the front desk were super nice and gave us a tour, which I really appreciated! A week ago, I got a great "report card" for my dog from her stay. I thought it was such a great touch and really impressed me! The card said that she did great, ate well and made friends, which made me so happy! I wish someone would have told me all of that though, when I picked her up, so I could have known right away! Also, they offer a great service where you can trade up your last day of board (for a little extra money) and do a 'grooming' instead. My dog still smells good :) It was the first kennel I've ever seen, so it seemed small to me, but maybe that's how they are all! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants their dog in a clean, safe and friendly environment! The Red Dog Inn is an amazing daycare with a staff who will love and care for your pet with a level of service that surpasses expectations. My husband and I have a very energetic young male pup who is hesitant around strange people and places, but he pulls us excitedly into the RDI when we pull into the parking lot. When we first were considering different daycares, the RDI was incredibly accommodating. They gave us a tour of the facilities, met with our dog, and endured our nervous check-in calls. Now our dog is a regular and visits about once a week for daytime play and usually once a month for an overnight stay. We were happy to win a gift certificate here and were SO impressed the first time we went. We were even willing to drive the 30" to and from for both drop off and pick up later that day. Our pup got a beautiful teddy bear cut and looked and smelled like a new dog when he left. We went back a few months later for a follow up, and came back shocked to find him completely shorn! Wasn't even fluff around the snout or tail! In addition, his mouth was crusted with black stuff under his jaw. It didn't smell like he had been bathed, either. I was extremely unhappy with the people at Red Dog. I left my two dogs there for our vacation. I paid for a bath and groom before I picked them up . Not only did they not do what I asked - trim the end of their tails - they just didn't care when I pointed it out, and refused to do it as they had other dogs. It would have taken 10 seconds. They were fully aware of the fact that our male was elderly, and had a hard time walking. When I discussed it with them, they assured me it wouldn't be a problem. They actually called us - IN CALIFORNIA - and said to come get him because it was "too much trouble to walk him"!! They said they would leave him in his cage for the duration of his stay. They were so nasty. What did they expect me to do? We came home early as I was sick at the thought of him being neglected. My female threw up for two days after I got her home because she was so stressed. In all of this, the thing that had me the most upset was the attitude. The woman at the front desk acted like we had tried to put something over on her, and was so incredibly rude. I absolutely would never use them again. read more

I dropped off my 10-month-old puppy to get a grooming this morning (she has been two times prior). I came back around the time that they told me she would be ready-2 o'clock. When I arrived to pick her up they told me that they forgot to perform her grooming. She was in her crate that whole time while I was working thinking she was getting groomed (they told me they let her out to pee/poop-but how do I know that if they said they didn't know she was there)?!! Be careful taking her here as they may forget to groom your dog as well...not very reliable at all. read more

We take our dog here whenever we go away for more than a couple of days. We know he is always in excellent, capable hands. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of add-on options, so it doesn't have to be expensive. We like to sign up our dog for treats every day, and exercise. A heaven for dogs! My friend's dog have his day care at red dog inn and resort every day and we can see the changes happened to him! He was adopted so does not let any body touch him for a bath or nail cutting but surprisingly, the dog began to make friends with all the staff member here and become beloved by everybody! My weimaraner recently boarded at Red Dog and she seemed to love it. I was in the Boston area and in need of a place to take care of my dog. Because it was a last minute plan, a few more local places were already booked and I was at a loss so I called around to a few vet offices for suggestions. RDI was recommended by a few. I checked out the Yelp postings and was concerned by the older posts so I investigated a little more... RDI is very strict about having current vaccines- especially for kennel cough. They claim not to have had a kennel cough incident in the past few years. (IMO, these postings from 2006 and 2008 should be eliminated.) My dog stayed with them for 4 nights and seems well adjusted and perfectly content. RDI was always patient when I called to ask for updates and they offer quite a few a la carte activities for the dogs during their stay. Whatever they did, my high strung dog seems to have enjoyed her stay. Thank you! read more

