Today is a bittersweet day as it is my daughter's last day at KinderCare Covina before she begins her journey to kindergarten. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible teachers who have played such a vital role in shaping who my baby is today. My daughter started here just a week after her 2nd birthday, where she joined the 2-3 year old class. She was welcomed with warmth, patience, and love by Ms. Sandy and Ms. Monica who are absolute gems; Always nurturing, consistent, and full of energy & patience. They created such a happy and safe space where my baby could explore, play, and build confidence. Their ability to balance structure with creativity made her early learning experiences both educational and fun. I will always appreciate how much they cared for her and helped her develop those early social-emotional and classroom-readiness skills. It was in Mrs. Rani's Pre-K & TK class where everything came together in the most extraordinary way though. If I could give more than five stars for Mrs. Rani, I would in a heartbeat. She is nothing short of phenomenal. She is rare kind of teacher who brings passion, wisdom, and heart into EVERY moment of her teaching. Academically, my daughter flourished under her care. Mrs. Rani's ability to introduce foundational skills in reading, math, science, and critical thinking is masterful. But what sets her apart even more is her emphasis on the WHOLE CHILD. She guided my daughter to become independent, kind, emotionally aware, and eager to learn. Traits that are just as important as academics in my eyes, and ones I know will stay with her for life. Mrs. Rani built a classroom culture rooted in respect, curiosity, and compassion. She believed in my daughter and gave her the tools to believe in herself. Thanks to her, my daughter is not only prepared for Kindergarten, she's excited and confident about what's next! And of course I can't go without also thanking the amazing Director & Assistant Director, Ms. Jessica and Ms. Arlene. They have been such a dependable and positive presence, always on top of communication, and always a fresh, smiling face to greet us at drop-off and pick-up. Their leadership has truly helped make KinderCare Covina feel like a supportive, well-run community. And lastly, a wonderful part of this school (and probably my favorite thing I like to tell inquiring friends/parents who are unsure about sending their baby to daycare/preschool) is the KinderCare app! It kept us closely connected to our daughter's day. Getting updates in real-time, from what she ate (and how much), to how long she napped, to photos of her learning and playing, to the weekly curriculum; It gave us such peace of mind and made us feel like we were right there with her. It's an amazing tool for any parent who loves being in the loop. KinderCare Covina has been more than just a daycare or a preschool for us. It has truly been a second home. I can't thank the staff enough for creating such a positive and enriching environment for my daughter. To any parent considering this center: if you want a place where your child will be seen, supported, challenged, and deeply cared for, THIS IS IT!!! We have been with Covina KinderCare for approximately 16 years now. My oldest son started there when he was 1 and half and left at 12 years old and my daughter has been there since she was 4 months old. They have been my saving grace. I absolutely love the staff, I go to work comfortably knowing my babies were safe, being taken care of. My daughter started attending at a little over 2y. She's been there for 2.5 years now. It's wonderful. She's happy there. Sings. Dances. Plays. Knows how to count in English and Español. Picking a center for your child is terrifying, but choosing Covina KinderCare for our daughter has been one of the best decisions my husband and I have made. I was expecting more of a daycare, but instead I am so pleased with my daughter's progress academically. She started in Discovery Pre-School with Ms. Monica and Ms. Sandy and is now in Pre-School with Ms. Rani, Ms. Sessaly and Ms. Vanessa. Since she has started KinderCare, she knows all her colors, shapes, alphabets names and sounds, how to write her name(at age 3!!), her seasons, months, days and I could honestly go on! She talks so much and some of her vocabulary is astonishing! I am shocked some of the words she knows. Besides academics, this KinderCare is a family. I feel welcomed each time I walk in and have amazing conversations with all of the staff members. I know my daughter is well taken care of when I drop her off. This is one of the main reasons why we choose this KinderCare. Right away from the tour we could tell how much love is in the center, and that is what is most important to us. The communication is also open with the teachers and center directors and I can ask them anything when I picked her up. That is important because I feel like we are a team working together to do what is best for my daughter. We also receive updates and pictures throughout the day of my daughter's activities. I am sad my eldest daughter's time at KinderCare is coming to an end since she will be starting public school next August. But I am very eager for my youngest to start at KinderCare very soon! I love this facility! My 2 year old has been attending for 3 months now and I see a total change in him. They teach them so much .. they have activities everyday for them and receiving the daily pictures is the best. The teachers definitely put so much thought and care into all they do with them. I've learned that you should not always go off of a yelp review but by word-of-mouth and by what actual people say in person about an establishment or school. I recently enrolled my son into this very well run daycare. I wondered what all the hype was about because five out of five moms that I would run into said this was an excellent school and they all raved about Miss Jayleen. It's been my son's third day of school and I can't tell you how pleased I am with his attendance. Made me wonder, wow, what would he be like in 3 months or even in a year. So far I love it here for my 3 year old. He needed a little more structure and this seems to be a great mix of great staff who are also stern yet nurturing. Let's just say that they know what they're doing here! The place is very clean and follows Covid guidelines. This place is definitely highly recommended and I see why. read more

