Best orthodontist in Renton! We had an excellent experience with Dr. Bill Wan, Mary, and the entire team at Renton Smiles. If you're looking for a knowledgeable and thorough orthodontist in Renton, especially for children's orthodontics or braces, I highly recommend them. We had several orthodontic consultations, but Dr. Wan noticed something important that the other orthodontists had missed: our daughter had never lost one of her baby teeth. He caught the unique situation right away and created a special orthodontic treatment plan that protected her teeth while still moving her treatment forward safely. I was especially impressed with how well Dr. Wan communicated and coordinated with her primary dentist. It really felt like everyone was working together with her long-term dental health in mind, and the plan worked extremely well. Dr. Wan, Mary, and the Renton Smiles team are knowledgeable, attentive, and wonderful with kids. We've been very impressed with the entire orthodontic experience and will absolutely be bringing all of our kids here. Started out ok, but.... they did ask me to pay pre appointment since I don't have insurance. I understand this, but it will become important later. first appointment was an emergency Saturday appointment. Had quite a bit of inflammation . First they x-rayed the wrong tooth and were saying it was that one. After I pointed this out, the x-rayed the correct tooth which was right under the inflammation They diagnosed an infection and recommended an extraction after all the inflammation was gone. I took a week's worth of antibiotics that they prescribed and still had mild swelling so I asked for more antibiotics. They stated that they could now do the infection even with the inflammation and then give me more antibiotics. The scheduling was a fiasco, partly my fault, partly theirs. Finally get and appointment and they call back saying I would have to pay the total for the extraction that day (a week before the appointment). I said I was happy to pay when I came in for the appointment before any work was done. I said I was happy to make a deposit, but was uncomfortable paying in full that early. They canceled my appointment! I've never heard of paying a week before dental or doctor treatment. I'll just find someone else to do the more expensive worked they got too greedy and lost $650 while making $75 read more

I have been coming here for a few years and previously had good experiences with the dentists and cleanings. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing related to billing transparency and how I was treated when I tried to ask questions. During a routine preventive visit, I asked whether the X-ray that was recommended would be covered by my Delta Dental insurance. I was assured it was included in my preventive coverage. Later, I received a $129 bill for the X-ray. When I called to get clarification, the representative I spoke with was dismissive, refused to connect me with the dentist or a manager, and hung up on me while I was attempting to understand the situation. I have requested documentation and I am currently disputing the charge because I was not informed of any out-of-pocket costs before the X-ray was taken. I have always believed patients deserve clear communication about coverage and respectful treatment when asking questions. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my view of the office, and I will not be returning unless the billing practices and customer service are significantly improved. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make changes to prevent this from happening to others. read more

The communication by the dentist was terrible, and the actual filling was not great. The details of my treatment plan were not made clear to me during my initial appointment, and the dentist refused to admit she had poorly communicated those details. She didn't explain that there was a possibility of a root canal until I was numb. She also didn't inform me that one tooth had a cavity, instead of just needing to fix a reconstruction. She also forgot multiple times that one of my teeth was NOT a filling, it was a reconstruction from an old chip. The details of my care were not written down for me, i was simply given a picture of which teeth needed work, so I had no record to show what I was even told in my consultation, leading to the dentist gaslighting me about what I distinctly remember her telling me. Then she didn't finish properly grinding down one of my fillings, which prevented me from biting or chewing correctly. I would not recommend this dentist. read more

I've been going here for about 5 years now and I love everything about the place! It's hidden inside of a building that looks like a credit union. The front desk is friendly, my hygienist Pam is really good and Dr. Kaur never makes you wait more than a couple of minutes. They said I needed a crown replacement after a root canal. After the root canal I choose to see a different dentist. I called them to cancel my appointment for the crown. In part because their office called me 4 times over a 3 day period to remind me to pay $595 IN ADVANCE for my portion after my insurance was billed. They hadn't even billed my insurance before asking me to pay UPFRONT!! So I go to see different dentist who advised I didn't need a crown build up and because there was no separation between my tooth and my crown there was no need to replace it. He just filled the whole that the Endontist made to do the root canal. After the procedure they advised they will bill my insurance and send me a bill. Now THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE! Don't go there unless you don't mind getting the shake down.... bunch of theives if you ask me. read more