Love this place so much, they took complimentary Valentine's day photos of our puppies when we left them for a week. I love that there is a VIP room so our puppies (which yes, are spoiled) have their own little spot to themselves. Unless you have a back up plan, do not leave your dog there if you have to go abroad ! Last August, there was an emergency and the place was not prepared. By chance we called to check on our dog, to find out that there was a virus, dogs were sick and some died and ours, was locked up and needed to be removed immediately.We were in Brazil. We manage to have a friend pick him up right away. But never heard from Red Dog Inn, no apologies, no explanations (we were clients for 3 years),no calls to find out if our dog was ok after being exposed, but they did charge our card for the days he was there. We have 3 dogs. When we need to go away---this is where they go. The staff is very nice and the boys come home happy when they have been there. I see a problem regarding kennel cough----please remember to have your animals up to date with their vaccines. I find that if you want extras while they are there they have plenty! If you have to come in and get nails cut, just call them and come in. They are very accommodating and do a great job of entertaining and caring for your pets. read more

We left our dog at the Red Dog Inn while we went on vacation and got a call half way through our vacation that we had to "pick our dog up immediately". She was urinating in her cage and her feet were raw allegedly from the urine. Fortunately my son was able to drive two hours to pick her up. As he was leaving the receptionist told him to "tell his mom that she was not welcome there anymore". He took her to the emergency clinic and the sores on her feet were not urine burns but simply wear from her pacing on wet floors. While our dog is high maintenance and probably was having urinary problems, the Inn had authority to take her to their vet if needed and given the fees they charge should have been able to deal with this without the attitude that the staff gave us. We're not welcome back anymore? Don't worry! If only dogs could talk. read more

Each and every time Taz has been cared for an played with as part of the "family". It's comforting and reassuring to know that Taz is with a great professional group of people. I've taken my two dogs to Red Dog Inn for grooming for years. I called for a Saturday appointment for my dog around 8 weeks prior to the appointment date, he is a cocker spaniel who I only get buzzed down and not the traditional cocker cut, When I arrived to check in at 9:20 (8-10 grooming check in) I was told he wouldn't be ready until 4. I grudgingly agreed to the time, although I thought 6 1/2 hours to groom a dog was really a long time frame. I was called at 3:30, stating they need a little more time because they were so busy and he wouldn't be ready until 5pm. I arrived at 4:50, hoping to get him a little bit earlier. He still wasn't finished and they needed another 10-15 min. At this point I'm a little ticked off! Almost 8 hours to groom him and the reasoning was they only had 2 groomers on and the manager told the people answering the phones to keep booking!!!! UNACCEPTABLE. If you didn't have the man power, than you shouldn't book so many grooming! And if you're not going to touch the dog until 3, then have me bring him in then. It's not a resort where he's lounging by a pool, he's in a crate for hours. Sorry to say it's the last time I'll use this place. Time to revamp your office skills and either book accordingly or get additional groomers. You may love your pets, but this isn't love to me, it's borderline abuse if you ask me. read more

The staff at Red Dog Inn are incredible! We've been bringing our dog there since he was a puppy. Even we we moved away for a period, we would always schedule an appointment when we were in the area. Our dog was extremely skittish when we first rescued him and they handled him perfectly for his first grooming and kennel stay. I was not the least bit worried about our skittish pooch when we dropped him off for the first time. They are extremely knowledgeable, caring, friendly and I know he is in the absolute best hands. My family has been going to Red Dog Inn for around 18 years, so i was excited when i got my first pup to be able to take him here. I was quickly upset with the treatment i received. i called to make my appointment and the women was incredibly sweet while i was booking, letting her know this was my "baby" and that it was tough leaving him for the first time, and she was very comforting. BUT a couple of days before leaving him, i called to confirm the reservation and a different staff member, young girl was extremely rude with an attitude and degrading that i was ready to not send him at all. but i was in a bind and had to keep my appt. luckily he was received by a friendly staff member. (2 weeks later) i had to leave him again (booked a few months out...dreading it, i picked him up after being away for 8 days and the lady was EXTREMELY unprofessional. I had heard that he chewed up the wooden bed in the room and had already heard the story on the phone but she went on to tell me AGAIN in person and in front of 5 other customers! i was getting very embarrassed. it would be like telling me my kid wet his pants and then showing me his wet clothes while other parents listened and watched on! my dog is a puppy and the women who told the story on the phone (tyna) was extremely sweet about it and said paying for the bed wasn't necessary that it happens all the time. just my luck that i didnt get tyna the day i picked him up and this staff member embarrassed me to the point i that i do not know if i will return. The tolerance isn't always there with the staff when there is extra work involved. it seems to be a 50/50 chance of getting outstanding service. so take your chance! read more

