Bike Park review: Not many parks are big enough for a dirt bike area but thankfully Bayou Gulch is! There are 3 bike areas, beginner, intermediate and advanced. All 3 have obstacles, hills, bridges etc. Kids of all ages and adults could spend many an hour here. I would highly recommend. Negative: there are almost no trees, so in the summer it would be super hot. Notes: the bike park is not in the same area as the playground and baseball fields (I got lost) so double check directions if you haven't gone before. There is a covered table area and a port a potty at the parking lot area. The bike trails are a short walk from the parking lot. Dogs are allowed just leashed at all times. read more

There's a two mile loop here that passes by three bike parks for different skill levels. The dog park is right next to the start of the trail and there is tons of parking along with a port-a-potty. The trail was well maintained and had some views of the mountains off in the distance. The trail is pretty flat and easy, maybe 250 ft elevation gain total. read more

I have been coming here since the first month this place opened. It is a good, basic, dog park. The weather in this location is not idea. On hot days, there is very little shade. On cold days, the wind will blow right through your bones. It has two sides that they rotate out, so that the grass can grow back. They put in a water fountain (with dog level) a couple years back, and that has been a big help. The nearby port-a-potty is consistently clean. You are much less likely to run into aggressive dogs (or owners), or overly sensitive dog owners at this park than most. This is a Douglas County Dog Park (not a Parker one). Sadly, this remains the closest dog park to the Parker area. They were supposed to build one several years back (off of Pine lane and Cherry Creek). However, this project was cancelled, and after the economy took a nose dive, the powers that be in Parker continued to roll the dog park funding over for several years, before finally absorbing it back into the general fund. 2+ acres of off-leash dog park for your best friend! Make sure you bring your buddy some water and a bowl. This is a great place to socialize your dog. Owners are very friendly; please make sure you pick up your pets... remains. They have baggies and receptacles. Bring a toy or two. If you don't have a backyard to let your pet loose, this place is nice little treat! Make sure you're animal is vaccinated and has a collar. This dog park just outside of Parker is the only one in the area so there's not much to compare it to, but my pooch likes to be able to run off-leash and it's nice and big with several pine trees. It's a pretty popular place on the weekends do if your dog prefers to be alone .. Mid week is probably better. There are two fenced areas so that one can heal while the dogs run on the other .. There is always fresh water and in the summer months there's even a people and doggie water fountain. read more

I would absolutely, absolutely, absolutely NOT recommend this dog park at all. We've had 3 bad experienced with aggressive dogs there and owners who really didn't care. The 1st occasion, 1 owner's 3 dogs had mine pinned on her back and wouldn't let her get up - one of the dogs started aggressively growling at her when she tried to get up. The owners got irritated at me and said "they are just playing, for god sakes!" Next thing I know, one of the dogs had my dog by the throat and it turned into a pretty nasty event. Luckily my dog wasn't hurt. The owner just "shouted" for his dogs to move to another part of the yard. Like that did anything - we had to leave. The 2nd occasion, a Bull Terrier was aggressively growling at her and the owner was too busy on her cell phone. Myself and another owner had to yell at her to get her dog off mine. The owner had no interest in leaving even though it was clear her dog was aggressive. The 3rd occasion was today and we weren't so lucky. A 10yr old labrador was running around the park grumbly-growling at other dogs. The owner said "he's just old and grumpy" - our dog came up to say hi to her and the older dog suddenly went for ours. It gave her two very bad puncture wounds on the right side of her face that required an immediate visit to the vet, stitches and antibiotics. Sadly she will be visibly scarred on her face. All three of these people thought their dogs were just fine... Our dog is a medium sized shepherd, super friendly, never been aggressive whatsoever. She was screaming when she was bitten on the face. There are MANY people who have experienced aggressive dogs at this dog park. two of my neighbors don't go there anymore precisely because of dog aggression. I'd never, ever, ever advise anyone at all to go there. read more

This review is for the DOG PARK only--- So grateful that there's a place like this where we can take our dogs to socialize and play with other local dogs off leash. It can be a little scary/risky when people bring aggressive & unfriendly or unsocialized dogs to the park (like the psychotic and irrationally defensive Rottweiler owners), but everyone is responsible for their own pets and pet behavior. If another dog puts me or my dog at risk, I leave. Most people and pets are very well behaved and overall a positive experience. The park alternates 2 large fenced in areas (so grass doesn't completely die) with a walking path around both yards and plenty of close parking. They supply garbage cans, biodegradable waste bags, benches, scoops and drinking fountains. The posted policy is to clean up after your own pet which some pet owners do better than others, but a very clean park overall. read more

