The repair job they did on my truck bed was sub par at best. A lot of corners were cut to say the least. They also can't seem to correctly tape off areas that dont need to be repainted. The inside of both doors on the driver side of my truck had silver paint all over them. The roof of my truck had overspray all over it as well... I had to give my truck back to these guys 2 different times. My advice? Go anywhere else. You and I could paint a vehicle better than this. Note: My truck is not even 2 years old. So the overspray on the roof and the interior side of my doors really irritated me as it should anyone else read more

Great locally owned body shop. I would highly recommend them for any body type repairs.

Replaced bumper & took 28 days to repair. Gave no updates. Then get car home & paint job was horrible. missed spots, chipping off. The color didn't match. They got clear coat on my windows. Then a mouse got in my car there & it made a mess. Had to constantly call to get them to have time to repair again. Then claimed it would take 3 days to repair. I requested a renter car on their expense & then they could magically do it faster. I would never go back after this experience. read more

I have a hard time believing there is a worse body shop in the area than Covington Body Shop. You can find better quality work at MAACO and better customer service at the DMV. I paid Covington Body Shop $2600 to replace and repaint the front bumper and fender of my wife's pearl white SUV. The job was estimated to be completed in four days, but ultimately took more than 4x as long to complete, despite the shop supposedly having all the parts and supplies ready when I brought the car in. After paying for the work, I realized under better light that the color match was terrible (see attached picture). The bumper and fender were several shades whiter than the factory color. When I brought this to the owner's (Fernando Almeida) attention, he agreed that the new paint was noticeably whiter; however, he asserted that it was the best that could be done - by him or anyone else. Fernando added that if I wanted it to look better, it would have to be blended. This, of course, begged the question, "Why didn't you blend it then?!?" Fernando stated that he would have done a better job and blended it IF he had dealt directly with my insurance instead of with me. Translation: I'm not afraid of losing your future business, but I am afraid of losing an insurance contract. He stated that if I wanted the new paint to match the old paint that I would have to pay him more money or get my insurance to pay for it. He said this with a straight face. Mr. Fernando doesn't feel that it's necessary to provide professional-quality work for non-insurance jobs. In his mind, $2600 (his own appraisal) is not sufficient money to get him to do a professional job, or to complete it within a reasonable time. As I informed him, I will be filing a formal complaint about Covington Body Shop with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). My complaint is not limited to the poor-quality work provided and his refusal to fix it. It also regards Mr. Almeida's repeated efforts to squeeze more money out of me after discovering that there was an insurance claim for my vehicle's damage. After taking my vehicle in, Mr. Almeida left multiple messages with my wife to ask about my insurance claim; something which is none of his concern. When I returned Mr. Almeida's call, he informed me that my bill was going to be $350 higher than the original estimate due to the need for a new headlight "resistor." He added that the bill could possibly go higher if he couldn't reuse old components from the old headlight. I replied that the headlamp assembly that he billed me for was supposed to be new and, therefore, shouldn't have required salvaged parts from the old one (which was smashed). I informed him that I was not willing to pay an additional $350 for a bogus resistor and asked him instead to leave the existing lamp as it was and just complete the body work. He proceeded to yell at me and tell me that I didn't know what the hell I was talking about before revealing his true motives when he asked me why I hadn't told him about my insurance claim. I told him again that was none of his business. When I picked up my vehicle another week later, he attempted to bill me the full amount of the original estimate, before I reminded him that he had not done the headlamp replacement work. Mr. Almeida is the most disrespectful, unethical and ornery business owner I have ever met. His lack of professionalism and complete disdain for his customers has me wondering how he has remained in business. Other customers on here have confirmed his antagonistic attitude, so I have zero doubt that this is simply his nature. Apart from his terrible attitude, he is a complete amateur. Anyone needing quality paint work should seriously seek out a more capable shop. I understand that pearl white isn't the easiest color to match, but I have had pearl white cars repaired with no issue before. I've posted a picture of his work on my car. He is apparently proud of this. If your standard is higher (if you like your paint to match), then you should shop around. Even MAACO delivers better quality, and for much less. read more

I am perhaps in the minority, but I had a horrible experience at Covington Body Shop. After having paid for everything well in advance, they twice sent me away with seat belts for my third row seating which turned out NOT TO WORK when my grandchildren arrived, so they were forced to ride around without seat belts. This is after I was assured that they worked and had not thought it necessary to try them out as I trusted them not to send me away with the wrong seat belts. When I brought the car back for the fifth or sixth time, I was told, and I quote "I only install them"!!! as though they could not be held responsible for having them work! Once they realized that would not send me away, they ordered more seat belts, which took another eight weeks, and when those came in, because my little dogs had chewed on them a little and they could not return them to Toyota. I was obliged to pay for them a second time in order to have them installed, whereas I thought they should absorb the cost as I had been put through so much trouble, constant renting of cars and ubers. And I thought I was in possession of working seat belts when the dogs chewed on them, and it was minor and they would still have worked if they had not been the wrong ones. A total rip-off and unethical place, and the owner, Fernando, during the EIGHT MONTHS that it took to finally have the correct seat belts, did not ONCE offer an apology or try to accommodate me in any way for all of the trouble and expense. read more

This is a State Farm Preferred Body Shop, They will try to exclude damage related to your accident if you are a State Farm customer. The work is good, though it took them 2 days to pick up my truck. A week later it was ready, washed job complete, almost. My new rear bumper was 1 inch lower on one side, and had a distinct slope downward on the passenger side. I had to take it as I needed it for work, brought it back that afternoon, and was told to drop it off 2 days later. I dropped it off in the morning, went back at lunch, and the droop was gone, but the bumper did not line up with the body panel. I was told by Mr. Fernando that I did not tell him about this. Who is the body work professional here? Shouldn't an auto body repair facility be able to see when a part is misaligned? I went back to work without my truck, and it was finally made right that evening. I won't be referring any business to them anytime soon. read more
