I'm gonna rate this hotel between four and five stars. Everyone working there is pretty friendly. The breakfast in the little dining room downstairs in that restaurant are amazing. They have really great eggs Benedict.. The rooms are beautifully appointed if you get a I guess luxury room.. I did switch rooms on my second night. If I were you, I would not get a room on the side of the street because it can be a little bit noisy. But all in all just a beautiful hotel has a nice location. If you have a bunch of things you wanted to do like little restaurants and shows. read more

Such a great hotel with warm customer service, a great sitting area, and an "honesty bar" where you can help yourself to drinks but just have to sign out what you take (there is a camera so I'm not sure how much of an honor system this really is... but the idea is nice). The room and bed are very comfortable and the room service is great. The location cannot be beat - it is right near great coffee shops, restaurants, and the theater district. It is a bit hard to get to by car (small, windy roads) so I had trouble calling an uber, but just walk up to a main street to avoid this problem. 4 stars only because it's a bit pricey and I'm not sure you get full value for what you pay - but if you can afford it, treat yourself! read more

A wonderful hotel in a great area of London. Covent Garden is tucked away and filled with cool restaurants and shops. And supposedly, the best coffee (Manmooth coffee) is directly across the street. The hotel is easy walking to all the spots you need or want! As soon as you walk in you're in the London of your dreams, beautiful and quaint. Staff is lovely and in this time we are in, they made my stay perfect. I was in 115 and loved it. Right next to the Library and the famous Honestly Bar. It's a good test. But everything you could need for a proper happy hour or late nightcap. The restaurant is big and open. My server for dinner was George and we truly became friends. Food is outstanding! Always a huge fan of Firmdale properties - especially in the UK. I always enjoy my stay here as first and foremost this boutique hotel is situated in a primate location - steps away from the West End in one direction, Oxford Street and its amazing shopping in another direction and lastly the historic and fun Covent Garden in another direction. The property's main entrance off Monmouth Street is literally across from Neal's Yard which offers a cute narrow walkway through shopping and dining of every taste. Staff are always welcoming and informed and the rooms are super comfortable, usually quiet and always kept clean and cozy. Be sure to inquire about the room you are being assigned as there are a handful that I would be disappointed with (eg small windows, slanted ceilings in an attic like setting, interior rooms, etc). Not every room is the same and many, like I, have an exact preference. The dining on premises is a popular go to even if you aren't a guest and the bar is very pretty. I also love the central room on the second floor featuring an honor bar and food station. The pillow mist is a must btw. read more

This hotel is fantastic, 5 stars all the way. Best boutique we've stayed at in a while. The service is great -- friendly, attentive, and really well-informed (about the sites, restaurants, shows, etc). Our room was beautiful and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. The bathroom had a stand up shower as well as an oversized tub and an Aqua TV in the wall which made relaxing so great. On the 2nd floor there is a beautifully appointed lounge where we hung out for a while and next to it is "The Honesty Bar" where you help yourself to any drink (beer, wine, cocktails) and just write down what you had (they add it to your bill for checkout). The surrounding neighborhood is perfect, classic London Soho with tons of great shops, lovey food and great theatre options. read more

About 10 years ago, I was planning a trip to London. I can't remember the magazine I was reading--I'm sure it was something trashy, though, because it was talking about Liv Tyler making her latest movie and she was staying in the Covent Garden hotel while she was making the film. Well, she looked pretty hot lounging in her suite and I figured hey, if it was good enough for Liv it was good enough for me. I stayed at the Covent Garden 10 years ago and I've never looked back. The hotel is incredible--super nice rooms that they keep refreshing, I bet they have redone every room completely twice in the last 10 years, completely tasteful and continually updated, not like many hotels that wait until the rooms get tired until they repaint. The rooms are all unique and lovely to stay in. The highlight of the hotel is the library and honor bar. Being stuck in your room for downtime while traveling is pretty boring. But sitting in an overstuffed couch with a whiskey from the honor bar, reading your book while quiet conversations go on around you...that is fun! Good restaurant, with the best English breakfast in the world, and they mix a nice drink if you don't want to mix your own upstairs in the library. And the staff is wonderful and does not turn over too much--though I miss the old concierge Alban, he took great care of me for years. The only complaint is that the Covent Garden is very spendy, but hey, you find a cheap hotel in London, where you can walk to the theatre and that you want to stay in! After dinner at Homeslice we fancied something sweet, so settled on a table outside for cocktails & dessert. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, and offered to turn the outdoor heater on for us which was great. Unfortunately the food & drink really wasn't up to standard. My cocktail was around £15, and while it was OK I've definitely had better for the price. With so many bars in the area there are much better cocktail options in easy walking distance. We got a sharing plate for dessert, 2 of them were unremarkable and one was completely tasteless. A nice setting and service was good, but overall it wasn't worth the price tag. read more

