Arrived here for the Artikal Sound System/Sitting on Saturn/Bikini Trill concert in early November on a Friday night. The area was popping so I followed some people wearing the band shirts before finding myself at the entrance. Jannus Live is probably the most popular outdoor music venue in the St. Pete area. The venue can hold a nice crowd and the staff from the bartenders to the security people to the maintenance crew are friendly. Sound quality is awesome as everything was loud and clear allowing for the crowd to be engaged. Only things that detract from the experience is the pricy drinks (although that's everywhere in general) and that smoking is permitted being an outdoor venue. Some people were smoking during the show getting cigarette smoke in my face. Also some fans apparently don't like when you're taking videos/photos of the performance. Some older guy came behind me and asked me to not take a video cause of the flashing light. While I try to be considerate of others, it's a freaking concert and I want to capture the artist so he can go pound sand and kick rocks. If people could tone down the cigarette smoking and stop being so damn sensitive of phones capturing things, the concert experiences would be prestine here. read more

I've been going to Jannus live for over 10 years now. I've been to a lot of concerts there and always have a great time. I've seen shows from every part of the venue whether it was right at the front on the barricade, all the way in the back corner, upstairs on the balcony and even side stage. The venue itself is not huge so pretty much anywhere you are is a good spot. They also get surprisingly good bands which makes the size of the venue even better because it's more intimate than going to a big arena or amphitheater. I do wish they would get rid of the tree in the courtyard, but that just me. I've been going to Jannus live for over 10 years now. I've been to a lot of concerts there and always have a great time. Jannus live is a great place to see a concert. There are a few drawbacks no seating unless you get VIP limited food pizza ,drinks maybe a couple other options. Make sure you have plenty of rest before you go because you will be standing up close and personal with the bands. read more

One of my favorite venues! I love the feel of it with the tree in the middle and the courtyard vibes. It is all outside with no seating so keep that in mind (bring a fan it's Florida, it's hot) the alcohol is expensive but that's to be expected, but at least the lines aren't long. They always have ample bathroom stalls so at least you won't be waiting in long line there. read more

I love having this outdoor concert venue right in the heart of downtown, but have left the last few concerts I've gone to see here feeling high from the surrounding giant cloud of marijuana smoke -- there is literally no escaping it and I wish I was exaggerating! Sad because this could be such a great spot to watch live music and see artists in an intimate setting. read more

Came for the NSP/TWRP concert on 5/28/2025. This is an outdoor concert area and is pretty nice. Not too crowded and entry was easy. There is security upon entry that does pat downs, so we felt pretty safe. Alcohol and water were available for purchase, and cost as much as any other concert venue. There is a pizza shop that sells slices (cash only) for $5 /slice and an ATM is inside the venue. Only downside I had was you cannot bring outside water, which I understand why, but still not fun paying for multiple waters. Overall, if you don't mind the heat and some bugs, it was a nice area! read more

I've always loved Jannus. I'm into mostly indie music so most of the bands I like play here. It's especially nice with the sea breeze because it's so close to the water. It's nice to walk to the pier before or after a show. There are tons of clubs and restaurants in the area. Jannus shows always sound amazing and have a great vibe! I know they have pizza and drinks but I usually just go for the show. It's one of my favorite venues, for sure! read more

Went here for the first time with some friends. Entry is organized and the show was great, but man the place smells like straight sewage the entire time we were there. We left early because we just couldn't take the smell. Honestly, not sure there's much they can do about that but apparently it's always like that (our friends have gone before) and that night was just exceptionally worse. lol Also, you will be standing the entire time. We didn't try the pizza (it was the only food offering) and the drinks were okay. Bathrooms were needing attention and it was only an hour into the event when we got there. read more

