This is our families 2 or 3rd time to use Covington Comfort and they are now our official AC company we will call for any updates or work to be done as well as the only one we will ever recommend. A few weeks ago our condenser went out. My husband called Covington Comfort and they were at with in the hour. I know that this may not be able to happen in all cases but in the past the response time was also quick. The owner of the company, Jim Covington, came out spoke with my husband showed him the problem and replaced the part the same afternoon. Jim Covington and his employees have always been nice and professional. Jim really take the time to go over all the options you have and explains in detail the costs and do not surprise you with hidden fees. The fact that they are Locally owned and operated, highly ranked on Angie's list, in Superior standing with the Better Business Bureau and have several positive reviews on Facebook, Yelp and Yellow Pages.com make it very easy for me to use them time and again. I think it's very unprofessional to call to cancel/reschedule my appointment for the following morning at 4 pm the day before - especially with a confirmation message in the morning. The appointment was made last week and arrangements made to accommodate it. This may not be an emergency AC repair but it's bad business and has indefinitely set back my project since I can't just take off whenever I want from my job. read more

This review is generated due to excessive charges to replace an A/C compressor that failed under warranty. The technician performed the replacement in a timely manner and the system is now working as designed The replacement took approximately 2 hours. The labor charge for the replacement was over $1000. The freon evacuation/recharge was billed at an additional $500 even though no additional freon was added. When I questioned the labor charges, I was informed that a book was used to set the charges in the same way auto repair companies do. I understand the amount of overhead and travel time but $500/hr for the replacement is unreasonable!! The failure of the Ruud compressor occurred after 2.5 years of service so I'm definitely not recommending Ruud A/C units. Please call around to see what other companies are charging for A/C repairs. I got screwed. Hopefully, you won't! read more

My first experience with this company was 3 years ago when they installed an all new heating ventilation and air conditioning system. They cut an extra hole in the ceiling and then wouldn't fix the hole. This hole is about 2 ft by 2 ft. They stuck some insulation in the hole and put a vent over it. You can look up and see the pink insulation. Then, this week the condenser coil needed to be replaced. They looked at it and gave me a quote of $1600 because it would take at least 4 hours and said it would be more if it weren't still under warranty. I called A/C services in Lake Jackson and got it done for $600. It took about an hour and a half. read more

It was a great experience. Jimmie is professional, courteous and very easy to work with. He gave us a comprehensive review of our old system so that we could decide whether or not to replace it. He didn't suggest putting in anything beyond what we needed. A week later he and his crew arrived on time and proceeded to do a smooth and efficient installation. They even did some extra things like switch a vent that had been installed backwards. Jimmie answered all our questions, showed us in detail the equipment in the attic and outside and walked thru the house with us to make sure all vents were working.
