I'm giving Town Talk a 4-star just because. It was my first time at TT and I wasn't sure what to expect. Oh, I heard rumors, but those rumors didn't quite prepare me for my shopping experience. I will tell you there's nothing frivolous about town talk, however, you will definitely find deals you aren't expecting to find. I even found a stuffed animal Texas Rangers horse...And yes I bought it for $5.99. They have things from candy to cleaning products to paper products to clothing. These are all items that are either expired or somewhat close to their expiration date so you need to be aware when you go to select something. I did find a meat stick that was expired, so obviously I didn't purchase it. The aisles are wide and roomy and give enough room for people to pass. The parking lot is huge so you can park right up front. Make sure to take a cart just in case. some of the meats didn't look right so I stayed away...however, some looked good with longer expirations. I give it a four star because they have so much to choose from and the staff are friendly. Candies, chips, cookies and other pogey bait is priced low (for like a dollar) when they're normally four or five dollars in the grocery. They have candles, they have shirts, they have eggs, they have diapers. They have paper plates. They have paper towels. They have cleaning products to remove stubborn stains. They have commercial cleaning products for real low prices. Go check them out. I spent $20 on all kinds of things that would've cost me five or six times that amount in the grocery store. but like I said before,, make sure you check the expiration date. read more

No frills grocery store that is unique. You never know what you will find. I have scored some amazing produce deals here. Be sure and check the prices because not everything is cheaper than a traditional grocery store. One of my favorite buys are the large bagged frozen fries. I went there on 2/26/25. It was a dimly lit store. Customer service was ok. The setup of the store needs work. Boxes every where. The floor was unleveled. But the main issues were the freezes not working properly. Nothing was frozen. The refrigerator temperature was so low the products were warm. I didn't purchase anything due to this reason. Upgrade your store. Just cause you're in a low income area the residents deserve better. I went here due to a tiktok video ugh. read more

Love this place. Especially when the kids are grumbly for more snacks. You can find many options of candy and chips and such. We can fill a cart with 5/$1, 8/$1, and 10/$1 snack items and pay less than $50 for a few weeks of snack items. They often have repackaged frozen foods that are cheap. The kids LOVE the fries, and every once in a while they will have cheap pizza rolls that are decent flavored. Most food stuff that is in the regular looking aisles is not discounted (and sometimes costs more than other grocery stores), but the bulk and repackaged things are almost always a great deal! read more

They have tons and tons of good stuff! We bought a case (12 boxes) of strawberries for $12 and it filled a giant container in our fridge. Also bought 3 boxes of blueberries for I think $6 total! Filled a small casserole dish with extras we sat and ate. They have dog food you can scoop out of a huge tub and put into paper bags costing $1 a pound! And also have fruit crates you can purchase for $1 legit get you a crate and put your funds in it all organized so when you go to check out all the cashier has to do is get everything in the system and then boom! Off to your car you go! Makes carrying all of it into your house much easier and fast and if you have multiple crates they stack nicely so stuff doesn't roll around in your back seat! Forget 20 reviews by 2020! How about texting texting people you haven't texted back since before Christmas! Let that be the new trend I mean what has not been said before in previous reviews. Oh you can bring your own reusable bags here! They do have plastic and paper bag but I rather bring my own bags. Also on Saturday when they have the 'market' open I don't get a shopping cart because it takes me longer to get inside to look at the produce. I just walk in with my bags and grab what I need, afterwards if I need a cart I grab one and do the rest of the shopping. Another thing I will say is look at expiration dates because some stuff may be on the verge of expiring if your not gonna consume it soon. Other stuff you can freeze or has longer shelf life. Also make sure you look at the prices, sometimes they have a special on that item in bulk but when you go to the register they ring it up differently. Don't be afraid to tell the cashier "hey those were on special for 4 x$1 why is it ringing up different " and at that point they go do a price check. The cashiers are good but they do forget sometimes. A lot of times you find new items and then come back a month later and they won't have anymore. This is common so stock up if you see something you like. Remember these are rock bottom prices so they don't accept coupons ,at least they would not let me for certain things. Be patience if going on a Saturday and they do accept cash, card and Apple pay i believe. read more

