This review is based on the restaurant, service, and viewing the exterior/interior of the hotel as I have yet to stay at the hotel to review the room. Ting Restaurant was amazing as it has afternoon tea (reservations needed) and the views of London is 360. Bathrooms are outstandingly nice where the stalls have different charging wires for a specific type of phone that you use. The service is impeccable and the hotel is easy to access off the London Bridget Tube station.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at and such a great location for my first trip to London. The hospitality from start to finish was impeccable. We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave! The bath is exposed, but there are shades that you can use if you want to keep private. The view is phenomenal and the facilities (pool, saunas, restaurants) we're divine. There was one problem with my room key not working because my partner accidentally booked the room on two separate reservations. He was in the middle of a work meeting and was not with me to verify the reservation, and the front desk staff provided champagne and water for me while I waited. Our room had a set of binoculars so we could see the eye of London, Thames, and other neighborhoods close up. Housekeeping always kept the room in tip top shape everyday and for evening turn down service. The location is right next to the tube, London bridge, and borough market. Super walkable and convenient. Can't wait to come back!

This hotel is ALL about the service they provide to their customers. My stay was lovely but there was a couple hiccups. Upon arrival I was greeted and showed to my room. At my room they showed me all of the features that come with my room. (Please notify your guests that you can see other guests if they have their window open) There was a small note but if I wasn't looking I wouldn't have known. They had charged my card in case of any damages. But apparently didn't charge my card correctly and I had to go down to recharge my card. Inconvenient. After a couple days the hotel personnel did know who I was and didn't question my stay. But for the first two days they questioned if I was a guest at the hotel. Which I was not pleased about since I am paying a lot of money for my stay. They do offer a car service during the day to drop you off. If you need a private car they are able to assist. My room was BEAUTIFUL! The view from my room was amazing 24/7. I went to view the room was the bathtub that faced tower bridge. It's an okay view and also reminder if you pick this room and have the windows open when you are going in the bath people are able to see. Do not order the afternoon tea to your room it is not worth it! Actually most of the food is not ordering. For a very expensive hotel I would think the food would be above and beyond. Its not. Everything was either mediocre or less. I suggest going over to borough market for food which is only two roads down from the hotel. The pool was closed for most of my stay which was inconvenient. But I got to enjoy it on my last day. Wish I got to spend more time in the pool. The bar upstairs was very nice and has a great ambiance. There is a beautiful view of tower bridge at a couple of the tables. The cocktails were ok. I had the homemade perfume one. You have to hold your nose when you drink it since you will be smelling STRONG perfume when you take a sip. Overall, my stay could have been a lot better especially for what this hotel stands for.

Stunning views. Food well presented and delicious. The only issue was severely underdone lamb which we inedible. Staff were excellent and very attentive.

**This is a review for the Shangri La AFTERNOON TEA and NOT the Hotel at The Shard in London :)** Wow....my entire experience here was absolutely fantastic!! If I could afford it, I would come here everyday! RESERVATION -You absolutely must book online ahead of time to get a spot here! They are super popular and only if you are lucky, you'll be able to come in on a random day and get seated for afternoon tea. But that's unlikely, just book in advance. -Tea starts at 12:00, they don't take any reservations earlier than that. -P.S. their online reservation booking thing is kind of confusing so make sure to CALL them to confirm that you have a reservation made for afternoon tea and not the restaurant VIEW/LOCATION -OMG!! Hands down one of the most beautiful city views in London. It's on the 40th floor (or something like that lol) so you can see the London Bridge, the water, all the pretty buildings.. amazing !! FOOD -Food and Tea is unlimited. (£70 per person) -Tea was yummy of course, but I mean tea is tea..! Nothing super super special but good nonetheless. I ordered the Oolong tea and had it with some sugar and milk. It has an amazing fragrance! -they explain the menu and food to you when you're there so if you have any questions about what you're eating, the servers are super helpful. -You choose between 2 types of set menus (Asian menu & traditional) I recommend getting both, 1 for each person so you can try both foods! -There is a sweet course and a savory course. Desserts like macaroons, cakes, chocolates and savory items include things like truffle sandwiches, sushi, etc SERVICE -AMAZING!! Everyone is so nice and helpful from the minute you enter the door. (I have nothing else to say cuz they're seriously just awesome) *Please do not dress casually! Wear nice clothing. You don't have to look like you're going to a wedding but don't wear jeans and sandals lol

