I realize your response it to keep the peace, but it's too little too late. Where were you after we emailed the vp Rudy and got no response? Where were you the four times we called the construction regional manager and got no response? Where were you when our house sat vacant for four months because your company didn't order enough tile? Your company has a bad reputation in my community. You were complacent while you let an unqualified construction manager run over the buyers and the sales person. You put this person in charge of the biggest purchase someone can make in life, and I know the things he did were not just related to our house; he did this across the community. We sat and anguished over our build for 22 months and 3 failed attempts to get us closed in a timely manner, which cost you rate lock extensions because we were not going to pay for them. Now it's our turn to tell our journey to anyone reading this. As a company, you need to remember that social media has impact. I see your response about forwarding my concerns and using warranty - which we will be because we have been closed 5 weeks and still do not have a microwave or an oven. Yes - read it again, there is a hole in our cabinetry where a microwave and an oven should be and we are living in a home without them. You coerced us to close without them. Now we have to begin running a laundry list of issues to your warranty department that should have been done prior to close. Each time a warranty appointment happens, one of us has to be home to receive them. With the list of items we have, we will be taking weeks away from work. We followed your direction and filled out "observation forms" six different times that repeatedly listed our concerns, and now we have to continue filling warranty claims out until they get fixed. We are resilient and we will do what we need to, but we will not forget. read more

If I can put a zero star I would, but there is no option for that. When I moved in to my house they were suppose to do lot of things that were not correct, which I understand, because after closing there is a list and walk through... But even after the closing and the walk through nothing was fixed. My kitchen cabinets were scratched up and never installed correctly, I even upgraded the cabinets with Coventry which means I paid extra money from what was actually there. The guys who were supposed to fix the cabinets did come in and said, they were going to replace the cabinets or at least fix the part they did not install correctly. Then the Coventry builders manager Justin said that the cabinets have been ordered which need replacement. I emailed multiple times I mean like 50 times. And then Justin comes back and says my boss needs to come see the cabinets for the kitchen after a year from when I moved in to the house. The BOSS comes in tells my wife that that these cabinets will get scratched up again, so why would we replace them. Wow! Coventry is overpriced. Their quality assurance processes are not existent. While our house was under construction, they had to redo our kitchen cabinets multiple times. They put the wrong windows in the master bathroom. They forgot our second kitchen island. They put on the wrong back door. They forget some of the outdoor outlets we paid for. Items noted in the final walk through have not been addressed 6 months later. They atarted fixing our half bath and didn't finish it. It's been sitting with the water turned off for weeks now and we can't get a timeframe to fix it. They couldn't even manage to install the cheap spice rack in the pantry. My Husband and I entered into a contract with Coventry Homes in Cypress, Texas to build us a new home on 01/06/2024. We were only 10 days into the contract when we determined that this was not the builder for us. Since we were still in the planning phase, we requested a refund and was denied the refund even though Coventry Homes has not started the project. We submitted $17,000 in Earnest Money and this company is making every effort to keep our money with out providing any services. We decided not to move forward after spending time at the Design Center when we determined that everything that is standard with other home builders is an upgrade with Coventry Homes. Even their upgrades are Sub Par and SUPER Expensive. This is where they will make up the difference in the price of the home as the standard choices are standards from the year 1994. We also decided not to move forward after reading numerous COMPLAINTS from Customers who are experiencing the SAME PROBLEMS OR WORSE. Let me start with saying if they had a negative star option that's what I would've put all the way from the sales representative (Tania) out of the Edgewater in League City TX neighborhood to the Project Manager and Upper Management horrible to work with and absolute liars. Little back story so hopefully someone else doesn't have to deal with what I had to. They started building my home in December of 2022 estimated completion and move in date was set for end of May 2023. After poor planning from Management, they had most of the house complete by May 2023 but missing one large detail they hadn't run the electrocortical throughout the neighborhood which is usually the first thing done which in return caused delays, they finally got the electrical ran by the end of September 2023. Now 4 months delayed from our agreed upon time frame. Just wait it gets even better were about a week from final walk through in October 2023 and they were trenching the yard and caught one whole side of the house on fire causing more delays. After considering my options with the delays and now the fire I didn't feel comfortable purchasing a brand-new house that now has been half repaired and put back together. I requested my earnest and options be released back to me and Tania told me NO get with Management, called management over 20 times left messages and NEVER got a call back. Long story short wouldn't ask my worst enemy to do business with Coventry Homes. All I asked for was my hard-earned money back and they just flat out ignored me like I was nothing! We are first time home buyers who moved in a month ago to meridiana subdivision, we bought a new build Coventry home and pre closing items have not been completed. Including painting, texture, installment of dead grass, broken fence boards, megastone that was scratched, delivery of pendant light in kitchen, etc the list goes on. I have tried for a month now to get ahold of anyone including Emmanuel, Andy Gooch, Danielle Hadley (who was our sales representative) by email and phone to address our concerns, I have escalated to Houston office, more emails were sent out and were being ignored. Danielle Hadley called my husband last week to scream at him over the phone for coming up the model home to get answers, she also called me the wrong name for the first 3 days during our purchasing process even after being corrected, she is completely unprofessional and condescending I would avoid doing business with her at all costs! And I would consider another premium builder, Coventry has been a nightmare to work with. half a million dollars spent and this is how we get treated. Next stop- legal action and news. read more

