Not my vibes, but it could be yours. I'm trying to find some place to dance, that isn't filled with young people or start dancing too late. I was really hopeful that this would be the place, but it's not. We were here from about 8 PM to 9:45 PM on a Saturday. The back patio was very busy with live music that was quite good. So if I was looking for a relaxing place to listen to live music, then this would be it. They have a food truck, they do allow smoking in the back patio, which is not my favorite, but it didn't seem like many people are doing it so I think you can avoid it if you want to. I was really hoping that there would be more dancing inside, we kept going back into check if there was anyone dancing. For the longest time there wasn't actually even anyone inside except for a few people at the bar. At around 9:40 PM, there were a couple women that started dancing, the problem was I didn't like any of the music that the DJ was playing. I didn't recognize it at all. I don't think it was new music, but it was older music that I didn't recognize. We ended up making a pivot and driving to Nash Keys, which is 10 minutes away and they have dueling pianos on Saturdays. I was disappointed that I didn't know the music, because even if there was only a few people dancing I still would've danced, but being that I wasn't a fan of the music there really wasn't any point to do it. So maybe if we had stayed later there would be more dancing, but a combination of no dancing plus not knowing the music we did not want to stick around. Again, the back patio with live music was quite nice, different vibes so it depends what you want. I probably won't come back unless it's well after 10 PM. read more

This was the exact move for our night out on a bachelorette party. They had live music and the artists were fun and interacted with the crowd. They played Allstar by smash mouth for our bride to be! The sprite in the dirty Shirley tasted like just soda water, however that is a minor issue. The outdoor area with music and food trucks was very fun. The dance floor wasn't very full but that was probably time of day. We appreciated that they followed the rules and adhered to the towns quiet hours! All in all exactly what we needed to not have to drive into Tampa and have a quieter closer to home club experience in Dunedin. read more

Blur is the local nightclub in Dunedin. Visited on a Friday early afternoon while strolling down Main street. Friday afternoon they had a live musician which was nice and relaxing. Drinks not so reasonably priced, they charge extra when you ask for a Cosmo when the pour less than an ounce of a third ingredient. It gets crowded later in the evening but the DJ plays a plethora of music genres which is nice. They also have an outdoor patio with a food truck when you want to take a break. I love the big open window in front so it never gets stuffy inside the club. On Sundays they do a very nice drag show. This club is also friendly to ALL folks. read more

There is something severely sketchy going on in this bar. Whether the bartenders are poorly trained and over serving already inebriated customers, or something darker is happening in here. I understand a saturday night, during the holidays people are getting drunk.... But 4 people in the same hour vomitting all over the bathrooms. Close to losing conciousness. 911 being called and security having to physically carry customers out? I have never, and I mean NEVER in my life seen anything like this. We're talking about an 8 or maybe 10 oz. plastic cup filled with ice and then a little vodka and soda for $9. I'll continue to go for the music but I'm boycotting the bar. read more

Blur was an absolute blast when we visited yesterday! While celebrating a good friends birthday, she expressed wanting to come see their monthly drag show brunch and we were able to reserve a table for our group of 7. We got there early, and found we couldn't go in until 12, but it was best to enter through the back as brunch was served from a local food truck. While we weren't super thrilled about the food quality for the meats in the burrito from that truck, it had nothing to do with the bar and we were happy and fed with lots of liquor and smoke friendly areas. Juno was the host, and she was fabulous. Lots of jokes spread throughout with several songs and lots of costume changes from both performers. Autumn was the co-host for the event, and she was just as incredible. Between the costumes, make-up, and pure athleticism, it's a show you don't want to miss if you enjoy drag shows or want to experience something new! There was opportunities for crowd participation as well that had my friends shaking their butts to earn free shots, it was a great time and everyone was super supportive. The bartenders were awesome as well, very friendly, always ready to get you a fresh drink, and had a really nice system in place for leaving a tab open. The whole establishment was very clean and there was never a line for the bathroom or lack of seating even with a good crowd inside and out. Although we're moving soon and won't be here next month, this was a fun and amazing opportunity to meet some incredible local queens and have a great time with our friends that catered to every aspect of our celebration. Date night with my husband. There is no charge to enter the club which is a plus. We got there around 9 Pm and it wasn't crowded. The music is fro80-90 and there are mix of all ages 21 and up. Inside it's a dance club and outside there is a band playing and it's more relaxed. We had a fun night. Update; we went back on a Friday night. First the clubb had some renovation to the bar area. ITs much appealing. Second, we came rot see the drag queen show. There are two shows on Friday night. At 11& 12. It was one queen show. Fun, but I am not sure I would come back for another show. I come here as often as I can. Or at least, I used to. This last visit has me changing my tactic. The good: It's usually so fun. There is an outdoor patio with a food truck and heat lamps/ tables and chairs. You can still hear the music but it's at a volume that's conducive to conversation. Inside is the main bar with some seating and the dance floor. On a good night the floor is packed and the dancing doesn't stop. Ages range from 21 to 70. Everyone fits in and the majority are 21-45 I'd say. The bad: I just discovered last night that I had just happened to be super lucky the other times I'd come out. Apparently they have more than one DJ and the one from last night was borderline traumatizing. People kept leaving, numerous times we were left awkwardly swaying and looking around while on the dance floor, praying for decent music. Every single patron I spoke to was like "wtf is this nonsense??". I started sending clips to friends, a couple of whom also DJ and the responses were unanimously "yikes ". One of them was that song they usually play in Italian food commercials for Christ's sake. So on a good night this place is a 5 and on a bad night it's a 2.5. I rounded up to 4. From now on we know to check social media to see who is DJing. We will be avoiding any night that has Chris Crave . read more

