I stopped by on Black Friday to get my boyfriend a Baker brand skateboard, he has been talking about getting one so I decided to gift it for him for Christmas! They were doing some amazing deals this day which was a plus! The staff were super cool and nice! They helped me out and built the board for me, the guy helping me was knowledgeable as well which helped me out a bit more on getting what was right for my boyfriend. The process was easy and quick! I also got my son a shirt, they had a selection for youth which was nice. They also have shoes in here as well. The vibe is pretty chill in here and lots of different options for skateboards. The guy helping also gave me some free stickers which was also pretty cool. I would definitely return back to this store for skateboard needs or even check out more of the clothing and shoes! read more

Took my kid in for his first deck! It was a pleasant experience. Jesse and Anthony both were super friendly and greeted us right away. We had plenty of options with the board selections. I went to go cop me a new pair of new dunks sb and and Instagram says one per customer guy in front of me had 3 to 4 boxes of the same pair of shoes the store wasn't busy so the female working at the counter offered me multiple pairs of the shoe also, I am talking about the dunks that were released Tuesday. If you don't have enough proof look on OfferUp, there are multiple people with multiple sizes. All with Cowtown receipts. read more

A really friendly worker greeted me and helped me pick out a deck and pair of shoes that were right for me. He was very knowledgeable and even helped me add my old trucks and wheels to my new deck. The skatepark right next to the store is a huge plus too. No complaints other than they instantly sell out of Dunks. Will definitely be coming back. read more

"Yay! I'm a fan," says the woman in her 30s...buying a skateboard and all the fixin's for my nephew. This place has a great location and has a skate park next door. They do everything from selling you everything you need to start skateboarding to fixing your board to keep you going. Once you purchase your products, they will customize and do all the mechanical tool stuff to make it work. Cowtown is located at the skatepark at 57th and Union Hills. It's a little shop with very nice people working their. They are super friendly and helpful. I was looking for a board they do not carry, but they were nice enough to offer to order it for me. They have great boards, carrying Sector 9, Santa Cruz and a few others. If you don't know much about skateboards, then you need to understand that these brands are amazing and ride as such. Simply spinning the wheels on one of these boards tell's the whole story. I'm not sure about the Santa Cruz boards, but Sector 9's are still handmade in California... that's USA folks. The boards here start around $99 and go up. The Sector 9 board I was looking at was $109 at Cowtown. The same board at Amazon was the same price, so they are competitive, plus you get to support a local business and meet some cool people. If your thought is that you can buy a cheaper board at Walmart?? ROFL, then you have no idea of the difference. The Walmarts fall apart and wheels don't spin well unless you loosen them beyond what they should be. Save the extra money and get a good board, specially if this is for your kid or grandchild. I have an elderly mom that uses a rolling walker and it needed some bearings. I coulda bought some $2 cheapies on ebay but said screw that - why not get real bearings for the thing that I can actually relube rather than throw out? Sure, I coulda saved a dollar or two down the road at arrowhead mall at one of the skate shops - but I was in and outta this place in less time than it would've taken me to park at the mall with Bones Reds in hand. The service is friendly and quick. Pick a board, trucks, grip, hardware, and wheels, and you'll be in and out in under a minute. They usually have good promotions going on- Their current promotion is a free T-shirt if you buy a complete. Boards can run cheap, from 50 on up. In total, you won't spend much. read more