Located in Fort Worth off Beach Street, and a bit of a drive for this Dallasite saving gal, it's a perfect once a month drive to store kinda savings warehouse that doesn't require any yearly membership. Chaching. You just saved $60 to $125. Score. Now bring your own reusable rocery bags or ask for paper bags, they are easier to recycle or reuse. Yeah, TTF has plastic bags, but just don't, we all know better than that now. For those who haven't heard, it's over several hundred years for those cheap petro based plastic bags to decompose. Yup. Way beyond several generations of lives. So ask for paper please. Moving on. Okay. So you find a parking space in their huge private lot. A big brown and white store warmly greets you. And you grab yourself a handy cart, in great working condition too. Ain't nothing shabby here. Just really amazing food and fantastic sell out prices. Some items are close to one week of their expiration, or some of their manufacters hyperthetical "best" buy dates. Other items are unique, one of a kind flavor or stylizing that just didn't reach its regional target buying audience. So these perfectly high quality foods are now 95% less retail value. Woot Woot!! As you enter to the right side of the store, which is my favorite area, shelves of sweet treats greet new guests. Naturally the Organic chocolate treats caught my attention. Justin's peanut butter cups multi bag was only $1.99, it is usually $5. Thank you very much. I pop my chocolate treats in the refrigerator and enjoy them nice and chilled. Oh yeah. A few steps over is the walk in cooler. No carts allowed in there though folks. Just place your buggy out of the way on one of the nearby ailses and bop inside to see what chilled goodies await. I love me some hot caliente spicy cheese. Yes please. And there was a 3 package deal of ghost cheese, sweet Habanero, and a spicy Jack cheese trio. It was about a pound of smoking hot queso combined in total weight for $3. Anywhere else, and that much cheese would of been about $6 to $8 easily. So, slice away and enjoy the heat. The freezer section is small but with open floor and vertical bins that carry more products. I am personally not a frozen food person, so I didn't buy anything there. The chip aisle was calling me for some reason. I usually crave sweet, not salty. But wanting something crispy for my spicy cheese selections. I found a French Onion Red Rice & Quinoa Tortilla chip for .39 cents. That's right. An expensive high end ingredient product for almost next to nothing. Usual retail cost, probably between $3-$5 a bag. So major score there. They made great nachos, dipped perfectly in hummus, or just plain right out of the bag delicious. Awesome! And there are many more aisles of fresh fruit, crackers, cookies, bread, personal care products, toilet paper, cleaning solutions etc. The cashiers and bag clerks are super friendly too. It only took my one and only visit to convince myself to drive here once a month. It's worth your gas and time for sure. I purchased just a handful of items, but easily saved $20. For an individual or family grocery list, there sure are to be bargains here to fill everyone's needs. Probably a ton of savings too. It truly is OK, but I think for many Town Talk provides some economic relief, hence I'm bumping up the stars. I've known about this place for a while, and have driven past it many times. I've never really had a desire to go in, but today got the better of me. I can honestly say that I doubt I would ever go shopping here, as a) I guess I feel more comfortable with more time until the expiration date (nearly expired items are what drives this place), and b) it's too far to even consider for a grocery run. However, it was a very interesting place to look around. If you are tempted to buy, do heed the advice mentioned in other reviews and check the expiration dates. I might also question the safe handling of the refrigerated foods, but it looks like Town Talk has their own fleet of trucks, so hopefully that means that the perishable items are moved in safe way. I spent about thirty minutes looking around. Pretty much anything you will see in a regular grocery store, you will see here (dry goods, canned good, vitamin, makeup, candy, meet cheese and many frozen items). Due to the eclectic variety (Kosher Ranch Dip anyone?), the items must get sourced from a variety of stores. I kinda wanting to buy something, but did not really seeing anything... But then this giant silver can caught my eye. It had no label, was marked a $1.95 and contained nearly 5 pounds of "Unpeeled Apples for Frying" - It just seemed to weird not to buy. I haver yet to open it, but when I do I'll add a few pictures. Bottom line: Interesting place that if you are trying to save money is certainly worth a look. PS. This place owns the bargain shopping market! Ever feel guilt about the amount of food that's taken off the grocery store shelves and trashed because of "sell by" and "best by" dates? Town Talk is where it goes for the prudent and educated shopper to enjoy for superbly low prices, while working off some first world guilt. Town Talk is nicely organized for an overstock store, especially considering how overflowing the shelves are. Saturday is market day, featuring tonnnsss of produce from local markets for ridiculously low prices (strawberry packages 2 for $1, vs $3.99 at Walmart, etc.). It's important to inspect everything carefully. And, I appreciate that the food does not last too much longer than a week in the fridge because it helps us focus on what we need for right now, reducing waste. Town Talk is like a secret that you want to tell everyone. We try, and most people look at us like "Yeah, ok Walmart is bargain enough." Until they come with us and are blown away. I don't think I can shop anywhere else now cuz the prices are so good! read more