The elevator should announce 'TĪNG GŎNG' after the 26 seconds it will take you to get from the ground to the 35th floor lobby ... I almost felt like I was back in Singapore on seeing the decor and the beautiful Asian staff who greeted me at check-in. Currently in a state of Fluxury .... the 2nd Shangri La establishment to appear in Europe has hit the ground stumbling. It will soon be up and running, trust me on this. The negative press in regards to breakfast service and bar usage will soon fade because these people know how to sit you squarely in the lap of the Gods and, let's face it, they are based in Renzo Piano's iconic creation overlooking London with prime eyeball estate. The room we occupied gave us a 180 degree view on to some of the city's most famous landmarks and it is gobsmackingly impressive We tried out their restaurant 'TĪNG' and it has a creative menu mixing British & European classic cuisine. Props to sommelier Anne who knows her grapes but pity the poor lass as the wine cellar is 38 floors back down from the lobby so best to get your wine order in early!! Never bothered with the bar 'GŎNG' this time as it is open to all and was therefore chokka block with gawpers. We just nipped down in the lift to level 31 to neck cocktails in one of my favourite spots, Aqua Shard. I have stayed all over Asia with the Shangri La and their Villinigili island resort in the Maldives is where I head to unwind, so I am well aware of what they aspire to. They make the Burj Al Arab in Dubai look like the Bates motel. If it wasn't considered an invasion of your personal space then they would gladly soap you up, towel you down and tuck you in. 4* for now and I will be back shortly to add the fifth once they have opened all their rooms and the bar does not require residents to make a reservation !!

The BEST HOTEL I have ever stayed at!! Everything is beyond perfect at this place. I can't even describe the outstanding service in this hotel!! Everything is on point from the moment you get there and you are greeted by the doormen to the front desk receptionist to the hotel reception to the beautiful and amazing rooms and the great view. The doorman, i think his name was Rob greeted us every time we got in an out of the hotel. They have umbrellas handy there because of London weather. As soon as we come in, they come and take the umbrella from us and direct us to the elevator. The room are very beautiful and well cleaned. They come and clean the room in the morning then the manager comes and checks the room after to make sure everything is clean. Then around 5-6 they come again to tidy up the room again. The bathrooms that are in the lobby has chargers, heated seats and great view. People wont see you from outside though. The room has everything you need. The toilet seats are also heated, radio in the bathroom, all the essential you can ever ask for.... I highly recommend this hotel

My husband booked a table for two at Bar 31. The food was exceptional good and the staff was curtious and very helpful. We watched the bonfires that night. What a fabulous experience I will never forget.

Our view from the bed....not bad waking up to this!

The best hotel with an amazing view of London! The service is impeccable. Upon our arrival the hostess escorted us to our rooms and explained the amenities. We were impressed with the little details in the room....automated window coverings, lighting, & music once you enter the room with your room key. The heated toilet seat. The tv in the bathroom mirror. The nice touches like two large bottles of water next to the bed. The fruit on the coffee table. The turn down service. The amazing view! Did I say that already?

    Anna A.

The view is beautiful! Felt a bit brushed off bc we were there only for drinks and not food. But otherwise loved it! You have to go through security check going in which I found cute lol

Rou Nen, Lang Deli at Shangri-La
    Sandra G.

The cakes at the Lang Deli are jewel-like creations. And very delicious ones indeed! I got for the Rou Nen, which name is just as mysterious as its appearance! Once I managed to convince myself to destroy this piece of art (isn't it always heartbreaking?), I finally discovered what was hidden under the spotless white dome (White chocolate coconut mousse, mango, citrus madeleine and sesame seed croustillant). Far too quickly, it was all gone. That's the problem when cakes are light as a feather and absolutely delicious. You eat them without even realizing it. https://cakeandwhisky.wordpress.com/2015/03/04/cake-for-breakfast-at-lang-shangri-la-the-shard/

We stayed at this hotel on June 29th, just a few weeks after it opened, and wow, where to start?!…read moreThe design, with its imaginative and comprehensive art theme, is truly remarkable. From the moment you step into the lobby until you leave your room, you're constantly amazed by the meticulous attention to detail. The hotel is a feast for the senses, with vibrant colors, varied textures, creative lighting (I'm a lighting guy), and a perfect blend of convenience and comfort. You can sit almost anywhere and find yourself captivated by the surroundings, needing time to fully absorb it all. Yet, it never feels overdone--much of the design is subtle, striking a perfect balance. The rooms were so comfortable, and the beds were some of the coziest I've ever slept in. The amenities were top shelf. My wife couldn't believe there was a Dyson hair wrap and blow dryer in the room! There are little screens in each room that seamlessly control your environment - lights (mood), curtains, temperature, etc. The record player was fun, and the speakers were next-level quality. The two bars were more subtly designed with some of the coolest leather chairs I've sat in - we didn't want to move. The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto the street. Last but not least is the outstanding service we received from the check-in, to the personal introduction to the room, to the very attentive bar service and professional dining room staff. They clearly went out of their way to hire and train the best. This place is going to be a unique jewel in the heart of Hoxton.

