A group of our friends went to Coyote Ugly. I ordered one casamigos and one 1800. The bartender tried to charge me for 2 casamigos which is a 20 difference in what I actually ordered. She corrected it but this made our group not want to order from the main bar. So our group went to go play pool and started ordering from the bar next to the entrance because the other bartender was friendlier. She made great drinks. She brought them to us. She made no discrepancies on our order. However the bartender from earlier at the main bar began to throw shade over the mic and be salty because our big group moved and didn't want to do body shots. Please get honest bartenders that are not counting other people money because that could impact how well customers treat you. Try Jesus not me. read more

The bar was cool. It's at one of the ends of the strip. Bartender was nice, played the part being mean and rude but I knew she was only playing cause she was talking to us. The only thing I dinged them on is because when i decided to close my tab. My bartender had 2 extra drinks on my tab that belonged to the people in the next seat. When she asked if i wanted a refund i said yes, she said it will take 24-48 hours. I said cool no problem. She then was going to ask the guy who she was suppose to originally charge for him to just pay me back the $18 (the cost of his 2 drinks). Dead Dead Dead on a Saturday night!!! Tony and I went bar hopping in Memphis on Beale Street and we dashed into "Coyote Ugly" on the lower end of Beale Street across from the Hard Rock Cafe. We go to the one in Nashville, so we knew what to expect..except DEAD DEAD DEAD !!! There was only a handful of patrons milling around and I would definitely say less than that if I wanted to stand and count them. There was only 2 girls working and let's face it....I wouldn't have considered them Coyote Ugly Material...but we didn't even get a beer here..We walked in, looked around a bit and opted to dash across the street to the Beale Street Pool/ Billiards Hall..a much better choice!!!! Maybe it was the weather, or the fact it is Winter time. We will try it again next time we are on Beale street to see if it changed any !!! read more

We love Coyote Ugly! We were in Memphis for the weekend & ended both nights with the beautiful Coyotes! My husband received a body shot, I enjoyed the abuse inflicted upon him LMAO (so did he)! The Coyotes were fun & very good at their jobs! I would recommend experiencing this, but don't go into it expecting laidback or proper...this is not the place you are going to find it! The other reviews are apparently from boujee shit heads that know nothing about Coyote Ugly & what it's about! We will be back to see the Coyotes when we come back to Memphis! After having a few drinks, we requested cups of tap water. The bartender pointed to a sign and indicated that no water is free. This is crazy given any type of establishment, but this definitely should be illegal at a bar. And if it's not illegal, it is a completely unsafe and terrible practice. We spoke with two locals about paying for water and the indicated they hadn't been charged in the past, so maybe it's only a special fee provided to out of town folk. Wild. read more

I've only been to two Coyote ugly bars, Chicago and Memphis. Chicago's is a tourist trap, but worth the trap. Memphis, your coyote bar blows. Stopped in twice on different nights during different times of the year. Both times the bar was mismanaged with not enough bar staff. Music is supplied by an Internet jukebox powered by customer choice and dollars. Since the music here is customer choice, you can find an assortment of peoples inside. After wandering around Beale and being told no one would play country music for us, we decided to follow Touch Tunes and head to Coyote Ugly. Concerning the current brouhaha over the bar's choice to throw out a female client who was dressed in "mannish" attire: this review is more about the corporate reaction than the Memphis location itself. PR Lesson: Coyote Ugly CEO Lilliana Lovell responed to a very serious charge in a flippant, ignorant way. 1. She immediately assumes the charge is baseless. Customers very rarely make up issues in businesses; there may be perception issues, but to say that Cat Mahan is "blaming her behavior on us" shows absolutely no regard for her experience as a paying customer. 2. Ms. Lovell believes that when a customer is wronged, the thing they should do is apologize to the bar staff. 3. She is treating the accusation as laughable: "literally hysterical laughing," she says. She refers to a very serious charge as "ridiculousness." 4. She makes the insane assumption that her manager can't be homophobic because they have gay bartenders. That underlines the fact that the company doesn't understand sexual orientation. Ms. Lovell's reactions should have been PR rote: "We are investigating the issue that occurred at our Memphis location, and we can assure the public that our management in no way treats LGBTQ customers differently than they would anyone else. After having a poor experience with Coyote Ugly in Nashville, I thought the Memphis location could make it all better. Surely at least one CU would live up to the spirit exhibited in the film, right? Right? We walked in, and were instantly annoyed by the moderately attractive girl standing on the bar, and was practically screaming into the mic at the few people in there. I suppose she was trying to liven things up, but her voice was so pitchy and annoying, I thought my ears were going to bleed. There also didn't seem to be any other women in there. The few customers there looked burnt out and not having any fun whatsoever, so we left without even ordering something. Strike 2, Coyote Ugly. Coyote Ugly in Memphis is alright. It's a good bar to start Beale at, ladies get in free sometimes, and you can avoid the cover if you buy drinks at the bar when you walk in. That said, sometimes it's incredibly boring, and half the bartenders are fun, and good dancers, and half are abrasive and look like they don't want to be there. So sometimes it's good, sometimes it's one beer and leave. Worth checking out, but on Beale, there are way better. read more

