Walking out on the lower loop trail and coming back - there were different views that were pretty cool! It was my first park that I actually walked around at here and it was so casual and gorgeous! I definitely plan to go back! I did go on Mother's Day and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. Got there around 10:30am and it was "one car in one car out". There was a lot of taxidermy inside the visitor center!

However, most of the time there is a lot more open spots to the left. I am currently in a softball league in which the games are held here at Olympic. The fields are always immaculate, but they are only used for games. If you want to have a practice there are other fields nearby. There are also sand volleyball courts behind the softball fields which are always nice to use and usually aren't packed. As this park is right next to the elementary school that I went to, I remember having several field days out on the large field. In the winter, I remember my family and I sledding down the snow filled hills and running back up to go again. There are so many things that you can do here. You can bring your dog to run around, have a nice quiet picnic or even have a birthday party. I seriously can't say enough good things about Olympic Park. The grass is so green and there is just something so special about this neighborhood park.

Bike Park review:…read more Not many parks are big enough for a dirt bike area but thankfully Bayou Gulch is! There are 3 bike areas, beginner, intermediate and advanced. All 3 have obstacles, hills, bridges etc. Kids of all ages and adults could spend many an hour here. I would highly recommend. Negative: there are almost no trees, so in the summer it would be super hot. Notes: the bike park is not in the same area as the playground and baseball fields (I got lost) so double check directions if you haven't gone before. There is a covered table area and a port a potty at the parking lot area. The bike trails are a short walk from the parking lot. Dogs are allowed just leashed at all times.

Four baseball fields anchor the sports side of things, and a sprawling open field beyond them gives you real room to breathe: kite flying, pickup soccer, or just wandering with no destination in mind. Even on a gray, overcast day, the green holds its color and the whole place feels alive. The space-themed playground is the centerpiece for younger visitors -- and honestly, for older kids too. It's genuinely fun, not just functional, with multiple play structures, accessible rubber surfacing underfoot, and swing options for toddlers and bigger kids alike. Scattered throughout the park are standing rocks engraved with planets and space facts -- a nice touch that adds a little wonder to a walk. Some of them are showing their age from years of Colorado weather, but the idea behind them is solid and still sparks curiosity. Three covered gazebos with charcoal grills are spread across the park, making spontaneous cookouts easy. The paved walking and biking path loops the entire perimeter -- roughly a mile -- and connects to Aurora's broader trail network. Tollgate Creek runs along the western edge, adding a quiet, natural buffer to what is otherwise an active, well-used park. Parking is ample, and the grounds stay well-maintained. Best for families with kids of all ages, regular walkers and cyclists, and anyone who wants a full afternoon outside without driving far. It's the kind of place that becomes a weekly habit without you really planning for it to. Mission Viejo Park is free, open daily 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., and located at 3999 S. Mission Parkway, Aurora. It has great playground equipment with this foam like rubbery floor stuff under it to help cushion any severe falls. 2 different types of swings, those for little kids that are like a butt harness and those that are for bigger kids and even adults to swing on. The park has some great sheltered areas that include a table and some bbq's. In the spring, summer and fall is nearly always full of people playing football, soccer and baseball. It's got a long paved walking trail that goes around the entire park. This trail is about a mile all the way around the last time I walked it. I will have to walk it again and update this post. Not like I don't walk it all the time, I just forget how long it is:) Ample parking as well. Great place to get out and get some sun if you're in the area.
