I took a CPR training class 2 years ago that left a bad taste in my mouth. The instructor was very condescending. I asked a genuine question about what happened to feeling the pulse and she answered in a tone that made me feel stupid. I wanted to know because way back when I was in high school/college, I remember of that sort on a CPR awareness. Aside from this, she just stuck to having us watch the AHA video and do a couple of practices on the dummies. I am so glad that this year, our company hired Vicky instead! She was so engaging, only showed the important parts of the AHA video and really focused more on practicing on the dummies. And best of all, she taught us about babies choking and possible needing of CPR! She made us practice on babies and taught us important differences between CPR for adults and infants. Oh, and another thing she mentioned that was as important as learning how to do a proper CPR: Remembering to look where the AED machines are in public places like coffee shops, movie theaters, concert venues, etc. I hope I see Vicky again 2 years from now when I need to renew my certification! read more

It was all I could do to attend this class. I mean - I know it's essential but how boring to sit through nearly three hours of this stuff! Thinking "I'm doing it for my family" à la Breaking Bad, I begrudgingly signed up, and found it to be the best HR-sponsored event I've been to (high bar...). Vicki made a dry topic immensely entertaining and explained things in a clear and intuitive way that is easy to remember and share with others. As a fellow cheeseball, I'm appreciative of her teaching style and learned a lot. However, If you're one of those humorless wet blankets that would rather sit through a training video, you should look elsewhere. read more

I have taken several American Heart Association CPR/AED courses over the years and CPR Training for Life is by far the best course. Vicki is knowledgeable and engaging with students. The course was both extremely informative and well presented. the hands on practice stations and 1/1 instruction was outstanding. It was my first time being trained for both CPR and first aid. I cannot imagine anyone being able to execute the training better than Vickie. She is able to capture the room with her vast knowledge and along with her quick wit and a little humor keeps everyone's attention for the entire session. Vickie was a great teacher! She was engaging, informative and funny! I think I'd sure want her around if I were having a heart attack! Had to do this as part of my job. I've taken CPR/first aid classes before and they're pretty much all the same...BORING. But this one was different. Vickie was our instructor and she made the class fun. She peppered the lesson with various jokes/puns that were designed to prove a point. She also got right to the point. She did not waste time.
