But we saw that they had a burger with raclette cheese and that was enough to make it unique! Asllani's specializes in burgers but they have other options if you're not interested. Given that there's a couple thousand reviews on Google, I would recommend getting there early if you have a large group. They don't take reservations and there was already a line before the restaurant opened. Since we had a large group and it was a nice, summer day, we opted to sit on the patio under the shade. The burgers are kind of expensive, compared to the US, but they're big. For an extra 8 CHF, you can make it a combo with fries or salad and coleslaw. I didn't know you could actually pick truffle Parmesan fries for the combo and ended up ordering it separately. The burger itself was really good and I'm not sure if it was the raclette cheese. I think even with any type of cheese, the burger would've been just as delicious. I mean, our entire group had different types of burgers and they all really liked theirs. Highly recommend if you're in the area! It's a nice break if you're trying Swiss cuisine everyday. A couple of notes though: they don't take Amex credit cards and they'll charge for tap water.

We ended up ordering take out as that was a 30min wait. My friend and I got the cheeseburger. He got the side of fries and I got the salad. They both were delicious. The menu states "fries or salad, includes coleslaw" but there is no coleslaw. It's more fries, salad, OR coleslaw". My other friend got the Raclette burger and he devoured it. The burgers are a VERY good size. I was only able to eat half of it. Again, make sure you make reservations.

I usually don't review chains... but Les Brasseurs is only a chain of four, with locations in…read moreNeuchatel, Geneva, Nyon, and Lausanne. Les Brasseurs does a brisk business slinging Alsacian-style flammenkuechen, comfort food (including some Swiss traditional comfort food), and as the name indicates, microbrews. I believe all of their on tap offerings are brewed on site, and are available for takeaway in a bottle. They usually offer a white, a blonde, a brown, and a seasonal. For March the seasonal is an excellent stout, and late spring is a tasty peach white. The flamms are great, and the entree (appetizer) flamms are an excellent deal. The salads are decent, and the Roestis are also decent. On Monday nights they offer an expanded menu of Roestis, and the one with mushroom cream sauce is excellent. You can get the beers in all sizes, up to a 5 liter tower, and they're decent high-quality brews. The one caution I have is the 'a gogo' nights, where the portions are a volonte... but the service is nonexistent. I tried the chicken leg night, and for CHF30 I got two rounds of five drummettes, and then got ignored for twenty minutes, and then got ignored after that for forty minutes... which was irritating since I only wanted to pay and get out. Avoid a-gogo... you can probably do better on a regular night with regular service and more reasonable prices. The moules/frites nights are a better deal since one portion is likely more than you can eat anyway. In any case, they're open Sundays and Mondays, conveniently located near the city center, there are enough TVs that you can probably watch one if that's your thing, and sometimes they do movie nights or other special events.

We went here for dinner -- the service was almost nonexistent and the food was all around terrible…read more My brother's burger was over-cooked to the point that it was black and charred. I ordered a "veggie" burger that turned out to be a 3 x 5 slab (on a round bun) of plain tofu (?) with sweet and sour sauce (??) and cold onions (???) .... Not the Swiss brasserie experience we were hoping for.

It's odd, being an expat American in French Switzerland. There are things that you must get used…read moreto... stores are always closed, you are obliged to speak to people upon entering and exiting an elevator, just before lunch and immediately before eating... and it's hard to find a good burger. I'm not sure why this is... perhaps folks prefer the local cuisine, or a juicy horse steak, or maybe they just have never had a big ol' burger. If so, they've never been to the Bockrijder. Looking at the menu, you'll quickly see that it's all they do... that and the odd salad. And of course, they are a full service bar. Since I don't really eat beef that means that I haven't tried 90% of their menu... but the Chicken Norris sandwich I've ordered enough times to make up for that. Spread liberally with the curry sauce (or dig deep and spend another CHF 0.5 for the Magic Sauce...) it's about as close as I can get to a turkey burger back home.Add to that a generous side of fries (and they are good fries, but everyone has good fries over here) and a 5dl pull of draft Feldschlossen, and you've got a meal. The whole affair will run you CHF25-30, but this is Switzerland, deal with it. Also... the kitchen usually keeps bar hours. This alone is worth whatever price it costs! Take the Onde Verte to the Colombier stop.. the door literally faces the train. From Colombier, it's right across the street from the castle and right next to public parking. Look for the cool goat sign painted on the side of the building.
