My wife went to the market for the first time. We went late in the summer, so not all vendors were there, but what we did buy was fresh. Lots of choices, even organic pet food and treats. Go early if you want low pasteurized milk, which was great. If you like mushrooms, there is a farm who has excellent choices. It is fall veggies now, so mostly winter. Great farmers market, although a little small (All of them are around here) it has a good eclectic group of venders and I think they actively keep them coming. Plus the location is perfect, if you want to grab coffee or breakfast or go for a bike ride / run/ walk. read more

This farmers market is a gem here in Fort Worth, Texas! All of the vendors are lively and welcoming! There is a variety of fresh produce and other homemade artisan goodies to choose from. Some of the vendors offer samples which is awesome when you just can't decide until you bite into and try the amazing flavors they're selling. SNAP tokens are accepted by a few of the vendors; while cash seems to be the primary method for paying for your goodies a few of the vendors do accept card payments. We are never disappointed with the quality and freshness of the foods we have purchased here. I highly recommend checking it and would encourage you to get there early as there are a lot of loyal patrons and once they're sold out that is it for the day! Also, the vendors are easy to communicate with and they all seem to love to talk about their individual businesses as well and educate you on the good practices they follow! read more

Very small, but produce is good. Mostly vegetable selections, raw meat, eggs, and dairy for fresh produce, but there were also baked goods, jerky, canned goods, soups. I was looking for fruit but didn't find any; however, the products that were there were really fresh and delicious! Depending on the vendors you could sample before buying. It could have been the timing that limited the selection. It was a bit cold outside, and I arrived around 11 am which was toward the end of the hours. I'm from California where I'm used to having a ton of selections and vendors at our farmer's markets, so it was different seeing just a few, but definitely worth it to support locals! read more

Everything she has is great, including fresh flowers and candied jalapenos that will take your nachos to the next level! Another vendor sells tamales. I love the black bean vegetarian! This is a year-round market so you now know where to go for your Christmas tamales. Parking is easy. You can use the lot or park on the street. If I'm up early enough -- I speed my way up to the Cowtown Farmers Market to pick up some fresh local produce that's in season! If you get there too late... most of the good stuff is already gone. This weekend -- most of the stalls were stocked full of peaches and squash. This trip, I went home with some cute little fairy tale eggplant and fresh blueberries! There are also vendors out there selling honey, jams and jellies, tamales, soap, cheese, eggs, microgreens etc... and Black Rooster Bakery is out there selling bread and the most amazing galettes!! This is a very small farmers market but there is always a variety of produce and other goods -- you won't go home without buying something! read more

I buy all my meat from Ash Creek Farms, all my produce from Demases Farms, my jams from Kim (forgot the name of her farm), and occasionally shop with B and G gardens, the soap guy, and love me some tamales. I really like this farmers market. It has real local market gardeners that sell good quality items at fair prices. No fake "farm fresh but I really bought it at Walmart" tables here haha. Also not many if any crafty type booths. Maybe a few items alongside actual food items. Wish it was bigger is my only critique. read more

How is there not a review of this yet? Today was my first time coming here, though I've been meaning to come for a long time, I just always remember on the wrong day and forget on the right one. That said, the Farmers' Market is open Saturdays from 8 to noon and in the Summer months they're open Wednesdays as well. Although there were only ten or so vendors when I went, everything looked lovely and fresh and there was a nice selection of items ranging from fresh produce to jams, salsas, fresh breads and tamales. The spicy black bean and corn tamales by Rosa (I believe that was her name) were delicious and the spicy sauce that comes with is piquant and really flavorful. The multigrain bread by Gwin at the Artisan Baker's stand is also delicious. I also grabbed a bag of mixed greens to make a salad with. Total = $12. If you're into trying what's local and seasonal, come here and strike up a conversation with the people actually growing your food. read more

Why is no one reviewing this market? Maybe they want to keep it a secret :) This place is awesome and has become a part of my Saturday morning routine. You know its good when you see chefs from top Fort Worth restaurants getting their greens, tomatoes, and asparagus here. It is open from 8am - 12. This is a unique farmers market because all the vendors are local within 150 miles. This is a big deal! It is great to know where your food comes from and to support your local farmers. There are so many benefits to getting your food local and close...more nutrients, less pesticides, fresh, great price, and of course supporting local. My typical haul is farm fresh eggs (this time they had a faint green shell...love it!) fresh spinach and kale for my Vitamix smoothies, tomatoes, asparagus, green onions (purple and white), radish, tamales and salsa, and natural hand soap and lip balm. The produce changes as the seasons change. You will also find fresh goat cheese, bread, pastries, and pastas, plants and flowers, soaps, coffee, and honey. I would love to see this market grow with more vendors but for now I feel so lucky to have it close to home so it gets 5 stars. read more

As a longtime patron and customer, I have found that the Cowtown Farmer's Market is a dream come true for someone interested in lowering carbon footprint, knowing the origins of one's food sources, eating whole foods, cooking one's own menu choices, and connecting deeply with the very down-home, wonderful staff and farmers who come each week. They are flexible, friendly, offer a wide variety of produce and products, and the prices are reasonable. There is live music once a month, with specialty events including children's activities, demonstrations of cooking techniques (all involving samples, from produce and products found at the market itself), and all sorts of other informative possibilities. Give this place a try. You will want to come weekly, and your health will most likely improve over time from both the experience of selecting your own healthy foods to cook, as well as the comradrie of others who shop there and the fine staff that serves them. read more