Good dog park, always well kept and always has bags stocked. Only complaint is there are some aggressive dogs that come here at times and their owners don't control their dog very well. Overall, the people who bring their dogs here are friendly, but I have had instances where people's dogs were aggressive towards mine and they didn't do anything. read more

The Bayou Gultch Dog Park is the best dog park I have been to. There are two section here. Only one is open at a time. I guess it gives one section time to recover while the other section is being used. Rather than being the big dirt-pits that most dog parks are, the Bayou Gultch parks are all grass, complemented with a couple of well-peed on trees that make for a nice setting. The people and dogs who frequent the park are usually very friendly. I have never had a problem with anyone. The park provides poop bags and a garbage can. Please make use of it. read more

I like this dog park. Note that every time I go I make it a point to go when I know it won't be crowded (ex 11:00 am on a Tuesday). There are two different sections but only one is open at a time. I believe both have nice grass. I take my two dogs there one being a wound up puppy and the other is an older carefree dog and both do fine here. I have never had any experience with aggressive dogs but like I said I go during slow times. On one occasion my carefree older dog did come in contact and bite on the nose by what was later determined to be a large Bull snake. For the first 30 min I was FREAKING OUT not knowing much about bull snakes but a ranger type guy came out to the park after I called Douglas county and looked for the snake and provided me with some answers. SO NOTE: Due to location of the park sometimes other creatures get inside the dog park. There is ample parking but some of that appears to be used for horse use also. Overall I like this park I only gave it 4 stars because it takes more than 20 minutes to get from the north end of Parker to it. I wish they would put a dog park in at the north end and not all the way at the south. read more

Really nice park. Most of the parks in south denver that I have been to are all dirt / sand. This one has grass. There are several benches to sit on , but the park needs some sort of shade for humans. I was sitting on the benches baking in the sun. The dog have plenty if trees to lay under when they get hot, so they are taken care of. People were friendly and dogs were too, but every day us different, today there could be some jerk not respecting others. People are people so don't make a one time judgement based on a bad experience. I will be back read more

Nice park. Probably overused since there are hardly any dog parks this far south in either Parker or SE Aurora. As others have said, some owners control their dogs better than others. I even saw someone leave their dog here while they went out mountain biking. If I had known they were doing that I would probably call Animal Control on them. The park is not a babysitting service for dogs. Water is seasonal here. When the fountains are not on people have brought plastic jugs and there are some dishes here. Pet waste bags are always in supply here and I even see volunteers occasionally cleaning the park. Sometimes the pet owners come off cliquish but really I'm here for my dog - not for them. Plenty of parking, portable restroom, and water. Overall not too bad. Kind of nice that it is off the beaten path. Keeps most of the troublemakers out. read more

Best park in the area! This park has so many options for all ages. There is a baseball field, soccer field that can also be used for football, lacrosse, etc. Nice walking paths, big playground area, covered picnic area, Large grass areas to run around. The park is always so nice and never "dirty" feeling. read more

I love this dog park! I have a Husky so I can't take him off the leash unless it's a fenced in area, so it works great for him. The people are always nice (with the exception of this one woman who comes and always yells at people about the way the dogs are interacting with her dog...don't want your dog to be part of the pack? Don't bring him to the dog park). There's a really nice feeling of belonging and home when you go between 4-6 when the regulars come, it's a nice area to chat with people and let your dog get worn out. I've never had an experience with any aggressive dogs at this park, although there was a woman who would bring two Pitbulls, but I'd leave as soon as I saw them come in, so I'm not sure if anything ever happened...I haven't seen her for a while. People bring water and dog bowls and there's always an abundance of tennis balls. ;) read more

Great , very clean park. The dog park areas are small, but big enough for fetch. Nice people and nice workers out there, as I didn't know where the dog ark was located. There are nice walking trails as well as a playground for kids. Nice outdoor areas all around. Well kept! read more

This dog park is wonderful. I took my faithful friend on his first dog park outing today to Bayou Gulch and it was awesome. Everyone that was there was very friendly and the people were too ;) You do need to bring your own water, but there is a "community bowl" that someone left behind. Please pick up after your pets as they do provide bags and a trash can. We will definitely be going back once it warms up, so if you see me with a Steelers hat on and George playing with his favorite orange frisbee, stop and say hello. read more

I have a very timid Weim and this park has done wonders for her she actually greets other dogs now but still not to the point of playing with them. I brag about this park because it's a beautiful place for the dogs to go play its only about 20 minutes away and it's got actual grass! I try to come every weekend but hey life's busy but your always sure to feel welcome when you go. read more