I brought my dog there last fall to be boarded for 4 days and when I got her home, she had no voice and had a red, raw bum. I immediately brought her to my vet who said it was from stress of being away from me. This bothered me as I paid extra to have her have "one-on-one" time with someone and her voice was so hoarse from constantly barking, which tells me they paid no attention to her. The Red Dog Inn has helped my family and I so much! I have an extremely hyper 2 year old pup named Presley. I brought him to a couple other daycares in the area and they told me was "too playful for the calmer dogs"..hello?! Dogs need to be GROUPED! Most places throw dogs together, the Red Dog Inn groups dogs by size, age, and temperament. They love him and treat him well, I have no worries each day at work. Other daycares told me he was "bothering" older dogs..why would a 2 year old be left to play with an older dog? Especially with his young puppy temperament. He was an also extreme chewer, and when other daycares told me he wasn't working out I felt lost because I work too long for him to be crated all day. Red Dog Inn saved the day and I can't thank them enough. read more

Inexcusable treatment! Brought my dogs in for grooming this AM. No other customers and while checking in Terry got a phone call which continued for over 10 minutes while I had to wait. When someone else came out to the reception area I asked if they could please help, explained that I had been waiting and was greeted w/ rolling eyes ( as if I was the problem!) Whatever happened to first come, first served? When I returned to pick up my dogs at the scheduled time I was made to wait for 52 minutes for their grooming to be completed. Yelp should not filter the reviews to show only good reviews about businesses. We had a dog go here for a while & he has become vicious & mean & has already bitten someone. Had I been able to see the not so nice reviews too, we wouldn't have take. Him there & have him being treated like a caged animal. They keep them locked up in dog pens inside. They don't allow the owners to see where they keep them but if you look thru the Windows from the parking lot as you walk up to the front door - you can see the pens. All you here is aggressive & fearful barking whenever you go into the lobby. They have a camera set up for the grooming only section but no where else. So no one can see where they keep their animals. That's bad business. Its wrong & I have seen & heard others coming to pick up their dogs - complaining about the treatment their dog receives on camera during grooming. One small dog even falling off the tab,e being hanged by the leash holder on the table. The owner was standing there watching it with me & went off about it. No one did anything about it. They complained the dog wouldn't hold still. They are not good for dogs. Plain & simple. Yelp really shouldn't be limiting the reviews. That's just as wrong as the ones doing bad business. read more

Boarded my 8 month old puppy here and on car ride home from picking her up she was coughing and puking up white phlegm. There is NO WAY no one saw her sick! She couldn't even bark and she is a barker! Called vet and took her in first thing next morning and was confirmed case of Kennel Cough. What makes me more angry is my vet said they had seen Several cases of this from the RDI and that they had informed RDI prior to me picking up my dog and that they should be warning clients. No one called me or mentioned anything at drop off or pickup! Took 3 phones calls for my husband to speak to the manager cause she was busy grooming. Really? Can't take 5 minutes to talk to a client whose dog is sick. My dog is now on 2 medication, not eating, has puked so many times I can't even count, can't bark and hasn't moved off her dog bed. They finally posted a Facebook status today even though they have know about this for who knows how long. According to the vet over a week. I understand kennel cough is common BUT NOT telling clients in over a week u have a outbreak is uncalled for! read more

It is way to expensive. There is no multidog discount and no price breaks whatsoever for loyal longtime customers. I also do not like the fact that you are not allowed to see where your pet is actuality kept. We have kept our dogs here for years but it is now time to shop around and find a place that is more cost effective and doesn't break the bank. A place that rewards for loyalty and provides access to see how your pets will be kept while you are away. read more
