I saw the Rothman Orthopedic building in downtown Orlando and thought, "Well, may as well try that practice." I am so happy they have their practice name on a skyscraper! From the moment I walked in, I was helped immediately by friendly staff. I could not use my right hand, and they made sure my new patient check in went smoothly. The reception area is large, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing, as are the radiology room and the patient rooms. Wait time was minimal for every step of my visit. I was impressed with the way the doctor and staff listened to my concerns and acknowledged and discussed them all with me. The doctor explained my issues and treatment plan very well in terms I could easily understand, and he was patient in listening to and answering all of my questions. I was also impressed to see very modern technology used which I have not seen in my many past visits to various orthopedists. I was at a level 10 pain when I entered the office. I was at a zero pain level when I left the office! I am very happy and content now knowing I have such a wonderful doctor and team to take care of my hands and wrists! I will be making an appointment with a shoulder specialist at the practice next week, and I will also be making an appointment for my husband (knee) very soon. Florida Spine Center on Orange Avenue with Dr. Broom and his associates, Dr. Rice, Dr. Rowland, are not one of these doctors that advertise these miracle surgical procedures. Their main emphasis is, what is the most beneficial treatment for their patients. Fact is, they do what is best for the patient. Surgery is the last thing they recommend and they will try everything in order to avoid unnecessary treatments. What is best is for the patient! But when surgery is established medically to be the best procedure, they are known for, their patients to get out of the hospital and going home 1 to 2 days earlier and with less complications. Their reputation at the hospital and with the medical staff is the highest. I've been told by the staff that Dr. Broom is the one that they trust and would be their first choice for their family! My first experience with Dr Broom was in Dec. 2000, due to a head on collision. That snowballed in my having 4 surgeries. The three doctors at the Florida Spine Care Center, Dr. Broom, Dr.Rowland, Dr. Rice are honest, caring individuals with the highest standards in their profession and take their responsibilities very seriously and the trust of their patients! I have over the years had my entire lumbar fused, due to the bad choice of a young person's lack of judgment that resulted in years of suffering for me and my wife. That young person's actions could have killed both of us! It has resulted in the last 25 years, a lot of trauma that both of us will have to endure for the rest of our lives! As of this review we are both 78 years old. I have noticed some of the reviews that are somewhat negative concerning Florida Spine Care Center. And I also noticed that a lot of these people seem to have one thing in common. Have to deal with Workmen's Comp. or something related to them getting some kind of compensation, be it Workmen's Compensation or whatever, so they don't have to work. That makes their review somewhat less trustworthy! Florida Spine Care Center and its doctors will not compromise their integrity! If you are looking for help from these kinds of problems, then Dr. Broom, Dr. Rice, and Dr. Rowland, at the Florida Spine Care Center are the ones that you can trust that they will not do unnecessary surgery, period! Here in Central Florida it is extremely difficult to find the level of professionalism, experience, and trustworthiness. My wife and I speak from experience from our injuries that we received in the accident on December 2000, and I am so thankful that Dr. Broom was recommended to me by a fellow worker. And I will leave you with some information that anyone who drives in Florida will find out if you have an accident and you or your family are injured and you have to go to the hospital. Florida is a No-Fault Insurance, only requires the bare minimum of insurance in order to get your license or to get a tag for your vehicle. Pay attention to this. If you have just the bare minimum of insurance like so many people do here in the state of Florida and you get into an accident that results in the kind of injuries that my wife and I received in our accident. A reality is going to hit you and hit you hard when it comes to medical bills. Because in the state of Florida, they will go by which ever driver has the highest insurance coverage. That will be the limit of the insurance companies liabilities. So if both of you have the minimum insurance and you get into an accident that requires the kind of hospitalization that my wife and I had, trust me, you will not be happy.

Asked me if I felt better and I said a little but I have been doing a sit down job versus my normal heavy lifting job for the past 3 weeks. HE ASKED ME if I wanted to try a higher lifting/bending restriction and I said yes let's see how it goes. My first day at work was a Saturday and I couldn't do the new restrictions more than an hour and had to leave. I've never been on workman's comp before and I called the after hours office to see what I should do about the immense pain I was in. Hours later when I get a call back the P.A. wouldn't let me speak and chastised me saying "you are calling MEEEEE on MYYYYY weekend for a workman's comp issue?" I said I am in pain, What should I do? He told me to call the office back on Monday when it was open!!!! I am going on month three of this injury and the office manager just cancelled me as a patient and my upcoming epidural injection because I begged her for help with my restrictions or figuring out what could else be wrong with me because I cannot bend!! She hung up on me while I was begging for the doctor to look at me again because something is wrong with my back and I cannot physically work the next five days like this! I've not once asked for pain medications and I feel like because I am a workman's comp claim they are treating me like I am garbage!!

In the middle of a COVID-19 outbreak, I've been very careful about taking my elderly father to…read moremedical appointments. I've gotten used to the temperature checks and screening questions before we're allowed entry, the no-touch electronic check-in's and clean/dirty pens, my having to wait outside in the car while my Dad is seen. I am a registered nurse. At Motio yesterday there were no temp checks nor screening questions. The receptionists wore only face shields, not masks. A receptionist came within 2 feet of my seated father and talked as she handed him an iPad and stylus (I told her I wasn't comfortable with her being so close and she stepped back a little). I watched a patient come inside without a mask (the patient was asked once inside to don a mask). I later saw the same patient in an exam room talking with a staffmember while not wearing a mask. We ended up walking out without being seen by a doctor.