Went for the first time yesterday and love the prices. It's fun to hunt through the aisles and find all the hidden gems at a steal of a price. You know what I hate? Shopping lists. I don't do the grocery shopping in my family (thank you sweetie, I love you). When I do go to the grocery store, it is usually for one or two things (beer and wine). Occasionally though, I have to get 6 or 7 things. Enter the dreaded shopping list, which invariably leads to me wondering the store aimlessly. How does anyone really know where anything is in a grocery store? Why is salsa not in the tomato aisle? Because grocery stores want me to look like an idiot. Do you know the best thing about Town Talk? It is so full of a bizarre random mix of foods, that it renders that evil shopping list completely pointless. Yay! Screw you Shopping List, you jerk. So Town Talk isn't a grocery store, more like the garage sale version of a grocery store if it was in the most eclectic mixed neighborhood ever. I kid you not, they have everything from gallon bags (yes, bags) of salsa and guacamole to vegan pot stickers to strange flavors of cereal you never knew existed (Almond Protein Cheerios). The prices are so cheap that it will make you wonder where exactly they got this stuff from. Pro tip: don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to. With prices this cheap, anything you find to buy is just a bonus, so don't go in with many expectations. We have a few things that we find pretty regularly. We are (aspiring) vegans, so it is awesome to find vegan frozen foods as well as bath stuff. We also always find a ton of tasty chips and crackers. Again, all this stuff is cheap. Think less than half price as compared to a normal store cheap. The store itself is certainly nothing to look at, but it has a certain charm about it which is helped by the great deals and friendly employees who are very quick. It can get pretty crowded on weekends, but it is worth noting they do open up an extra section of the store so there are even more deals. We try to come by once a week to see what we can find. And the only item I put on my shopping list is bargains! But seriously, I hate shopping lists so much. If shopping lists were a person, I would punch that person in the face and not feel bad about it. read more

i have shopped Town Talk Foods for over 30 years at the Fort Wrth locations, but this was my first time at the Weatherford store. I was very disappointed with this store. So much of their stuff was very small packages or jars for, what I thought, a high price. They didn't have a lot of what needed. They did have a few things that were good prices that I found useful. It seemed like the FW store had a lot of items in bulk packages. To be fair I will gp to the FW store to see if they have product like thay had last time I shopped there. read more