This company is crooked. We moved to Texas and were looking to purchase the house. The sales rep arranged everything so fast for us. The company collected our earnest money and asked to use their preferred lender for mortgage. We did, we were preapproved with them, submitted all the required documentation, but at the end the lender denied us due to our recent move and change of jobs - so what do you do when you move, I guess never buy a house. We contacted the company to return our earnest money and that's where they showed they true colors. They dragged the time for the whole month, then sent us to corporate office to contact Brian Grigsby. He talked to us once and told us he will get back to us the next day. But it never happened. We called them every day for last 2 weeks requesting to talk to him. The guy doesn't even have a voicemail. The receptionist is instructed to take information and that's it. they can't give us anybody else to talk to. This is like a scam. They are so quick to get hold of you to get your money but have all the excuses not to call you back if you need something from them. What kind of business is this and what kind a management do you have if you get the messages that somebody wants to talk to you, but you can't find the time to resolve the issue. All I can say to people who are looking to buy the house from Coventry Homes, please be careful as they work like scammers. And Brian - I gave you all the chances to be a man of integrity to talk to us and make things right, but you are just brushing us off and lying. DO NOT BUILD WITH THIS COMPANY. They act very organized in the beginning; but, after they get your earnest money and options deposit, they disappear. We were planning to build in Dunham Point in Cypress. My husband attempted to contact Kevin multiple times for an update. After not hearing anything for almost 2 months, he had to call the corporate office in order to get a call back. We never received a construction date. We drove by our lot to see many homes going up in the community. I went to the website and noticed that the base price of our floor plan went up $35K. I have a strong feeling that they delayed our home construction on purpose to get us to back out so that they can sell the house and lot at a more expensive price. We have been struggling with our sales counselor who is unfriendly, intimidating and has bad communicating skills. They pride on regular updates and flaunt it on their Instagram posts. Our home site was not prepped correctly for the foundation pouring (broken plumbing etc.) and failed inspection but our sales counselor kept insisting that Coventry home process will move forward with the pouring next day, regardless. Wow! They have no process put in place for reporting an issue or escalating buyer's concerns. We called the corporate but never got anywhere. Everyone's contact info is hidden, lot of old-school gate keeping. It has not been easy reaching out to the manager. I mean can we just get the manager's contact info? Very disappointed with Coventry homes, after moving second day 1st floor toilet was not flushing and sink hole cap is broken. 2nd toilet in the 2nd floor was leaking at night time . We had to shut down the main water line and call them but they show up tomorrow morning around at 10 am though it was emergency situation. Shower tiles are uneven and the worst part is shower water is coming out from the shower glass door and whole floor is full of water outside of shower room . Nails are coming out from cabinet sides pointing outside in to out. LVT floor was cracked . We found plenty of nails and concert scrap in the backyard which is really unacceptable, specially with kids playing around. The worst, deceptive and most unethical company. Not only do they leave their trash to the houses next door when building but they also implement shady practices by trying to deceive the developers they are working with into approving colors and shades that leave the neighborhood looking cookie cutter as they copy neighbors color schemes. After they got denied for trying to paint a house white with charcoal trimmings next door to a pre-existing home, they resubmitted one shade off from white (97% white) calling the color "grey" to get approval and refusing to fix the issue when the homes appeared nearly identical claiming they had "approval". Any other company with morals, would have never attempted to get approval, knowing what they were doing or would have at least fixed the issue but they choose to be embarrassment to not only themselves but the community! read more