OK -I am not sure if anyone is actually happy about going to the dentist however I can say I was very pleased coming back from the dentist. Over the years I have had a few difficulties with dentists (from billing to just packing up and closing down with no notice) so I was a bit apprehensive about going to a new one however I knew I had some significant work to be done. I arrived to a warm and welcoming office with a great receptionist who easily looked up my insurance information since I had forgotten my card. Soon enough I was brought back and Dr. Manchester talked with me before hand to get an idea of what my concerns were and then she performed an in-depth (compared to what I had previously had) exam taking numerous pictures/x-rays. After My Initial exam I was scheduled to come back in on another day for a formal review of what the Dr. Manchester thought I needed and how we wanted to proceed. They were very mindful of cost, time and in general how well I was treated allowing me to feel at ease while scheduling the beginning of what will be a bit longer of a process than I would like - however all of my options were carefully explained to me so I could make the choices I wanted. My next visit was for the initial deep cleaning (they do one side per appointment) which went about as good as that sort of thing can go. The dental hygienist was very nice (as is everyone else seemingly) and thorough. What is an uncomfortable appointment was definitively made much nicer through her careful attention and friendly demeanor. Last but not least I would like to say that about a week after by cleaning I received a hand written note thanking me from the hygienist and it is those little details which separate Renton Smile Dentistry from the rest. read more

