I spent my time in the adults only area and practically had the space all to myself. There's an LED screen where the main pool is that plays music videos from a variety of artists. Once you get hungry from all that activity, Decibels has good and drinks. There's also a full bar in the adults only area. It was a perfect way to relax and wind down from a very BUSY conference. It's quite a nice little park with a pedestrian bridge going over the Barren River. It seems to be situated along part of the city-wide bike trail, so I'm excited for warmer weather to take the bikes out for a spin and stop back by! I'm happy to see BG making efforts to have and maintain these parks for the community. Worth a stop by if you're passing through and need to stretch your legs or live nearby and need a break!

Not busy at all. Negative: Might not want to go too late at night. Homeless obviously live there and wash their clothes. You find their clothes hanging all over and some vehicles park below bridge. There was one car that looked like they were packing up their kayak, but another two cars of people hanging out looking like they were up to no good in the woods, but did eventually leave. Overall: I will visit this spot many times in the future. It's peaceful and wonderful just walking the bridge overlooking the view.

They offer an indoor basketball court with a track above the gym, a good amount of classes, outdoor basketball courts and tennis courts. The cost for a drop in class or to use the facility is a very affordable $3 and I've never had an issue getting parking and the staff is very friendly. If you are in the area and want to check out a great facility, you should keep SPCC on your radar!

Moss Wright Park may be one of my favorite parks in the Nashville Metro area! Tucked away north of…read morethe city in Goodlettsville, Moss Wright Park has all the quintessential offerings of a city park plus a few extras! The park itself is huge covering close to 150 acres, and features multiple sports complexes for different sports including baseball, football, soccer and even volleyball! In addition there is a paved walking trail that stretches over 3 miles from entry to exit, and gets even longer if you walk the parking lots that connect the two! The walking path is one of my favorites as it is fairly scenic for a park walking path with portions covered, shrouded in trees and alongside the creek, while the other part is open-air surrounding the soccer fields and dog park, but also still next to the creek. There are also gazebos, benches, picnic tables and playgrounds scattered throughout. The above are things that you naturally find at local parks, but a bit upgraded I would say...and in addition Moss Wright has a fairly newly constructed outdoor gym spot to help with a quick circuit workout. Lastly, this park is full of history from the Bowen House to Mansker's Station plus this park is location to the Goodlettsville Welcome/Visitors Center. Parking is plentiful. No matter which entrance you come in through or what area of the park you are after, parking is available. The park and all the facilities including the restrooms are very well kept from a cleanliness and condition standpoint. Overall, Moss Wright Park is a favorite of mine...funny enough, I am headed there to get a few miles in after submitting this review!

Brought my sister and our kiddos here to play a few times over the last couple of weeks (ages 7, 2.5, 1.5, and 4 months.) Two areas for playing- one side for toddlers and the other for older kids who can climb without needing help. There is a basketball court, pavilion, restrooms, plenty of sitting areas and benches. The park as a little creek running through it with 2 bridges on either end, and a walking path that encircles the whole thing. The creek isn't very deep, maybe knee high? So no scary situations if you let your little one wander around it. My oldest (7) spent the majority of his time at the creek playing with rocks and sticks. (Nature lover at heart ) Perfect little park for strolling through a nice park and letting kiddos run around, or having a little picnic on a sunny day!

We attended a men's basketball game, but women play there too as well as volleyball. This was our first time visiting Western Kentucky University. I'd recommend getting a red towel and taking in a game when you're on campus. Concession stands have regular game day snacks, with free refills on popcorn. AND THEY SELL COLD BEER! Our NCAA conference doesn't allow alcohol sales at college games. We were surprised, but at $5 each, we saw nobody overindulge. The Hilltoppers put on a great show, a nail biter at the very end. Parking garage is conveniently located right next door. Or you can park elsewhere on campus, take in the beautiful grounds, stop at the kissing bridge and maybe even spot a white squirrel. Take in the athletic action if you get the chance. Go Big Red!

Watkins Park was established in 1901, and has 8 acres. It has a community center, a playground,…read morepublic restrooms, picnic shelters, a baseball field, a basketball court, tennis courts, a spray park, a pump track for bikes and skateboards, and a paved walking/jogging path. This park was the FIRST public park in Nashville! Samuel Watkins was a Nashvillian who served in the War of 1812. As a brick-maker and construction contractor, he became independently wealthy, even securing the business for the construction of the State Capital building, and eventually funding the Watkins Institute. The land had been privately owned by Watkins, but used for public purposes such as political rallies and school commencement ceremonies. During the Civil War, Union soldiers overran the park, and basically ruined a lot of the natural resources on the land. He donated this land, named at the time "Watkins Gove" to the city of Nashville in 1870. The city of Nashville opened the park in 1901, setting up the landscaping by natural citizens, and setting up the first children's playground in the city here. The park is beautiful. It packs a LOT in a relatively small space. It's historically significant, as well. It was only due to the popularity of the park and playground that the city of Nashville began seriously acquiring land and plopping as many playgrounds down as they could. Standing in the park, you can see the State Capital building, and it gives you a real sense of appreciation for the gift Samuel Watkins truly was to the city.

Watkins Park? Fang? Something else? Who knows. When/if looking for the park, aim for MLK High and it's right across the street. The area has gone through some significant changes over the years and what you knew about it, say, 8 years ago is no longer accurate (like a good amount of Nashville these days). But this review isn't about the area, it's about the park. And, the park is pretty awesome. With it being just west of Downtown (and with large buildings slowly moving past the interstate), you can get some lovely skyline views while in the park. It's bordered by trees and a stone fence that gives an unexpected bit of character to a city park. There are plenty of mature trees and a good bit of flat green space, making me think it's lovely in the spring time. If you're a walker/runner, the park has a trail just for that. It's a circle (or, circular) so while there are no hills to choose from, you're assured not to get lost. If you're looking for exercise that comes from not running in circles, you're in luck. There's a large tennis court, a basketball court, a couple of playgrounds for the kiddos, a baseball diamond, and a SPLASH PAD! Yep, all of this... in a city park. Fantastic, right? Smack dab in the middle of the action is a large pavilion perfecting for family reunions, cookouts and other food gatherings meant to be shared under wood coverings while outside. The park itself has a nice amount of lot parking, which is helpful since street parking is a bit of an issue. And if all of this isn't enough to get you to visit, Greenbrier Distillery and Marathon Music Works are just beyond the train tracks and tree border. Given Watkins Park's design and proximity to so much, I'm pretty shocked by the low traffic. As much as I hate the phrase, it seems like it's a hidden gem for green space lovers. In the middle of a busy cityscape, I was shocked to experience such a well-planned and paid-out park. Watkins Park has charm, space, activities, and loads of natural beauty. Spring is coming. You should spend some of it here. *Well, not really.