Steer clear of these dishonest brokers. We dealt with a very charming sales person in New Braunfels and fell for his promises, giving him the initial fee for land analysis, design selections, and drawings. That was in February, 2021, and the pain ensued. We never got drawings that were correct. The first version was mirrored backwards, and we were assured that would be corrected but never was. At the design center, the designer had to do a mirror copy of the drawings in order to continue the work. The design center was painful and ended up being overly complicated, and incomplete. After working with a design consultant for 3 visits, we heard nothing for weeks. When we called to check, we were assigned to two design consultants who were rebuilding our design choices from previous visits and notes they could piece together. After completing this work with them in April, finally, we heard nothing again. For months. No land preparation was ever completed. No hole dug, no analysis performed on my land. So for the three things we paid for, we got about 2/3 of one. In conversation with the sales person, I expressed how displeased we were and how could I trust them with more money when I was never communicated with, and had to initiate all contact. I was assured we'd meet every two weeks to keep track of items. That was in May, and the last conversation had. Finally, in October, we announced we intended to walk away. They processed a refund and returned a small portion with no details, invoice, or other explanation. These guys are long on sales pitch and short on delivery. I am so very disappointed we wasted time with them from the beginning, but thankful we didn't pursue them to build our home. Beware. read more

Absolute mess working with Coventry homes. I have been working with them on correcting a problem since the house was built. There was leaking on the roofdeck flashing. I have worked with 4 different contractors because they just pass me and my 4+long project off to someone new. Andy has been the only decent person in the entire process, listening when he can and trying to do the best. The others have had no respect for me, my home, or this nightmare of a process. I have been living in a construction zone for months and they have barely cared about my living situation (even had water leaking from the ceiling by at one point from their terrible work and care). However, we're very disappointed that my house is a flip side of the model home, Morgan plan, and builder didn't flip some features according to standard building code, As example, my office door now opens left side rather than right side as you expect in most houses in America. Closed on a Coventry home in Conroe TX In late September 2020. They pushed the closing up so they could get it in their Q3 revenue numbers but they were clearly not ready to close. There was a TON of work not completed. However we were relatively happy with them throughout the process so we decided to take a chance and close with some work being incomplete With only their word that everything documented would be completed ASAP. Huge mistake on our part. After we closed they have completely ignored us and have fixed nothing that was documented at the pre-close walkthrough. We were obviously only a number to them and never should have trusted their word, which was our biggest mistake. I own a highland home. I called Coventry Homes to let them know that the workers always leave trash for the wind to disperse. Today they left a 20 ft² tarp covering the flowerbed and my tree bed. Multiple food containers, ziplock bag, Walmart bags, water bottles and to top it off they bring mud and dirt that we end up driving on and carrying into our garages. I called Coventry Homes to explain the situation. I told them the cleaning truck has come by once in over 7 months and when it did it missed our house. and they told me not to call them in the future. I needed to get a hold of highland if I had any issues. I will tell everyone I know not to waste their time with Coventry Homes. I'm glad I got a highland over Coventry because I would not purchase a house from someone that has that kind of customer service. read more