Dr. Manchester is an alumni from UW School of Dentistry. She delivers attentive, clarifying and excellent customer service. When I had to have multiple procedures done, she planned out a day for consult. During the consult, she explained and illustrated a diagram of the issues. Manchester will detect your problem, explain the reasons, treatment options, and ask if you have any questions at all. I actually am excited and stress free going to the dentist office because the quality of all staff at Renton smile dentistry goes above and beyond. Trisha (Dental hygienist) is very funny and you're so lucky if you have her. Jennifer works at front desk and is very polite and helpful with any complications and questions you have. Wow! Renton Smile is an amazing dental office! I don't have the time to write everything I love about them so I will try to be as brief as possible. My dad needed alot of extractions for dentures... he was in a very bad shape. The doctor made both of us feel so comfortable, never rushed at all- took all the time in the world to explain and answer all of our questions (very rare to find in medical providers!). Most importantly, he saved as many teeth as can! My dad has already seen 4 dentists at this point on his own. They all recommended pulling everything out. I felt very uncomfortable so I asked my dad to get another opinion with me and I brought him here. I don't know what to do without Yelp. We are both extremely relieved and happy we did! It's only my assumption but I think the other doctors wanted to pull more out which means more $$. But Dr wanted to save as many as they can!!!! Yippee! Staff is amazing too! Medical assistance, Hygenist, receptionist... ALL are so friendly, welcoming, makes us so comfortable and takes time to explain with all questions answered! Extremely knowledgeable and skilled Doctor, Friendly and welcoming staff, Clean office, very good prices, why else would we go to another dentist?!! My husband and I have been happily going to Dr. Manchester for over a year now.She is an exceptional dentist. She genuinely cares for our health and goes above and beyond to make our visits comfortable and positive. Each visit, she takes time to explain what needs to be done and has been fair in her pricing. I am extremely picky when choosing a dentist. Before going to Renton Smile, I was so scared to go to the dentist that I would take anxiety medicine beforehand. My teeth have always been a challenge for me even though I take great care of them. Dr. Manchester and her team have changed that for me. I now go to all my cleanings and get my fillings done when needed without being freaked out. Dr. Manchester is a perfectionist in her work on getting fillings and caps just right. I love that about her. She does crowns and root canals in the office, so I don't need to go through the stress of a new dentist or specialist. She also goes slow when giving shots, which is awesome! I have enjoyed most of her staff. Sunny is a great dental hygienist. She is thorough and kind. All of the staff that has assisted with my fillings have been great too. I went to this dentist for the first time today and it has been a very long time since I have seen a dentist. I have had bad experiences as a child so I was a little nervous going in. Thankfully everyone was super nice and very gentle constantly checking to make sure I was doing okay. I've been visiting this office for a few years now. When I first started, it was owned by Dr. Keh, who was great. It is now owned by Dr. Manchester, and I'm happy to say that she's great, too! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and Sunny, my hygienist, is the best. I may need a night guard, and without even having to ask, they were taking notes to call my insurance to see what would be covered. They're prompt in their responses, and thorough with the exams. Immediately Shay who works the front desk was full of smiles and very friendly.. The Dentist was very gentle and very compassionate! Which was a first for me! I have a Ginormous dental fear as a result I haven't been to a dentist in 8 years. Dr Keh and his assistant(Jennifer) are AWESOME!!! Jennifer is a recovering fearful patient herself so she understands that it's not just in your head. Dr. Keh is very nice and talkative. He'll answer any questions you have. He's more than happy to write you a prescription for oral sedation for any procedures he'll be performing. He's also EXTREMELY gentle. If you feel anything all you have to do is raise your hand and they'll take care of it. The office is very warm and comfortable. Padded leather loveseats and a fireplace in the waiting room make it more homey. They have digital x-rays and computers at each station that allow you to see how they look. I HIGHLY recommend him. I went to Renton Smile because Dr Keh received so many good reviews. I made an appointment and was surprised that Dr Keh had sold the business and the receptionist should have informed me when I told her that I chose Renton Smile because I was impressed with the service of Dr Keh. She told me that she also works with my insurance provider all the time. I figured I would give this new dentist a try but since I cannot take epinephrine in the anesthetic, she treated like I had some kind of disease. She was afraid to do a root canal but she did give me a treatment plan which she modified added 3 more crowns. She took too many x-rays that were not covered under my dental plan and instead of calling to apologize, she sends me a bill for the difference. Since she made the mistake she should pay for it. I do not trust her at all and then she refereed to a dentist to do the root canal and it did not take (I had pay for another office visit) and then now I have to pay to have the tooth extracted and another office visit. maybe if she was more brave and more customer oriented she would cover her mistake in the price since she cannot do any work and I have to pay for an office visit to see my third dentist. I will never visit her again and will need to find a dentist who is not afraid of working on me. She wanted to do a cavity on one of my teeth and she told me if she hits a nerve she will stop her work and send to a dentist that does root canals. Of I am still in severe pain from the root canal that did not take and I need to wait 2 weeks for my husband who is out of town to take me to get my tooth extracted. Very poor planning on her side. DO NOT VISIT HER SHE IS NOT TRULY INTERESTED IN HELPING UNLESS THERE IS NO PROBLEMS!!!! read more

I will definitely not be attending any more appointments at this dentist office again. They are super shady with numerous hidden costs. Before going to this dentist, I called and asked several times if they accepted my insurance and if I would be covered. Of course they said yes I was in network and I would be covered. Well about a month later I receive a bill in the mail for about $230 that I had to owe them because my insurance was not in network. They could of just told me this on the phone, but instead weasled their way around not telling me that. That's super shady and I definitely do not respect them as a dentist office anymore. The number one thing they should do is provide their customers with honesty, which I apparently did not get starting with the very first phone call. They tried to convince me into getting teeth whitening while I was there... Glad I didn't! Imagine the cost that would've been! I was just there for a preventative appointment that would've been fully covered anywhere else if I was in network. You can better believe I will not be going to this dentist ever again!
