My husband had the shrimp and steak fajitas, and he was very happy with his meal. We called in a phone order, and it was ready within ten minutes. We received complimentary chips and salsa (very authentic), we were offered drinks and given the menus. So much to choose from. We settled on the Poncho Special plus cheese enchiladas. They both came with rice and beans. The Ponchos special had such flavorful meat and the enchiladas were so cheesy. Both not easily forgotten. The beans and rice seemed to be from scratch and each plate had a bit of lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Two rules. You need to wait to be seated and you must pay in cash. We stopped in Wells, NV at a Conoco station for gas -- near the intersection of Interstate 80 and 93-South. We were pleasantly surprised to see an Indian restaurant (or ANY restaurant in this quite isolated area) next door and decided to drop in to see if they offered any Indian snacks that we might take with us on our onward-journey. The menu showed that they offered samosas (2/$5), but they would need to be freshly fried. We put in our order for four samosas -- and then waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more, along with 4-5 other patrons also waiting for their take-out orders. The waiter had estimated that it would take 10 minutes for our order, whereas in fact it took more than 30 minutes. This is just too long for travelers who need to log a lot of driving hours on a given day. The restaurant might consider having some ready-made snacks in the counter at front, or even to sell them at the gas station. Once we actually received the samosas, they were excellent. Nicely-spiced and hot, served with a cooling chutney. We ate 2 on-the-spot, and saved two for the road. The restaurant's decor is attractive, and the tables were clean.
