SKETCHY. I left my dog for boarding, I left more food than my dog could ever eat, yet my container…read morewas given back empty. My dog was so hungry, I've never seen her like that before. She drank water the entire night, trying to rehydrate. She came home sick with a hoarse bark, I had to take her to her vet to get seen. I went to get my dog at 2:30 on a weekday, the front door was locked. I called and asked if they were open, and was curtly told "of course", I asked why then is the door locked?? Even though my dog just got a clean bill of health from her regular vet, they claimed she had worms and charged me for the medication. Horrible experience, an inspection of this facility has been submitted.

Dr. Czachor was the veterinarian for Rudy, my old (15-1/2), blind and deaf Miniature Schnauzer for…read morethe last 8 years of his life (when we moved to Port Angeles from Texas). As Rudy aged and his medical problems increased, she always explained every condition, test, care plan, and/or procedure carefully, so we always understood what was going on. She always had his health, well being, and comfort as priority. When the tough, end-of-life decisions had to be made, Dr. Czachor and her staff were informative and helpful, and they guided us to make the best choices we could for our beloved Rudy. They even provided us a beautiful box for his ashes and an additional beautiful plaster imprint of his paw, which we will always cherish. We have recommended Family Veterinary Clinic to our family members who have visited from out-of-state with their dogs, who required unplanned veterinary care while here. Dr. Czachor was always responsive and attentive to the care of their dogs. And when we had a family member move here from California, Dr. Czachor is the veterinarian we recommended, wholeheartedly, to them. Thank you, Carmen, for the wonderful care you gave our Rudy. We will always appreciate everything you and your staff did for him ... and for us.

I made an appt. here and waited two weeks for it. i thought I was going to be late so I called them…read more10 min. before I was supposed to be there with my Tibetan Terrier. The woman who answered the called told me the groomer wasn't taking terriers anymore. I said a Tibetan is not really a terrier, then she said the groomer wasn't taking Tibetan Terriers anymore. I asked why I wasn't told this before I was supposed to be there with the dog. She just said sorry. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else and if I were you, I wouldn't ever take my dog to this business.

We rescued our dog from a pretty poor shelter, and at first sight noticed that she was bleeding…read morefrom having injured herself trying to get out of the kennel (something the shelter staff did not take a moment to notice). She still gets very upset when caged. A typical groomer puts dogs in cages between stages of grooming, which is why we had not taken her to one for awhile. But when I asked the K-9 people about possibly doing her either at the start or end of a day when she could be done right through the process without being caged, they pleasantly agreed. They also sometimes ask a lesser price if they were unable to get her very dry when we pick her up, or got started late or whatever. We would not shortchange these people for such minor reasons. They clearly care for these dogs and treat customers honestly. To the person who complained because they wouldn't take their type of dog, I would say that sometimes people make honest mistakes and may not be very good at making them right. That can be frustrating. But I'm guessing that a public message intended to turn people away from an honest place of business for one poorly handled error is not your proudest accomplishment. I too had to seek out a groomer who would handle the type of dog we have, and was happy to discover how accomodating K-9 Klips in Sequim can be. I hope others will ask the right questions and at least give them a try to decide for themselves.