My boyfriend and I built a home with Coventry homes over a year ago now. We have been putting in warranty request for 6 months. At the beginning of Dec. we finally spoke with someone who told us that we would get start in two weeks. When that time came around we still recieved no schedule or communication. They then changed their plan and told us we would have to wait until the houses were done closing in Dec. We have been waiting six months with 54 warranty items that need to be fixed. Some of which are a danger to us being here in the home. I would never recommend this builder to anyone. We stop receiving any communication from many people in the company after closing. Coventry is a nightmare builder, not a home builder. They do not deliver as advertised in either construction quality or schedule. They told us the new home project would normally take around 12 months, and then took almost 20 months to complete. They use unskilled and poorly skilled labor, they typically don't follow building codes, and they have almost zero quality control (even though they will point out that they do inspections, almost 100% of all defects were found and tracked by me and my inspectors). We had found literally hundreds of issues with roofing, framing, sheathing, windows, drywall, electrical, plumbing, cornice, foundation, and HVAC, many of which were never fixed. The first time it rained, we had leaks in 3 different places, damaging our ceiling and furniture. The first time we tried to install window shades, 5 of our windows were not square enough to do this successfully. Coventry advertises a 16 seer AC system and then went and improperly installed a system advertised as a 14 seer system from Lennox. They didn't sheath the entire house, just randomly left entire exterior walls uncovered. They make you pay for your home construction plans, and they won't give you a copy for review. Finally, they use the cheapest possible materials (plastic bathroom fixtures? Really?) and mark up upgrade prices anywhere from 60% to 400%. Their main concern first and foremost was always to be paid and nothing more. Beware. Note: They are listed under the BBB as MHI, Inc. UPDATE: 1 year in. We are still working with Coventry to fix numerous warranty issues regarding HVAC, electrical, foundation (major crowning across beams), roof (6 leaks so far), a gas leak, etc. We continue to find their use of the cheapest possible materials everywhere, even when they don't match or don't function properly. Our electrical bills are running much higher than expected and we are spending thousands putting the house back into satisfactory shape ourselves. UPDATE: 18 months in. Still chasing Coventry to level the floors and fix a dozen other things. Did I mention the cabinets are warping and the cabinet hinges are failing? read more

MHI (aka Coventry Homes, Wilshire Homes, and Plantation Homes) is the worst when it comes to keeping promises. In July, I signed a contract with Wilshire Homes with Steve Ryherd, who said that in case my lender would not approve the loan, the EMD would be refunded under any circumstances. Then Mr. Ryherd unfortunately got sick and my case was transferred to Steve Coppage, who was pretty indifferent, unresponsive, and uncooperative during the house purchase process. In September, my loan application didn't go through. I signed the release paper. Mr. Coppage said my EMD would be under review and I should get it a week later. A week passed by. I called Mr. Coppage, who told me my EMD would not be returned because the contract says my loan application has exceeded 30 days since the effective date. When I double check the contract, there was clearly NO SUCH TERMS DISCUSSING WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE THE APPLICATION TAKES MORE THAN 30 DAYS. This does against what Mr. Ryherd promised me earlier. (I still have his text message). What kind of builder is this company who would go to any lengths to keep hold of customers' EMD? I wonder. read more

We currently live in one of your neighborhoods mix with another builder. About 8 months or more you all did repairs to my neighbors home. when doing the repairs someone covered our front lawn drainage pipes and now our lawn floods every time it rains. when we bought the house we had Highland homes place the drains on both sides of our yard and now we only have one side. The drainage holes were covered with sand and the drain caps were removed. I have called Coventry homes over 30 times, left messages with Bridget i believe her name is, spoke with Ryan who came to our home looked at the issue and never returned. He doesn't answer calls or text and i can't seem to get any help. I've gone to the model homes for help and no one returns my call. i finally got a hold of Robert today who says he was going to contact someone but not counting on it. I called builder and they are not able to help since your team removed the drains. I'm asking now for the 30 time again for someone to please fix the issue before we have to seek legal help with the matter.