I love this outdoor venue for its uniqueness. Right in the middle of downtown, we have this amazing private, yet public, outdoor venue. I've seen quite a few shows here over the past 6 years and have always had a great time. My only complaint (post-Hurricanes Milton/Helene) is that there is a very potent sewer smell coming from the open sewer grates - I have never noticed it before, but it was EXTREMELY noxious at the last concert I attended. Always a great place to see a concert. It's an outdoor venue but the sound is excellent. Air conditioned restrooms as well as selling drinks and food are key advantages over other concert venues. Paid too much to see a concert in an alley!!! 4+ hours standing in the heat on hot pavement. We were arm to arm. Everyone was getting angry. They pack you in like sardines. No seats. Not handicap friendly. VIP couldn't even see the band. Security is the worst! A fight broke out and they did nothing. If there was a situation, there is only one way in and out. Everyone would be trampled. The acoustics were bad too. You couldn't understand what they were saying when they talked. I will never go back there. read more

Went to see They Might Be Giants and saw a man who had been over-served face plant into the building on his way into the bathroom while waiting for my BF to come out. Security ran over but had no clue what to do and guy was profusely bleeding from his head. As I was outside the men's room and couldn't go in I could only yell for someone to get pressure on the wound and sit him down. Security sat there clueless what to do - basic when anyone is bleeding to put pressure on wound to stop bleeding and sit person down so they don't fall again. Finally a guy took his shirt off and gave it to guy to put on his head. I don't know if there were no paper towels in bathroom or what but men just walked around the bleeding guy wo care. Train your staff better Jannus! No reason a security person shouldn't know basic shit like that. read more

They had great side food options. The pizza looked really good, I just did not eat it. Dont fear their long lines, they go really fast to get in! (They actually have multiple lines most people don't realize) This was my 2nd time back... they first time I went in 2018 it was the perfect crowd. I guess the venue has gotten a bit more popular, it was more crowded... almost uncomfortable. The people where very drunk and unaware of their surroundings stepped on people and shoving people. This is probably the best concert space I've been to in the area. I should make a mention that I did not use their bathrooms but like any large concert venue like this one, I imagine it might be chaotic. Now the best thing about this place is the vendors. They don't overcharge you like most other places will try to. You get a fair drink for a fair price and you're not waiting eternity for service. read more

Have been to several shows here in the past 5 years. Nice setting especially being in DTSP. Once or twice a year group of friends get together and splurge on a VIP Lounge/Suite. House policy is SRO/Festival seating (or in Jannus case NO seating) arrangements; first come, first served. Awesome having your own bathroom, neighbors with prepaid alcohol and food . Lets look at the overall "experience"....first WHYYYYY NO floor seating!!!??? Just makes NO SENSE...house rules even prohibit bringing in lawn chairs etc. Have to remember audiences are getting older; want us to return??? Provide/allow seating....next; food and alcohol are included in the fee to get the suite...understandable...we are aware that food is catered in from adjacent restaurants, will refrain from commenting on the quality of said food items...however in the last 3 years Ive been there; all suite/VIP guests were required to USE THEIR HANDS to place food onto a plate !!! NO SERVING UTENSILs were provided!!!! there are forks for eating but not for SERVING, we really needed TONGS;.... has management tried to put french fries on a plate without them...do we have to show you a picture of what the utensil IS??? Care to explain that??? probably not...hmmm perhaps a written complaint to Pinellas County Health Department may happen...just saying.. Overall, we will be back for a yearly event in the suites of Jannus Live.....cheers!! read more

Recently attended a live event at Jannus. A couple things: 1. The acoustics are terrible! You're standing in a giant echo chamber with Overwhelming reverb and echo. 2. The security staff still think they're running spec ops in Fallujah. PUT THE STEROIDS DOWN.... It's just a concert. 3. All music must end at 11PM sharp due to noise restrictions from the surrounding residences so don't expect to see the late night encore performance. Ne positive is there is plenty of cheap parking in garages in the area. If your favorite act is playing anywhere else, best to skip this place if you have the option. read more