Hello my name is Gilbert Espinoza my 4 year old daughter Layla has been attending Covina KinderCare since she was 2, I have to say I was very timid at first being a first time parent sending my child to be taken care of by others, but I will say this was an excellent decision my wife and I made. The place is not just for child care, they have a curriculum. Layla, my daughter has learned so much attending daily from social skills, arts and crafts, mathematics, and language arts. I want to give praise to her teachers in room 2 (Ms. Sessaly, Ms. Rani, and Ms. Vanessa) who've continued to push Layla to her full potential. My daughter recently had to take an entrance exam for catholic school she'll be attending this year and her future teacher advised my wife and I that she was very impressed how advanced our daughter is with academics. I'll give all the credit to her teachers they've done an amazing job with her and we are forever grateful. So my daughter has been going here since she was 2. Her first teachers were Ms. Sandy, Ms. Monica, and Ms. Jessica. They made my daughter feel so comfortable, and also made my husband and I so at ease with our difficult transition. Let me tell you, these teachers potty trained my daughter in 3 weeks! Yes you read it right, 3 weeks! She has learned so much coming to this school. She is now in the 3's class with Ms. Ria, Ms. Arlene, and Ms. Vanessa. The transition was so easy and the teachers are so great! My daughter is learning so much and we love the packets that are sent home weekly. We get to see the progress in her work and we love it! Everyone is so nice and always has a warm smile. We love the front office and how the communicate so well with us. We are so happy we chose this Kindercare. read more

This daycare has been a life changer for us, my husband is overprotective with our daughter and was extremely picky about where we were going to allow our daughter to socialize and be around other children her age. Now,our child had only been around us for her two years of life and was a little wild and extremely shy around people. She went into the two's class and adapted rather quickly. We saw a major difference in her right away, she started socializing with other family members at gatherings, she started speaking a lot better in English, she was even potty trained within a couple of weeks. My son was in the infant class. Not very clean to begin with. My son was sick after his first day. Nap area and play area are in the same area. I went to pick up my son one day and there was another baby about 3 months old laying on the tile face down. None of the teachers seemed to even notice. Very disappointing. read more

First of all Kindercare saved me when I was in desperate need as a foster Mom searching for a daycare for my 6 month old niece who I had just received care of. They were able to accomodate a placement for her. It has been 2 years now and I couldnt be more comfortable. My niece receives therapies and they are always accepting of the therapists and very good with communicating with me by telephone or note. My neice is learning and retaining what she learns everyday from her teachers. They have alot of patience to say the least. The directors are helpful, friendly, and real professionals but with heart which I love the most. Im happy and found a family here because it takes a village. After 1 year of attending this center my daughter's teacher didn't know her name. During the parent teacher conference the teacher repeatedly called her by another name and never used the correct name. She didn't mispronounce the name. She used an entirely different name. When my daughter began attending she was able to recite her ABCs, identify all the basic colors, count to 20, and recognize approx 20+ sight words. During the parent teacher conference mentioned above the teacher indicated that my daughter did not know her ABCs, colors, numbers or shapes. This was a year after she began attending Kindercare at which time she already displayed all of these abilities. We thought Kindercare would build on the foundation my wife and I had laid in regards to my daughter's early childhood development. We were sadly mistaken. I believe the teacher's lack of engagement with my daughter was due to the large class size. When we began they claimed the class size would be 8 to 10 students per instructor - which is a lot when dealing with children of this age. When we dropped her off and picked her up, however, we routinely saw almost twice this ratio. I only blame the teacher in part. After all, it's up to her to learn the children's names. I also blame the director for setting her up to fail. Class sizes need to be reasonable if you expect the care to be adequate. Kindercare, at least this site, is more concerned with maximizing their profit than providing the best quality environment for the kids. I wish they understood that if the care was better, more parents would enroll their children and Kindercare would still make money. That's why I hit them where it hurts and took my daughter and her tuition elsewhere. Finally, once we made the decision to remove my daughter from this center we found less expensive care where my daughter has made substantially more progress in less time. I kick myself for wasting all that time my daughter could have been developing elsewhere. I would look elsewhere if I were you. read more

