We highly recommend Tim Smith (Summit Pet Sitting). For the first time ever, we have been truly able to RELAX while on vacation without worrying about our pets. Tim is exceptionally professional and responsible. We are cautious with our trust, and Tim has ours completely. We have four cute but rambunctious Pomeranians. We had been leaving them with the breeder from whom we got them during our trips, but for various reasons we began to doubt the level and quality of care they were receiving there. Here is a some detail on our experience with Tim: * Tim was highly rated on Care.com; a leading review site for pet sitters. * We invited him to our home for a free consultation; he showed up precisely on time. He was polite and pleasant. * He got along well with our dogs and they seemed very comfortable with him. * We asked about his background and learned that he had left a career as a computer programmer to take care of pets. Moreover, one of his reasons was that he had had a particularly negative experience with a pet-sitter with his own pet and wanted to provide a service that would be up to his own standards as a pet owner. * We called five of the ~40 references he provided, all of which provided consistently enthusiastic, even effusive, praise for Tim. Several delivered touching stories of how they had struggled with pet sitters and felt fortunate to have found Tim. Considering that we had selected these references randomly from such a long list, we felt the message was consistent and believable. * We left our dogs with Tim for 6 days. He texted us every evening with updates on how they were and what they had done that day. He sometimes sent us stories and cute pictures of the four of them. (We are still not sure how he got them to stay still for the photos, as we have never been able to get pictures as good as his.) * When we got back, Tim asked only for 5 days of payment and we had to insist on giving him 6 days' worth. * We feel great about leaving our dogs with Tim on our next trip. read more

I have been so pleased with Tim from Summit Pet Sitting - he's terrific! Having had some bad experiences with dog walkers in the past, I had some very high standards to meet. I interviewed several companies, but in my gut I knew this was the right organization for my two female beagles. From the moment Tim stepped into my home, he was completely professional, very focused on my dogs, and they loved him right away! Tim visits each time and does everything I asked to ensure both my girls and I are comfortable. They get a walk, dinner, treats, and lots of attention. I was leaving this past May for a 10 day vacation. A day before I was leaving my pet sitter cancelled. Yikes. And more Yikes!! After 17 phone calls and lots of suggestions I found Summit Pet Sitting. My prayers were answered. They immediately stepped up to the plate. Someone was at my home that evening to meet my 2 cats, Stuart and Rico and understand our routine. Stuart is 12 years old and a diabetic cat who requires 2 shots a day of insulin. Rico is 6 years old. This group at Summit Pet Sitting are true professionals by anyone's standard. I receive a daily worksheet everyday of their visit. They will bring in mail , water plants if you wish and the best of all clean the litter box daily. My cats seem to like them. Tim was awesome with my flock of 6 parrots when I went out of town. He'd never worked with parrots before, but stopped by twice before I went out of town to make certain that he understood their needs. The type of parrots I have are known for making a wheezing sound when they're stressed. While I was gone, Tim was kind enough to post pictures of a couple of the birds who couldn't look less stressed if I'd taken the picture myself. I appreciate all the advance time Tim put into getting to know their routine and making me feel confident enough that I barely thought about my precious pets while I was gone. Tim also provided me with daily notes on what occurred during his twice daily visits, which nearly made me feel like I didn't miss anything. We have been using Summit Pet Sitting for about 5 years, and never have had a issue In fact this the first time we can go on vacation & not worry about our cats. Summit Pet Sitting is A1!! Brett has been taking caring of our rescue dog (Lucy) for the past year. Lucy was very timid when we got her and needed some extra TLC. We did our research and Summit Pet Sitting was our best choice for sure! Lucy gets a 30 minute walk in the middle of the day when I am at work. I always get a note about the visit.