I have been to Blur Nightclub twice now. The first time was St Patrick's Day in March, and the last time was last weekend. My first experience with Blur was positive, my second not so much. Dunedin was hopin for St Patrick's Day this year. We saw the long line to get in and figured why not. My friends and I hung out on the patio most of the evening and met some nice folks while hanging out and drinking adult beverages. My first visit I would give a 5-star. But that is why I typically do not complete a Yelp review on a first visit. My second trip to Blur last weekend wasn't as pleasant. We started inside by ordering drinks and danced a little. We were pushed around several times by extremely drunk folks. So we decided to head outside to the patio where it wasn't quite as hectic. Or so we thought. I found us a table so we could relax. Within 10 minutes I hear some yelling from the table behind us. At first I thought they were drunk and just talking loud. But then it escalated very quickly. I saw the guy that was yelling who was the same guy that then stood up and threw a punch to another guy at his table. As soon as I saw the guy stand up I yelled at my friends to get up and move out of the way. We then proceeded to see the guy who was punched thrown out of the club. I'm not sure if the other guy was a regular or what was going on but this did not impress us. Not just the fight, but the fact that the guy that got punched was the one thrown out. Not to mention we went up to the security guy at the back of the patio to let him know what was going on and he simply gets on his walkie-talkie and calls for someone to assist. Instead of going directly to the situation as it was occurring. We quickly left this club and went to one next door. Night clubs should be more selective of the clientele they allow through the door. The quaint town of Dunedin has a decent nightlife! While the breweries and restaurants are great, if your looking for dancing, this is the spot! This "gay friendly" night club is small, but fitting for the town. It's not unusual for the club to be packed on a Friday or Saturday. If it gets to hot dancing in the club, you can take a step out on their back patio. This tends to be a bit quieter, and you may be able to snag a table! On hot Florida nights, they also provide a large fan to keep their patrons cool. There is also a second bar out there. The back patio is open and It links to Kelly's and the Chicaboom Room. DRAG QUEEN BINGO! Need I say more? Traila Parks and Natasha Richards host this weekly event, and let me tell you, it is not for the prudish. These "girls" really do pull out all the stops to make it a fun night to be had. If you win in one of the early games, you get to spin the prize wheel which can net you anything from a "Tea bagging" to drinks on the house. We won one game and spun the wheel only to win long island ice teas! There were some awesome drink specials on Skittles and starbusts, and while they sound delicious, I didn't have any. Some beers were very cheap as well. It was a fun evening and I look forward to becoming a regular. There is a drawback though... because it is a bar, there is smoking allowed on the inside. The whole idea is to forget where the hell you are, & live and breathe the kick ass music. I love some fun dance and techno music. La Chica and I rolled up in here after grabbing a slice from Tony's across the street because the bouncers outside were practically encouraging us to do so and we had a good time. It was 45 minutes before closing, which was just enough time to throw a few back, bust a move and head home. I like the the music and the staff, and will definitely be back.