I've never been to the Fort Worth location (I was actually on the same road it's on earlier and had no idea), but I have shopped at the Weatherford location multiple times. All the staff are such kind folks. I absolutely love this place and think that it's the gem of Weatherford and likely that of Fort Worth. If you are poor and have very little to spend on food, you can eat nutritiously and like royalty because of this establishment. Thank you for being. You have made my visits to North Texas a joy. Lemme tell you about Town Talk, if you aren't coming here you aren't shopping right. They have a great selection of items with a friendly staff. As it's a salvage grocery you need to get what you can when it's there because it might be gone the next time you go. Shopping here has literally cut my grocery budget in half and I'm at the mindset that if I can't get it at Town Talk I probably don't need it anyway. Being a salvage grocery that means most of the items they have are an amazing deal. They also get vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. First off, let me say that this is NOT the kind of place that you can go to do heavy grocery shopping and find EVERYTHING that you need! This place does not re-stock the same items every week. You never know what you are going to find! They have amazing deals, with a lot of clearances on crackers, cookies, meats, frozen foods, fresh fruit, vegetables, deodorant, mouthwash, seasonal items like chocolate, candy, candy canes, etc, and big bags of random expired candy for 1$! Our favorites are the restaurant quality paper items they sell, such as paper cups, plates, napkins and even big 32oz cups from Racetrac! Yes, some of their food and other items ARE expired! You need to use your own discretion on whether or not they are safe to consume, but you won't find any mold, or stale items in this store. This is an amazing place for people on a budget who don't care about the big, hot warehouse and the millions of people hustling and bustling around for great deals! I hate waste and love saving money. So, the concept of this place rocks my socks. I also care a lot about where my food is coming from and the processes it goes through before I eat it. However, I can't afford to buy much or sometimes any fair trade, organic or otherwise wholesome foods on my tiny budget. This place is peeeeerfect for me. I'm so glad a friend took me here. I found organic, fair-trade tea for less than $1 for 24 individual bags. I can't even find conventional tea at the grocery store for that cheap. And they weren't even expired, just had banged up outside packaging, which I don't care about. I think this place warrants a trip at least once a month for most households. Check for your big, expensive stuff (laundry detergent, tin foil, cleaners, toilet paper, meat if you eat it, etc.) and then make another trip to a grocery store for whatever you don't find. A little planning and effort can make this place a real money saver, too. Some fresh foods can be frozen for later use, like bread and many vegetables. Also, pre-seasoned meats can be cooked and then frozen for use within the next couple months. And this place can even be a great source of gifts, especially if your friends love food and/or cook. The selection here changes daily so don't hesitate to stock up on that stash of beef sticks or sesame thins winking you the lustful eye. There's always an array of cakes and pies in the freezer. As a rule of thumb, stay clear of the grocery-priced aisles towards the back of the store. Follow the store's perimeter for the bargains. Also be prepared for some cart rummaging (especially around the chips section). A couple of mainstays include their big ass bags of Japanese bread crumbs and baking cocoa. As a caveat, check the expiration dates on everything. Expired dry foods I wouldn't fret much about, their frozen meats however... your call. I do miss their 25 pound bags of brown sugar. I've shopped here for years. Been in Seattle for 12 years, couldn't wait to get back to this hidden gem of food stores. There isn't enough room here to list all the bargains I find! I am especially happy when I find frozen ready-to-bake items. Today it was croissant pastry filled with spinach and cheese, and large buttermilk biscuits. Last time, big cinnamon bun type pastry ready to freeze and ice (they were just fantastic). Cookie dough, garlic biscuits, you name it. I cannot make these items for less than I can get them at TT. Like yogurt? Try three CASES of Fage Split Cups for $5. This is one of my favorite bargains. Smoked turkey legs for $1 a pound. Salad mix bags complete with dressing 2/$1. Commercial grade soups - today it was Chicken & dumpling - sooo good! I am always pleased when I shop here! I am always sad that I have to walk away from so many goodies. And Town Talk has the BEST checkers ever. These gals know their job and are always friendly even on Saturday with a packed store. read more

Typically overstocked, unpopular, bad ideas, stock rotated items, or mass packed items that have been repackaged smaller. Saturday mornings are when bulk fruits and vegetables arrive, so the crowd is large. You need to watch for expired dates or damaged packaging. Most is brand names and good quality. It is fun so give it a try. Avoid Saturday morning after 10 am. We find some exotic foods on occasion that we would not try at full price.
