He also taught us a lot about First Aid. So all in all, I now feel very equipped with skills in CPR and First Aid. He is an excellent person to take the course from because he is a former captain in the fire department. It can't get much better than this! He is someone who has performed CPR on many, many people over the years, and responded to a lot of 911 emergencies. You can't go wrong with taking a course from a professional like him! I could never piece together all the information well enough to make sense of what I do had to in the moment. Skip was able to condense the information into a learnable and retainable format that works for even the average person. He also adds additional education to the course so that you come away understanding how people respond to stress and tips on how to stay calm so that both you and your patient are safe and healthy. I will not be taking another CPR course again unless Skip is teaching it!

We had about 12 people in our class, most of them taking the class as a requirement for their job (like me, too). We powered through all of the modules without breaks (we all agreed on this, of course) and were done an hour earlier! It will take you half a day to complete the course. You will do exercises (wrapping a bandage, CPR, AED operation and more tasks) but there is no written test for certification, just participation. My colleague and I walked out feeling more confident and equipped to handle situations that could arise at work (we deal with the public when we are open, so it is a requirement on our employer to take the class). I will sign up again when I have to re-certify in two years with this company.

I'm normally quiet in these types of classroom settings but I felt confident to ask questions and perform the exercises that were required. They have lots of time slots during the day which is a plus but it is on the pricey side for cpr without a live instructor. I would not recommend learning CPR using a VAM for your first time ever. It's really ideal for repeat and renewals as you already know what's going on and what to do in real life situations but that is just my two cents on that topic. The place is clean and they have lots of supplies to clean your VAM before and after use. Parking is easy, instructions were clear and the course was sent in a timely manner each time.