Great hospitality tonight at Jannus! I had to jet quickly back home and leave my party. Let's just say it's been several years since I have been out solo, I didn't know the area, and hadn't used rideshare in a loong time. Ryan from security noticed me trying to find the meet up spot with confusion and immediately offered to walk me from the venue, helped me use the app, waited with me until my ride arrived, AND even double checked the plate for me. All in less than five minutes. I felt so well taken care of to the point where I would feel very comfortable returning for another show! Kudos to Jannus for a great hire! read more

Such a fun venue! There are lots of areas to stand and hang out and listen to music. They have several bar areas to get drinks. We were in the VIP lounge area. We had a private bar area, private bathrooms, couches, and a private viewing area that overlooked the stage. read more

Great venue in downtown St. Pete. Lots of standing area along with elevated areas to see the stage. The sound is really good there as well. Venue allows the bands to make the decision on health checks. There were 2 bars that took card. Pricing wasn't bad at all and the lines weren't bad. They do offer VIP with a spending minimum, I'd personally pass. Venue is small enough that's not needed. I'd definitely see a show here again and make sure to wear comfortable shoes, you stand the entire time. read more

Attended a World Cup watch party here so not the traditional experience but spent 3 hours in the venue. It's a really cool idea, tucked in the courtyard of a city block, capable of holding 2,000 people. The grounds seemed decently maintained. Bathroom was sufficiently large. The bar had a long line but other vendors were brought in to line the north side and their lines were reasonable. My only complaint from watching a soccer broadcast was the excessive loudness. These brick buildings surrounding the venue make for harsh echoes that amplify the sound. I imagine the audio quality is even tougher for a concert. Though I don't wear earplugs to most concerts, I certainly would at this venue. But I still want to see a show here someday! read more

It's a great place to watch a show, but there are two big downsides to Jannus. First, the mens bathroom situation is terrible. It's all the way in the back of the venue, and will be nearly impossible to reach if the place is crowded. If you're up near the stage, going to the bathroom means losing your spot because there is almost no way to make your way through a huge tight crowd and then back again. So my advice is, go the bathroom first, and don't buy any beer, otherwise you're going to have a problem. Second, every time I've been here the place smells like rancid hot garbage water. It's pretty awful. There's either a sewer or a dumpster or something nearby that just fills this place with a nasty stench that you can almost gag on. read more

Saw Blue October last night and had such a good time. Parking was 5.00 and just a short walk away from the venue. The venue is a standing only venue so wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. I pregamed prior to arrival so I was pretty comfortable. The waters we did purchase were 4.00 each. So I can only imagine the cost of cocktails but hey it's a concert so CHEERS. The sound was better than expected. Crowd was phenomenal too. I highly recommend checking a show out at this venue. read more

I've attended two concerts here now, and I have to say that it's my least favorite concert venue i've been to (maybe not saying much, but it just really sucks imo). Not enough seating, not disability friendly (as others have pointed out), and the security and staff is pretty rude for no reason. As a concert venue, the sound here sucks imo. You can't hear the music very clearly, especially from an angle, and I thought it was just a personal thing but both of the times i've been all the people around me were complaining about the same thing. Haven't had this problem at other venues. It's also just dirty and stinks. Maybe that's like "character" or whatever but i just didn't like it. DRINKS (3.5/5): Local beer (can) from Green Bench IPA and Gin+Tonic are outside under an awning, def. Reasonably priced for 3 beers + Gin/Tonic. BATHROOM (3.5/5) - A good number of stalls. "Staff" with options to buy feminine products, fragrance, more paper towels, etc. For a tip. It's how I was able to obtain $2 garage bag during a heavy rainstorm. VENUE (3.5/5): Stood in line for an hr. Before doors open at 8pm, line barely moved as we waited - maybe an inch. You can buy tickets on the second level/patio if you have a large group and need to spend a minimum amount/ABSOLUTELY perfect for when it pours at night. There definitely could've been better communications from the band and venue on their social media when it was pouring rain for a solid 30min. As we thought it might have been canceled and some of our friends already left as a result. read more

