My favorite hygienist, Jen, is no longer working here. I wasn't informed of this until shortly before my appointment and was arbitrarily scheduled with a different hygienist. The experience was not great. I suspect it was due to inexperience. My teeth weren't particularly clean when I left, but I did get water squirted on my face. Zero conversation. I'm looking for somewhere else. Another problem is that Dr Gee is no longer affiliated with this practice. A LOT of other dentists are, so you will likely get to try out several. read more

Terrible experience. I got scheduled for internal bleaching on a discolored tooth, after coming to the appointment they don't have the material to do the bleaching and get a referral for it Instead. Waste of my time. Took the day off of work and lost money for not even getting the service done that I came for. Terrible communication, and terrible quality of customer service. Highly don't recommend! I took my 70 year old mother for a new patient intake and the dentist (Dr. Yuirk, which I'm probably spelling incorrectly because he isnt listed on the site) was super short and terrible bedside manners. He wouldn't explain what he was doing or do a full exam because the front desk messed up and put in the wrong coding and when we asked he was super dismissive and didn't acknowledge the miscommunication. I was disappointed because this place had great reviews and it hard to get my mother out of the house. read more

Yesterday, I became a new patient at Covington Family Dentistry. I hadn't been to the dentist in quite a few months, due to the current pandemic. Being a little nervous to break my quarantine bubble, I was put at ease by the precautions this practice is taking. I checked in from the parking lot and was met at the door for a temperature check. Everyone was masked. Dr Burgett was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. Although I've had a lot of dental work done over the years, I recently developed anxiety related to visiting the dentist's office. She and her assistant, Amanda, put me at ease. They were very thorough with my exam and taking my x-rays. Dr Burgett discussed treatment options with me regarding one of my teeth. Jordan did my cleaning, and after so many months of not being seen, she probably had to work overtime on my cleaning. She was gentle and thorough. She gave me rests when I needed them (chronic illness makes keeping my mouth open for long periods of time difficult). Being a germaphobe, I was very happy to see that when I checked out, the front office person who took my payment (sorry, I don't remember her name), donned gloves to take my credit card to process payment. Very happy with my experience. I was happy to refer my husband to this practice for his exam and cleaning next week! read more

The place to go to squash your dental fears!! Dr. Burgett is the best dentist that I have ever encountered. I usually have lots of anxiety when visiting a dentist. I would postpone needed procedures due to my fears. My first visit there, she made me feel so comfortable. She would take time to explain every step and would take breaks as needed to help me feel comfortable!! Since then, I have had a crown and four fillings done. I totally trust her. I have just had a double root canal done. This is never a pleasant procedure to have done but the excellent Dr Gee and today's excellent assistant Ashleigh did the finishing touches and put the permanent caps on with the minimum of discomfort. Dentophobia is real! Of course no-one likes going to the dentist but for some of us it is terrifying. To be honest, I went for the first time in 20 years today. I woke up Sunday morning with an infected tooth. This morning I called and made an appointment for today. Once I got on the chair, I broke down crying. Two teeth needed to be pulled, they broke at the gum line years ago. I have a bunch more work that needs to be done still. I have to thank all of the staff at Covington Family Dentistry for their compassion and consideration. They did every thing in their power to make me comfortable and let me decide how we were going to proceed. I cannot thank Dr. Reed and the rest of the team enough. They made it possible for me to not only get through today but to look towards a having a healthy mouth again one day soon. read more

The desk staff greet you with a smile and are a pleasure to work with. Dr. Gee, the assistants, and the hygienists have great attitudes and a sense of humor (which helps as going to any dentist can sometimes cause you to worry ahead of time). I'm a little ADHD, and can easily forget such things as doctors appointments but they do a fantastic job with reminders and always scheduling the next visit before I leave. They quoted $ 114.50 for a deep cleaning then charged my husband $ 470.00 prior to the service. When he told them before leaving that he thought the charge was wrong they agreed but said they could not do anything that evening and would have someone call the next day which they did not. Now come to find out they owed us money from 2014 so his total out of pocket should have been less that $74. After two weeks of not hearing from them I called and got a song and dance about the bookkeeper only does checks 2 times a month so they have no idea when they will get our money back to us. Three weeks after the initial issue and still no refund yet! read more

This dentist is not nice people!!!!I went to this Dentist because they have weekend and night so I transfer all my family there. They always worry about payment so they always ask for payment up front before appt. This is fine that way I could decide what I should do or save up to do. At the beginning of the year I would like some crowns done. I have 2 insurance and ask the receptionist or billing lady to check out what is being cover. I had a called back from them and she stated that I can set up my appt. She told me that everything would be cover and I should start my appt now. So I did. But after everything is done I received bills and statement from my primary insurance stated that the claims are being deny. I have been calling both insurance and dentist wondering what is going on. My second insurance pays but my primary wouldn't. I got information from my insurance that they had told the dentist that called in the beginning of the year that it would be cover but we had to wait until the 6 month probation is over since I just got the insurance. I call the dentist telling them why wasn't that communicate to me before telling me to make the appt. I spoke with Debbie and she told me in a mean way that the insurance did tell them but it not their responsibly to communicate to me since they have six people in the office. She was talking very fast knowing that it was wrong for them to do that. She had stated that she will send me to collection for 1800.00. She didn't even apologize. I understand it wasn't their responsibly but they did offer to called both the insurance so I don't get stuck with the bill and at the end they change their tune and make it seem that they are not a customer service place and it not their fault. I was a patient at Covington Family Dentistry along with my 3 children for the past 6 years. I had a billing issue and was treated very poorly by the office manager there. I had already been thinking that I wanted to switch as I didn't think we were receiving terribly great dental care from them anyway. As a result of a very rude office manager and mediocre dental care my family and I have now dismissed this dental office. I would not Recommend this office to anyone that I know. read more

I absolutely adore the folks at Covington Family Dentistry. Mind you I don't like going to dentist in first place, but Dr. Laura always makes sure that I am comfortable and not feeling anything before she gets to work. I cannot have epinephrine, therefore, the numbing medications wear off very quickly. The front office staff and the dental hygienists are the best. They have gotten me in on the same day on more than one occasion for dental emergencies. My husband has also switched to this practice and doesn't have to complain about being told "to floss" repeatedly as I asked them to put in his chart at his first visit that he gets annoyed. I would recommend this practice to anyone, especially those who might have a fear of having dental work done. read more

I decided to try the Covington Family Dentistry for my dental care because they were within walking distance of my office. My first contact (phone) with the staff was a friendly and professional experience. I was not rushed or put on hold and given all the time I needed to "explain" myself. The appointment availabilities were flexible and able to accommodate my work schedule. Upon arrival for my first visit the staff was welcoming and although I was a little uncomfortable the hygienist put me at ease with her friendly manner, her step by step explanations of what she was doing before she did it AND she did not ask me questions while her hands were in my mouth! . Dr. Deno was informative explained in detail his recommendations for treatment and I never felt like he was rushing to move on to the next patient. I was given an estimate for recommendations with the cost clearly listed. All and all this was a great experience, to interact with a team of professionals who get my weird sense of humor is very rare and enjoyable. I would recommend them read more