Here are my notes:…read more * Room Size: Some of the rooms are quite small, but asking for a room at the front of the building is a good hack--those rooms tend to be larger due to the shape of the building. * Breakfast Deal: If you book through certain websites, you'll get complimentary breakfast, which is definitely worth it. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good. * Old but updated: The hotel is definitely on the older side and could use a remodel. While the rooms themselves are updated and comfortable, the hallways have that kind of worn, dated vibe. * IMPORTANT: There's no air-conditioning! I would not stay here in the warmer months. * Location: It's close to the tube and the Elizabeth line, making it super convenient to get around. Plus, you can easily walk to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Overall, your experience at Travelodge London Central City Road may vary, but it's a decent budget-friendly option.

It didn't even really directly impact me as I stayed on the highest floor, but I felt bad for the folks who were staying at the room right below mine lol I tried to walk in my room in a tip-toe fashion. Besides that, clean room that was tidied up well each day during my stay. Zero noise from rooms adjacent to mine. Courteous front counter service as well. Highly recommend adding the breakfast buffet service if your London trip is geared towards sightseeing and is less fussy in terms of where to have a hearty breakfast; I very much enjoyed the buffet offerings here especially the English breakfast items! Huge plus that the hotel is about a 3 min walk from Liverpool Street train station!! Station includes Heathrow-airport-connecting Elizabeth Line and M&S Simply Food for convenience store needs.

First and foremost, the best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. My fiance and I spent 5 nights total here and had no issues getting around to all the touristy things, since the Liverpool Street station is basically a block away. Plus it sure doesn't hurt that it's a straight shot down the Elizabeth Line to get to and from Heathrow Airport! With regards to our hotel stay itself, we were in a suite on the top floor. The suite was quite spacious with an area that was sectioned off with a couch and a LOT of empty space (great for our suitcases and whatnot), but everything just felt kind of old and worn in our opinion. Additionally, I didn't love that the shower had no door and was partially open to the rest of the bathroom because I had to be more careful about not getting water everywhere outside of the shower. Overall not a bad experience but definitely not the best, though we didn't spend much time in the room anyways. As globalists, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast every morning with the breakfast buffet. The food was good, and they had a very nice spread ranging from hot foods to breads to pastries to meats & cheeses. Additionally, you could order a la carte off the menu as well, and I quite liked the spiced omelet that was offered! Service overall was solid, and they even welcomed us in our room with a chocolate mousse cake since we were celebrating my fiance's upcoming birthday on this trip!

In the rush of summer visitors I accidentally booked my mother and brother-in-law to stay at our flat at the same time. Oops. We love everyone but a bit cozy with 4 full-sized adults, a baby and a dog in a two bedroom flat. So, I needed an "overlap" plan -- I did a quick airbnb search but everything coming back was either too far from our home or pretty pricey. Obviously hotels in London are outrageous, even the Premier Inn and Holday Inn Express that are both quite near us. BOLLOCKs, what is one to do? On an off chance I found Landmark Apartments on Yelp. Inputted my dates and found that they had a special of booking 4 nights, you get the 4th night free. WAHOO! Sealed the deal. So for 4 nights (single room, twin bed) I managed to get it for just under £400, or less than 100 quid a night. Those of you well versed in London accommodation know that save a hostel, that is pretty great. And right in the heart of Shoreditch, hard to beat! The booking process was fairly simple, done online and confirmed via email. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant. The room: VERY small, but very nicely done as well. The single room is obviously truly for 1 person. It sleeps 1. It has enough room for 1! My mom loved it though, a nice respite from our noisy house. It was super clean and had a "full" kitchen, which was nice. Location: can't be beat, right on Rivington above Rivington Grill. Word to the wise though -- my mom stayed Sunday-Wednesday when things are rather tame, Thursday-Saturday nights would surely be a different sort on this stretch. Regardless, its very well situated for shopping, eating, drinking, London-ing, etc. They do have the following policies to be aware of: *check-in hours are from 14:00-21:00. *You can arrange to leave your bags in our storage for a charge of £10-£20 depending on the number of the luggage. If you want to check-in early, please let us know in advance and we can arrange early check-in for a charge of £30. *If you are arriving after 21.00 we request that you inform us by phone call approximately one hour before you arrive as we need to arrange someone to check you in. If such arrangements are not made, you may have to wait up to an hour to be checked in. We charge £20 for late check-in as we have to arrange a staff for this service. This wasn't a problem for us as we are local and picked up the keys for my mom but it may be something to consider if you are tallying up costs and convenience. Overall - I was really pleased with the stay and would definitely book it again if we were in an overflow situation!
