They have a lot of opportunities for everyone you just have to stay on top of your game if acting is really what you want to do. Make sure you sign up for their emailing list and they have a site called agencypro which is a database they also use for talent, it's super useful you can use the free one or pay for it ( paying for it has it perks trust me I know , it's worked out for me ). They provide an array of classes , all throughout the year. They have classes for kids , teens and adults check it out. They don't just provide one class they have numerous ones at numerous times which is very helpful when you can't make one you make another. Jenna and Ann hold classes as well as others but I have taken classes with them and they're AH-MAZ-ZING! I enjoy the classes I learn so much , and I indeed do see a difference in my acting after the classes , you also meet great people who later become your friends and co-workers. Angela the mastermind is great. She's such a busy lady but she for sure makes time to say hello when she sees you around , she always has your best interest at heart. And she knows her stuff , and knows it's well. I love being apart of Boston Casting and I'm so glad I've gotten all the opportunities I got so far from them and I can't wait to continue with the opportunities and see what the future holds.

My daughters are 10 and 12 and enjoy taking the classes and regularly auditioning for visiting agents. They have extremely busy extra curricular activity schedules, which often conflict with each other. However, Brett has been very flexible about allowing them to make up missed classes. Our older daughter was signed by a New York agent and has had numerous auditions and call backs. She has appeared on a magazine cover, and had a non speaking movie role. What they are really gaining out of the association with Open Call is; confidence, self esteem, learning how to present themselves, understanding rejection, time management skills, self evaluation, negotiation and organizational skills, increased reading speed and better comprehension so they can quickly analyze and memorize dialog and scripts. Most recently they have started to be more fashionable and finding their individual sense of style. They are enjoying expressing their creativity with clothes and different looks. My husband and I think both our girls are very talented and photogenic. What parent doesn't? However, we are realistic. Everything in life requires training, exposure, some luck, solid work experience, and hard work on your part to promote/market yourself as well. Most of all REALISTIC expectations and self knowledge. We are happy with how Open Call manages their office and what they have to offer. Most importantly, our girls enjoy the classes, like their instructors and the staff. They are more confident and comfortable performing on stage and presenting themselves in public. I have recommended Open Call Talent Management to my friends and family.

Applied online and got a call back from Jen who was very friendly, told me to come take a visit for an interview. The building was very nice, prime location in Financial District. Front desk person asked me to fill out an application and led me to Jen after. Jen was telling me that she has been working at John Leonard for almost 30 years holy moly! She was very professional, knew what she was doing, and sounded like she has a great relationship with their clients (employers). Asked me couple questions about my skills and experience, what I want to do in a long run. After the interview, she explained some of the jobs they have in the system and asked me if any of those spark my interest. Really liked this short term assignment in Cambridge, was places there a week after that interview! Went through many assignments with various employers through John Leonard so far, was a great experience to work with all those employers. John Leonard seems to have a good clientele of employers that would treat you well as long as you do your job! Long story short- no matter what kind of career goals you have, John Leonard will listen to you, learn your story to find a great assignments that fit to your needs and qualification! Shout out to Jen, you are awesome!

I cannot rave about Manning enough! I went months and months of applying endlessly, and the only interviews I seem to get were the ones where I had a connection (and I'm not particularly good with networking to begin with, so they were far and few). I searched for 'top recruiters in Boston' and let's just say they all disappointed. I won't mention them by name, but they wasted my time, gave me false hope and had little follow-through on their part, with no contact for months, and I would get pathetic, measly replies after hounding them. After being burnt several times by useless recruiting agencies (you know who you are), I decided that I will try the next one down the list, with no expectations whatsoever. I worked primarily with Dave, and he was so caring and kind, and I finally felt I had my own cheerleader in this dreadful job hunting process. Within a week, he had 3 interviews lined up for me. Within 2.5 weeks, from first contact, I started my new job! I would've started sooner if it weren't for the holidays. They really follow-through, and when they say they're looking for openings for you, they mean it! Before every interview, I had a call with Dave to prep me for what's to come. I didn't even ask for it -- he just did it! They went above and beyond, and they continue to keep in touch with me to make sure all is good in the new place. I met several former Manning candidates in this job and other places I interviewed, and they all have nothing but amazing things to say, and it's no surprise there. I know at this point I am sounding like I get commission for endorsements lol, but the truth is, I was in a difficult spot, mentally, financially, and I would want anyone else in a similar situation to find the same help that I did. Vocational rehabilitation, if you will. Save yourself the frustration, and start with them first.

We were walking from the north end after getting fresh pastries from an amazing shop ( See my other Boston reviews) when we saw a small historical sign explaining the history of North Bennet Street School. It was bustling as we curiously peered in. As we continue to walk up to the corner where we spot a sign for an open house at the school. We immediately turned around and went back. The lobby and staff were so welcoming! They got us checked in and answered a few of my questions. They gave us a low down and a map. Each area had us exploring and listening to the enthusiasm spilling from the students. It was really interesting and inspiring. Each presentation was so specialized and well organized. We spent a good chunk of time learning about the complexity of pianos, paper making, hand bound books, architecture and more! Another highlight was talking to an older gentleman who was a first year silver smith ( yes it was super cool) who was putting the finishing touches on a ring just as we walked by. He took the time to show us all of the steps from a rod of silver to the dazzling finished ring!!!! My feedback is that they should a season or two of web series showing their talents to the world. It would also be a great STEM connection for education. So many talents and interesting people in the area. Highly recommended. I'd love to attend a class or two here!

The admissions committee ghosted my student after they completed all the admissions requirements in time for the priority deadline. My student received an email confirming their materials were submitted in time for the priority deadline. Following an interview, there was no notification of acceptance, rejection or placement on a wait list. Zero. Weeks went by, and then months. My student sent emails to follow up, including to the admissions director. Crickets. We parents also contacted the admissions office and director to ask about our student's application. No response to very polite emails and calls. At one point, we got a human on the phone at the admissions office who seemed to be reading from a script, saying they were reviewing applications and would reach out if they needed more info. Six months have passed since the priority application deadline. Still no word -- except that they have the nerve to keep contacting my student with marketing materials. So, clearly they have accurate contact info. Even highly selective Harvard communicates with all applicants to let them know if they're in or out. Yet, NBSS can't get its act together to offer applicants the courtesy of sending a timely rejection email. There is something seriously wrong, in my opinion, with an artisan and trade school that charges $30K a year but treats prospective applicants and families in this manner. In my view, it's a big red flag, and I'd be curious to know if others have had similar experiences.
