This is a fun, and very crowded dance hall! I came in from out of town, and we had fun, dancing, and watching the dance as we are not familiar with. There was a good mix of couples dancing, and line dances. A bit heavier on the line dances, and a lot more of the clientele got onto the floor for these. There were quite a few good intermediate dances. The couples dancing was a bit more sparse, but there were several couples who were very fun to watch! Being from Nebraska, we were not familiar with many of the songs. We did get out on the floor to do a couple that we know, and one of these was a different version, but there were a few others dancing the version we knew in a corner of the dance floor. Overall, a fun spot for a country dance night! There is not much seating, so you can expect to stand if you come late in the night. read more

Unfortunately we came here for a special event, Country EDM night. When we arrived at the scheduled start time of the event, 9pm, there was no EDM music in sight. A few people were even dressed more for EDM and as the night progressed they left. Instead a live artist came on and began to sing with his guitar. (On a side note he was very good) There was no mention of a cancellation of the EDM artist but I can only imagine that was what happened, sometime in the middle of his set he did mention "since this was supposed to be EDM night" and then played a song (still not EDM). For this reason the venue loses some credit with me. I'm my opinion it should get a 3.5 but since that's not a thing I rounded up to be generous. Now for my main review without the EDM fact: The drinks are fair enough prices, around $13 and they are strong. The bar service was very nice and all staff including security were friendly and even hit the dance floor a few times. The inside is super cool themed and a nice spot. Pool tables, darts, a nice bar, a dance floor and stage are all in the main area. Overall an excellent place to hangout and hear country music. The male bathrooms were a little awkward (most toilets with no stall doors??) but most of the small quirks can be overlooked. I would recommend coming here with a slight caveat, if you are coming for a specific event or themed night, don't get married to the idea. A good ol' time in the Largo area! This Cowboys Dance hall is in an unexpected part of town and in an odd place but came into town to help a friend/co-worker with an event and she took us line dancing! Parking was pretty easy to find in the designated lot, but maybe it was because we came pretty early for the line dancing lessons. The cover going in is $5 for everyone. Once I entered, I was taken aback by the space and how huge it was. I've only been to two places where I've learned line dancing and two-stepping and both were more like dive bars and smaller so this was a such a nice surprise. There was a HUGE dance floor and a lot of space for mingling outside of the dance floor. There were a few tables and seats spread around the outside perimeter of the dance floor to sit and take a break at. I saw that a lot of folks brought their own fans, and later in the night I could see why because it got hot, especially after dancing. The bar was big enough to try to grab a drink, even if it was crowded. The lessons were so fun and easy to catch on with the amazing instructor. She taught on the stage when the crowd was big and on the floor for the more novice dances. Overall, a great time was had at Cowboys and I'd definitely come back again if I'm near the area! read more

It was our first time, we were having a girl's night trying something new on a Thursday ladies night. Plenty of dancing space, friendly staff, clearly lots of regulars. Most folks knew the line dances, and there was a very competent instructor. However, for us newbies, it was so frustrating that we left early. There was no consideration for people like us who are not already experts at the dances. It would have been nice to have a few simpler dances that we could have picked up and had fun dancing. As a former dance instructor, I felt pretty frustrated that the steps were so complex we had difficulty learning them. We will probably not return, because although we came there to dance, we just couldn't. read more

This is my new favorite bar. I literally cannot stop going to Cowboys. As someone who doesn't even listen to country music - if you knew me personally - you've know how wild this statement is. The vibes are immaculate. The bartenders are friendly. The management is top-notch. The daily line dancing lessons are SO MUCH FUN!!!! And the drink specials are amazing! Plus, Thursdays are free for 21+ ladies, which is always a plus. I have NO COMPLAINTS. Can't wait to keep getting better at line dancing! read more

This establishment that supposedly is all-American is refusing American legal tender in the amount of $2 bills, a design that is older than the current $100 bills that they would gladly take, the illegality of refusing presented U.S. legal tender aside, Thomas Jefferson, the face of $2 bills, would spin in his grave. I bought a bucket of Stella beers for USD 26.5 and wrote in the total value USD 30. That is, USD 3.5 tip. However, I was charged me USD 56.5!!! As if I would have given USD 30 as a tip and this was not the case, and I doub someone ever do this. They told me that will refund my money but never did it. And now they don't answear my messages. I bought drinks had an open tab for the night. Closed my tab which I only had 2 drinks, Seen it was $6.36 gave a $4 tip, signed it & I have the receipt. I Looked at my bank account on the next day 2 charges were pending, I decided to wait to see if one went off & it didn't. They ended up charging me twice on my card, but the amounts were different. 1 was $8.36 & the other was $10.36. So either they messed up & charged me twice or the added their own tip to the 1st drink. It's not like it's a lot of money but it's the principle. What really makes me mad is, I have been calling since Sunday to see how much the drinks actually cost & what was going on. I even left private messages on here & no response. If you're not a line dancing expert that knows every individual routine to every song they play you're just not dancing. It feels ridiculous seeing 40+ people in perfect synchronization and not knowing the steps so you just sit out. Definitely not a place you can just go to and vibe to the music. read more