We visited the Covent Garden Hotel for afternoon tea on the last day of our honeymoon. To make sure we wouldn't miss it, we called for reservations so we knew we'd have a spot. We promptly arrived at 3:30pm and were immediately seated at a cute little table. We ordered the standard afternoon tea with English breakfast tea and alerted our attentive server to my nut allergy and our vegetarian diet. They were more than accommodating and made sure to not give us anything we couldn't have - including leaving off the donuts because the jam was made with gelatin. They didn't miss a beat! We sipped on our tea before our glorious three tier tray arrived with a bottom layer of warm scones with butter and jam, a middle layer with finger sandwiches - egg salad on whole wheat and cucumber on white. The top and most decadent layer was filled with all of the nut free desserts my little heart desired. Although a little pricey at 28/person, it was worth it (especially compared to a lot of other places at 45+) since the tea and bottom two levels received complimentary refills and more that half of the first tier of desserts were left on both of our trays (and we got to take them home, too!). On top of all of that, the service was superb, the atmosphere was delightful, and the area was great for shopping afterward to walk off the calories. They even brought over a special dessert that read "Happy Honeymoon" and brought us two special drinks from the bar manager to celebrate. What a magical little boutique hotel the Covent Garden is. I just fell in love with it walking in the front door. The bellman helping me out of my car and into the hotel, the impeccable service began immediately, and continued through my entire stay. They got to know me here, I became like family for the week or so I was there. We stayed in the LOFT SUITE, the only loft in the 58 room hotel. The decor of the room was charming and chic, and luxury is found in every little detail: the linens, towels, toiletries, turn down service.. There are a variety of guest areas: the Drawing room, a private screening room, Tiffanys Library, Brasserie MAX, the gym and Beauty room, and last but not least, (my favorite area) The Honor Bar.. They also have a variety of private event rooms.. Room service is terrific, the food is always fresh and delicious. I really can't speak highly enough about the hotel, but I thoroughly recommend it! read more

For just £35/head you get two courses and a glass of wine (or three and a soft drink), plus a showing in their oh-so-cute cinema screening room downstairs. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, it's intimate and warm. Service was perfect, food excellent, and all for a bargain price. Book by email in advance, pay on the night. This is a cozy hotel that's well-situated just paces away from Covent Garden and Soho. The entrance is tucked away down Lodon's Monmouth Street, and to walk past it, you may very well think its sage green exterior and striped awning is just another of the tiny street's little boutiques. I stayed here about a year ago and found the place incredibly homey. Even walking the hall, with its beautifully patterned wallpaper and wonderful accent details, feels less like wandering a soulless hotel corridor, and more like wandering around the impressive house of a good friend. They call the style English contemporary, but I would call it traditional English that verges on English eccentric. Each room is different, but mine had an elephant theme... like an British explorer had gone off to India and brought back ideas for décor...elephant accent pillows and such. It was aesthetic, but probably not my favourite. The comforter, however, was amazing and the bathroom was resplendent with marble - lovely. The mini bar was also well-stocked... albeit with the rather pricey Voss water in the fridge! The fitness room here is small, but functional. And the downstairs bar is buzzing, but intimate enough for a private business meeting. My experiences with the staff were all pleasant. This is a wonderful hotel to choose if you're looking for a home away from home. read more