I love kinder care ! I've been taking my son since 2012 (started out in West Covina) then when I moved to Covina found out I moved right around the corner from this location! My son is in their "preschool" room and has learned sooooooo much it's AMAZING! He knows all his letters, numbers, colors how to write his name, and how to write words without having to trace them! He can sound out 3-letter-words. My son is only 3 and he can basically read 3 letter words! I'm a full time student and kinder care is doing an excellent job at making sure he doesn't skip a beat & giving him a great foundation. I get complimented all the time on how smart he is and I always tell people it's not me it's his Preschool! Words cannot explain my love for this school! read more

We have been bringing our 2 boys Elias & Lucas here since we moved into the area, they helped us with the potty training with both here & also were a huge help with our youngest while he was doing speech therapy. Grateful they are located so close to my home. It's PRICEY but worth it for my boys. My oldest learned so much here & was ready for Kindergarten before he was 5 y.o. They are open when regular school is closed & when we (PARENTS) have to work. They have fun activities during the summer time. Absolutely worst Day care facility. When you leave your toddler in the hands of a day care teacher,you expect them to take good care of your kids. But I think some people are Absolute shame in the Name of teacher and being a women. This review is specific for discovery preschool steps.My toddler came back home hungry 2 days in a row in spite of making it clear that she can't feed herself. 3rd day after repeatedly informing about this issue, i really don't know what they did to her but when I went to pick her up, the teacher tells me that my daughter has gagged and that why she had to changed her outfit. My daughter hugged me tightly and was just crying and only wanted to be held in arms.When we returned home my lil one not only had lost her appetite but she was terrified of going to the school, she had runny nose, that same night she was down with high fever and also she started vomiting. today it's the 20th day she has just started getting better. My lil one is very social otherwise, she loves interacting with others but now she doesn't even want to be left out in separation time with other activities or in the gyms daycare with which she never had any problems.May be other parents don't experience that but after what I experienced I am never going to let my daughter go to kindercare. read more

I visited this KinderCare in hopes of finding a good environment for my son to be in while I am working. I met with the assistant to the director who gave me a tour. When I got to the classroom I noticed a distinct smell of urine. I looked to my wife and asked her if she smelled anything funny. She immediately identified the smell as urine. I asked the assistant about the smell but she was unable to provide reason for the classroom smelling. The assistant offered a free day and told me that there usually isn't a smell (asked me to try it out). I accepted and dropped my son off (to their credit, it seemed like they aired the classroom out and sprayed febreeze..even though I could still smell some urine it wasn't dominating the classroom as the previous day. Mid day I get a call from the center's director informing me that I should not have been given a free day. When I informed her that I did not ask for the free day and was more than willing to pick up my son in about 10 minutes she repeated the same ("you shouldn't have gotten a fee day") and said that I did not have to pick him up. I'm not sure what the goal of the call was but it was unnecessary (considering she didn't want me to pick my son up) and drove me away. I ALWAYS steer clear of poor business practice as it is often an indicator of other poor business practices. read more

I remember when I was a kid and went to this one. I had a bully indeed and he just seemed to get a slap on the hand for hitting me and g-d forbid if I retaliated I was the one sent to the office. Whats more if you are worried about enforcement of Bathroom gender rules they do not do that there. Even though most don't think to examine each other I understand some parents might find this disturbing. Keep in mind this was 18 years ago so they may have improved since 1994. I even remember seeing one of the caretakers accidentally push a kid the same one that bullied me too hard on the swing and he landed and literally ate sand. All I can say is if their enforcement hasn't improved over the years brace yourself for the possibility that your son or daughter might embrace violence as an acceptable response to anger or that they must never get angry cause it gets them in trouble. What is more if you want seconds on snacks or lunch or whatever you gotta sing some retarded song first so if your child is a bit more mature for their age they may find this very annoying. I understand they are probably trying to teach self control this way but still would it kill them to at least pick songs that are both clean and fun to sing? That is about all so yeah not sending my kids to any preschool and they are to blame. read more