I felt like I was a teen again.. but then I was compared to half the customers. Went out for St Paddy's day with a group of about 10 people. Bar was filled with a bunch of drunk older crowd. The waitress's stood on the bar 1/2 dancing and some where obviously missing their pole! Crowd was 45 and above, music was barely ok. Dancing routines sucked by staff, who half arsed danced, only pulled up the older women, and motor-boated a few guys-at this point we left. Also a very bad thing- The bar was so slow that it in a mostly empty bar we left without getting the drinks ordered. I have been to Coyote Ugly in Las Vegas and had a ball! Very up to date crew, professional (no vulgar dancing, riske` yes, but not stripperish) Able to pull in mixed crowd (Ages 21 to 80) and got customers involved with everything-getting called up to bar was something cool. The manager Terrance Potts was rude and Prejudice I saw him hit a woman after she bought a body shot because she was lesbian he did not allow her to do the body shot but it's okay for men to do them I don't understand that AT ALL , then he pushed her out of the bar I didn't feel safe at all, when I tried to leave my review on their Facebook page they blocked me and deleted my post , how do I know this , I used a friends Facebook to check , this is a unsafe bar, if the management is allowed to act this way, what else will they allowed to go on in the bar, they need to learn from the nashville establishment, City of Memphis you need to shut it down if this is acceptable behavior. read more

I came here as a tourist thinking "THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME," but instead, I was GREATLY DISAPPOINTED. :( The following are the things that suck about this place: 1. They do not give you free tap water, but they will charge you $3 for a very small bottle of water. If you ask for a water backer with your liquor, they will give you about an inch-high of tap water in a glass, but don't ask for more, or they'll treat you like crap the rest of the night. Also, I am pretty sure that not serving free tap water at bars is illegal... am I wrong? 2. While some waitresses were friendly, one waitress (specifically the thinner one with long dark hair that wore sequin shorts) is REALLY mean. She didn't like me because I said that I thought that the "no water rule" was ridiculous, so she kept giving me angry looks all night long... I felt like I was in high school. 3. No one will let you talk to the "manager," because he "gets mad." When I asked to talk to the manager, the waitress refused to let me because she said that he would get really mad. I don't understand what the point of having a manager is then?? 4. Even though the waitresses are shoving their body parts in your face and making out with random customers, I witnessed one guy get slapped in the face pretty hard by a waitress, because he got too close. So confusing. 5. The girl's bathroom is soooo GROSS! I literally couldn't find a toilet seat that hadn't had a dump taken on it. It smells like it hasn't been cleaned in decades. 6. Also, even though the girls dancing on the bars may say "Guys who can dance, get up on the bar!" DON'T DO IT. As soon as any bouncer sees a guy who attempts to get on the bar, the bouncer will violently knock the guy down. I don't understand this place at all. Are they trying to get returning customers??? I have never been to a more poorly-run bar in my life. I think the world would be a much better place if the Coyote Ugly Saloon in Memphis didn't exist. wow i am writing my first yelp review ever because i have to share my experience....please avoid this place at all costs!!!!!! i checked it out for the first time tonight and have never regretted anything so much. a friend and i randomly decided to go but it was slow and empty when we got there at midnight on a friday night, which is obviously a bad sign. when i ordered drinks and wanted to pay with my credit card, they asked for my id which i couldnt find anywhere even though i had just shown it to the bouncer a few minutes earlier. i looked everywhere for it and finally gave up an hour later, when i realized the bar still had my credit card. i went back to get it and the bartender had given it to the manager, who refused to give it back until a showed my id. he was a basically a rude @$$hole that treated me like a criminal, but i understood that they are trying to crack down on fake id's so i stayed calm and told him i would be back the next day with some other identification. lo and behold 2 hours later i checked my bank account and found over $300 worth of unauthorized charges on my card, all timestamped after i left beale. luckily my bank has agreed to reverse the charges, but this bar is completely pathetic for pulling a stunt like that. even if i didnt have this experience, it was such a disgusting and lame bar that i would never return, and i would advise anyone not to ever go there in the first place!!! read more

I've visited the Coyote in Nashville years ago and it was very nice and clean. This one however was horrible. We dropped in two nights in a row. Both nights as soon as you walked in the entire place reeked of vomit. Floors very dirty and sticky and not from recent spills...it was accumulated. Bathrooms were disgusting both nights. One toilet had a trash bag over it...one had toilet paper clogged in it (both nights) and the other was filthy with no toilet paper. With drinks as expensive and weak as they were...you should at least have a clean bathroom. The servers were very sweet and polite and the girls danced well and had good personalities. But even that's not enough to go back. This place needs a good scrubbing. Oh yeah...the roof leaked as well. Very disappointed as I'd built up to my friends how much fun it was. I'd skip this stop when you visit Beale street. read more

The drink charged on the receipt was $7 for a "coyote ugly whiskey" and $2 "red bull shot" for each of the Vegas Bombs he ordered. Errr wrong recipe. To add to the terrible experience I had here, the bartender that overcharged my boyfriend for the wrong drink also took a gratuity on top of the tip that he left her. We had 6 people. Nobody served us at a table. We individually walked to the bar to purchase our drinks. He had no warning, it was just taken off his card. Memphis' Coyote Ugly is a C- at best. The drink prices are higher than some of the other places on Beale Street and for all the things that that you have probably seen in the movie or heard about the other ones the bartenders don't seem that into it. The patrons who come in off the street are more exciting than the employees and I can stand outside and experience them.... And another thing... If you use a debit card there is a ten dollar minimum charge. Long story short come here to watch women dance on bars but go somewhere else for everything else. read more