Took a week long work trip to London and this is where we stayed. Suffering from jet lag all week, our bodies finally adjusted on Saturday the day before we left. We had the opportunity to see an advance screening of Before I Go To Sleep in The Covent Garden Hotel's very own screening room. I didn't see much of the rest of the hotel, and I have no idea what it costs to stay there, but it all looked beautiful! The screening room was very spacious for a private event, and the red leather seats were comfortable, with plenty of leg room, (which is always a concern for me) My only criticism is that the height of the seat rows isn't staggered enough, meaning the top of the head of the person sat in front of you does encroach on the bottom of the screen, but you forget about it after a while and just enjoy the film. Great location as well, in the heart of the west end just off Shaftsbury avenue. The screening room was great- really comfortable red leather seats, with a very intimate feel for about 40 people. I can't review this whole hotel but I can say that it has a wonderful cinema room for about 60 people - who knew?! It's well located in Seven Dials, Covent Garden and the staff are friendly and helpful. It has really comfy seats in the cinema room and it's probably been the most comfortable I've been watching a film. However, the drinks are pricey - £3 for a small lemonade. The toilets make up a little for that though - they're posh with really lovely hand wash and hand lotion! read more

Had a wonderful time at the Yelp previous of the film Before I Go To Sleep. The theatre is in the basement of the hotel and is quite small and intimate. The seats are bright red and pretty comfy! My sister and I were a little concerned before the movie started on how our sight line would be since the screen is slightly curved, but we both had a great view and enjoyed ourselves immensely. If you're looking for a place to rest those wary shopping feet after exploring all the alcoves of Covent Garden Market and independent shops around Seven Dials (keep an eye out for 20% off weekends btw) and the regular beer stench or over thought cocktail isn't for you, then Covent Garden Hotel has all the elements of great wine, nibbles and people watching you could hope for. It's set on a reasonably busy street so avoid rush hour traffic times. Also don't expect to get a cheap deal, but hey you're splashing cash from buying the fifth pair of Aqua marine suede box heel pumps so why not treat yourself to that Sauvignon Blanc. I do recommend the Malborough, even as a French girl. The wine goes down easily so make sure you get some crispy squid to go along with it. Or I can say the Chicken Ceasar Salad might be one of the most expensive I've had, but it was also one of the tastiest. Get a table on the street, whatever the weather, and watch the world go by. It's one of those great London spots. read more

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Covent Garden. We had an opportunity to see a preview of the new movie "Before I Go To Sleep" in which Nicole Kidman plays an amnesiac who wakes up every morning not remembering that she's 40 years old and that the man next to her is her husband. (All I can say is: If I woke up next to Colin Firth and he told me he's my husband, I wouldn't question it!!) The cinema is a beautiful room with a fine pinstriped wallpaper and huge, comfy red leather seats. The waitstaff from the lovely bar upstairs will come bring your drinks and bar food here, and they even had popcorn prepared! Well done. Rating the restaurant-- our family came Christmas Eve and despite being crowded they found a table for us and later even moved us to a more spacious table when one up. Luckily for me this was the nearest hotel to my last office - so where else was a boy to stay? I dont think it is quite up to the standard of the same group's Soho Hotel, but again it delivers the same understated modern easy luxury. The bar and restaurant also are great for all 3 meals of the day, though again Refuel at Soho Hotel has the edge. But for a central hotel, close to great sites and restaurants it is hard to beat. read more

This hotel is pure, understated luxury. I was lucky enough to stay here for one night on my 21st birthday, and one night was definitely not enough to experience all it has to offer. The staff here were amazing, and upgraded my room to a master suite, making a poor student feel like a queen for a day. The rooms are beautiful; mine had a king-sized bed, a flat-screen tv, a huge bathtub, a walk-in power shower and all the mod-cons one would expect from a 5-star luxury boutique hotel. The minibar was neatly and discreetly tucked away in a cupboard and contained all manner of things - from candles to gourmet nuts, it was definitely well-stocked (even if a bag of crisps was around £2.50). All in all, the hotel was pretty perfect - in a great location just off Covent Garden with many little boutiques and quirky shops around to visit and within walking distance of one of London's main attractions. The breakfast the next morning was also perfect - the eggs were not overcooked and the waitresses were charming and friendly. However, I do have one gripe with this hotel and that was their lack of WiFi access. Although they have WiFi, they charge for it, and the rate is astronomical - I think about £20 for two hours. If you're paying that price for a room, wouldn't you expect it to be free? read more