If Hilly Kristal (CBGBs) had a sister it would be Jannus. Small out door venue with a big stage that has some great bands perform. From great classic bands (Atlanta Rhythm Section) to up and coming to super hot! They also get very good tribute bands eg Queen. I have seen the spectrum of music and genres. I love the intimate setting with general admission that keeps you close to the stage. A memorial moment was seeing an energetic concert by Fitz & the Tantrums in Oct then seeing them again the next month in NYC when they performed in The Macy's Day Thanksgiving parade. They have a variety of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages and even pizza if you're hungry. I follow them on FB as well as check the Big Board out front to see who will be playing. Very affordable venue. Wear comfortable shoes. Do not recommend bringing a big handbag, it will be an annoyance by the end of the night. read more

This is my favorite place to see a concert in the Tampa Bay area. It is not too big, and while you have to stand for the show, you have a pretty good view anywhere in the courtyard. On this occasion, I saw Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. What a great show! Lukas Nelson opened for them and the main attraction played until 11pm or so. I think the staff is on point here. Going through security was quick and easy, I got drinks from 3 different bars and they all were accurate and pretty fast, and the woman who works the rest room keeps it clean and has a very upbeat personality. There are some new VIP areas you can get into for a fee. It is kind of like hotel rooms along the side with an area that you can stand outside your room. I don't know that the view from there would be any better than the view from down in front of the stage. There is also a new deck area near the back of the courtyard that a lot of people were hanging out on. Like I said, I really like it here, I think it is a great venue for live music. read more

I came here last night for a concert and beforehand did some research on the show and nowhere on their website did it say when the show ended or when the club would close. I prepaid $70 for my tickets 2 months ago and I got off work at 9, showed up around 10:20, and went up to try to get in. I was refused entry because "he only has two songs left" as I watched him from outside the venue play for 40 More minutes. The staff member working the entry was incredibly rude, almost upset that I even wanted to get in. She didn't offer me any options just told me "we put away the ticket scanners". My advice, show up early to your shows here or else you risk not being let in. Won't be coming back here. read more

Do not come here if you have any form of disability because they are not disabled friendly. We bought tickets prior to finding out one of our parties had cancer. We had him sit between a set, off to the side where NO ONE was at. It was completely out of the way and they were taking a while for the next band to come on. Their security guard came over and got in our face. Started cursing me out (a small 5'2 woman) after I kindly explained that they just needed a small break. He then went and got his "buddy", refused to tell me his name and proceeded to curse me out. Meanwhile you have people trashed sitting in the middle of the venue and walkway. I'm really on the fence about Janus. Here's what I like: 1. Kinda off-topic, but they manage their social media really well - helps keep me in the loop. 2. I'm incredibly grateful that they featured two of my top favorite bands within the last six months - The Shins back in May and Band of Horses on October 6, 2017. 3. Nice bartenders. I don't drink and one of the bar tenders hooked me up with an inexpensive virgin drink while most bars end up charging me more for juice than my friends' beers. 4. Great downtown location. 5. Lots of nearby parking garages. Here's what I don't like: 1. Smoking is annoying and even though we're outdoors, it's a bit snuggly and packed! 2. That really large tree is always somehow blocking my vantage point, but of course I'm not advocating cutting down any trees, and the tree really does give the venue character. I'm just an idiot for always finding myself stuck behind it. 3. Everyone is pushing you aside to get back and forth to the bars. 4. Is it me, or is space limited compared to the amount of people there? 5. It's hot as hell in Florida, why do outdoor venues exist? I was dripping with sweat at an October show at 9:30 p.m. I mean I'd love to go to an outdoor show here in December, but my bands only seem to tour in the summers! read more

Great venue for some great concerts. There are several parking garages really close by and a short walk to the venue. It is a mostly standing venue for the shows. A small bleacher area is across from the stage to sit. A lot of security, some food options, and great employees. A large indoor bar upstairs is available also. read more