Covent garden hotel is perfect for central london either for a weekend of shopping and shows or just for a weekend of indulgence. The bar serves great cocktails (these are quite high in price upto £16) and a greta wine lists again quite pricey a small glass is sround £10 however its very nice wine, we sat on the pavement and just watched the world go by the service was prompt and we felt very spoilt. They also do a lovely afternoon tea with Champagne and some wonderful cakes and lovely individual tea pots, the attention to detail is a real treat. The rooms and hotel decor are as expected very good and to a high standard, Rooms are around £200 the service was very good and it felt very welcoming and didnt have the typical tourist feel that some hotels in London have. read more

A fantastic hotel. Service and hospitality are top notch. Location is prime. A very romantic feel to it. The food and room service are delicious. My girlfriend and I would order the night before and wake up to fresh fruit, bacon, coffee, pastries, or whatever we were feeling. There is an honesty bar upstairs where we would pour ourselves a night cap and mingle. After I left, she stayed behind for work. I contacted the concierge (Luke) who was very willing to help me deliver some chocolates and a card to the room on her birthday and it went very well. It also ended up costing less than he estimated. I love this hotel! My husband and I stayed here in Summer of 2004 before and after flying to Milan and Venice. Our room was very spacious and exquisite with it's high timbered ceilings and it's fabulous view of the trees and street below. Dining in the restaurant attached was convenient for us on several occasions before heading out to explore the V & A and many other wonderful sites in London. Just spent a week in a suite here and all around a fabulous hotel. Excellent friendly staff with personality. Very nice bar folks and restaurant staff. The breakfast was good and about as expected for a nice hotel, but not mind blowing. Very attractive surroundings and rooms as you would expect for an expensive city. Lavishly furnished. Chose it over staying at something like the Dorchester, Claridge's or the Ritz because I could get a Suite for the price of a room at one of those. Exceptional services by the bell staff as I had a number of packages delivered to the Hotel and they were handled beautifully. I liked the location as it was a 10 minute walk to the anywhere in the theater district. Overall it is exactly as advertised and will be looking forward to another stay. read more

Apparently the screening room used to be a morgue when this was a hospital back in the day. I watched a horror movie down there and it totally freaked me out. Other than that it's a good, if compact, hotel. read more

What a nice hotel, great staff and a cosy atmostphere. We stayed for 3 days, but it would have been nice to stay longer

This, along with sister "Charlotte St Hotel" around the corner, has got to be my favorite places to stay in London. It's very English and maybe even a little eccentric, but in a good way. Each of the rooms are decorated differently, so it's always a delight to find out which one you get when checking in. The rooms are spacious and bright, the beds are delicious to fall into (esp. after a red-eye flight), and the bathrooms are lovely. I was tickled pink to know that they have an honor bar in the library downstairs - you take what you want and just write it down + your room # in the book. Somehow the world seems like such a nicer place! There's a gorgeous fireplace as well. It's smack dab in the middle of Covent Garden (good for shopping) and totally walkable to Soho or Oxford Street for more shopping. The food at the restaurant is delicious, and if you have a hankering for afternoon tea - oh my you are in for a treat! I think I asked for a second helping of their clotted cream for the scones! Don't be fooled by the modest stripe-awning exterior, this little English beauty is definitely worth a gander. read more

I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times. It is, by a wide margin, my favorite hotel in London, and I've stayed in a lot of them. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant is very good and the concierge staff is rather talented at getting unobtainable tickets. It's far from inexpensive, but I generally feel that the value--for-money is very good. If it's a romantic trip, splurge on the terrace suite - it's got a balcony with a nice Mary Poppins feel.
