I took a two-day CSM course from Cprime, held in a Learn iT! conference room (San Francisco). The instructor, Aakash Srinivasan, was both knowledgeable and entertaining, which made for a very effective class. There was a good mix of hands-on activity, individual exercise, and lecture. Aakash's colorful flip-charts were especially helpful. The course did more than enough to prepare us for the certification exam. The course description advertised light breakfast being provided half an hour beforehand (from 8:30 to 9:00). Bit of a sinking feeling when we arrived at the Learn iT! lobby and were pointed to water and coffee. At some point a box of Noah's Bagels and cream cheese arrived unannounced, but I was already preparing myself for starvation mode. (Having learned my lesson day 1, I picked up breakfast on my way day 2.) Our instructor was expecting 30, maybe 31 students... and we ended up having 32. He had only been given materials (handbooks) for 30, so he had to call Cprime to print more booklets and drop them off. (I'm not sure how Cprime could flub that, honestly... isn't registration all done in advance?) Lunch was plentiful, catered from Bamboo Asia both days. Two trays of rice, one tray of chicken, one tray of tofu, and sides for the class of 32. (Sadly the salad dressing was absent the second day.) One nice touch was that warm Otis Spunkmeyer chocolate chip cookies appeared in the lobby each afternoon. The facility was just so-so, but the instruction was spot-on. I've been to various training courses led by different companies, and the SCRUM Master course I took at cPrime's Los Angeles office was hands down the best course I've ever taken. My class was taught my Jim Schiel, a veteran SCRUM demi-God who was dynamic, personable and best of all experienced. He charismatically answered all our questions, made us think in ways we never expected, and made two days of training feel like only a few hours. cPrime was extremely gracious about snacks, breaks and facility amenities, too, making sure we had what we needed to stay focused and engaged. I definitely considering taking more courses with them, and I highly recommend you do the same. read more

Pathetic online course for the PMI-ACP prep. There was significant background noise over the instructor and he looked sleepy half the time. I couldn't even finish the course and just did 7 module, before I determine this a loss. I mean you could hear people talking in the background, laughing etc. I was shocked since the instructor is one of the people who helped PMI create the ACP. I was really expecting a masterpiece. I don't know if they made it like that intentionally, but it was horrible. The follow along student book (whatever) was confusing and didn't jibe along with the course. I count this as a loss and moved onto something else. I don't know about the in person prep but this was a waste of money. When you take the quizzes at the end of the module, they don't give explanations of the why the answer was right or wrong. There are True/False questions which does not exist on the real exam, so clear sign of laziness in preparing questions. The comprehensive exam should have been at least 120 questions like the real thing instead of 60 questions. I mean what a smuck! read more

I highly recommend Mark Levison for the Scrum Master Certification. He was both extremely knowledgeable and conducted his class using tools to ensure everyone was engaged and applied the concepts real time. This class has inspired me to expand my knowledge by reading some of the recommended materials and apply scrum concepts right away on my projects. I recommend this class to anyone that has to manage projects or even teams with direct report relationships. The only reason why I did not give this course 5 stars is because the lunches were pretty horrendous. Also the second day when the weather was a bit warmer, the class conditions reflected this which was pretty uncomfortable during the afternoon. read more

The 12/6-12/7 CSM course in McLean, VA taught by Chris Li was one of the worst educational programs I've attended in my career. The concepts and reference material were poorly organized and poorly presented. There were constant 'exercises' which involved repeating the concepts to a class-member which were time-fillers that hurt rather than helped learning. It was a nightmare and one that my company paid $1000 for. Avoid at all costs. read more

With a caveat. I took the CSM course. I thought the instruction was good and it provided me with the necessary background to support the processes we were already using at the office. I was very happy to the take the Agile Certification Exam afterward. What REALLY annoyed me, was not even a week after the class I was inundated with phone calls and emails to sell me more classes and more certification programs and events. A phone call from someone I had never met before asking me to introduce him to the CTO of my company so they could get more people certified or start running programs at our various offices. I found the whole sales process to be somewhat sleazy, definitely opportunistic and heavy handed. read more

I attended the CSM course in King of Prussia, PA on the 12th, and 13th of December with Jim Schiel as my instructor. Jim's instructional style was informative, and comprehensive. He really made the two days work for us. The class placed an incredible emphasis on discussion, and practicality to absorb the key concepts of Scrum. I decided to take the certification test on my way out the door in the lobby of the hotel where the class was being held and scored a 34/35 in 15-20 minutes. I did the cPrime PMP boot camp over two weekends in February, taught by Jim Park. Beyond providing great prep for the exam, he offered genuinely useful, real-world project management insight. Jim is extremely knowledgeable, a great communicator, and keeps the class loose but moves things along. They aren't kidding when they say EVERYTHING is provided -- right down to post-it notes and highlighters. The location (San Mateo Marriott) was perfect for me, and amenities and food were fine. I was impressed with the organzanization of this class and the location, and lunch other office misc supplies that were all included in the reasonable price for the course. What I didn't like was that at time the instructor did not answer the questions more throughly as I would have liked.. .Also, he never stressed memorizing defintions which was so important on the practice exam. At times certain questions were answered and glazed over.. I have to be very honest. - at times Jim was bias towards the caucasion males in the class paying more attention to their answers as if they be default must know what they are taking about :-) We are all students in the class regardless of experience, age, sex, race, or looks! I'm paying over 1,000 dollarss for this class. . but I've had worse intructors so I'd give it a 3 star with a some areas of improvement.... read more

I took their PMP class back in September and it was a surprisingly pleasant experience from start to finish. I called before I placed my order and talked to Brandon, he seemed very knowledgeable about the class and the requirements to get my PMP and walked me through the sign up process. The class itself was a great experience, all the food & snacks were included (thank God!), lots of good materials and I just loved the instructor Jim! ---- he was smart, knowledgeable and thank goodness he had a sense of humor!!! Just completed the PMP Exam Preparation boot camp taught by Jim Park. cPrime has THE BEST 35 PDU boot camp course for this exam. Jim did an awesome job putting together a really 1st class approach to absorb the key points you need to pass this tough exam. Real world examples and clarifications were an added bonus. The setting was all inclusive, even parking was paid for - See Marvin S's review below which is spot on. Suggest you bring your own water if you don't like Marriot water from the pitcher. I took the PMP boot camp in San Mateo with Jim Park. I credit their course with helping me to pass the PMP exam on my first try, roughly two weeks after completing the class. I expected, and received, a step by step walk through of important items to focus on in my studies. What Jim was able to provide that went "above and beyond" (in my mind) was that he showed me how to "think" like the exam creators. They can be a devious bunch in the way they phrase their questions and in the answers they present for us to choose from. Jim showed us their key "tricks", taught us what values were important to stick with in ambiguous questions, and was able to provide the PMI Logic behind each of the "Right Answers". This is not a class for beginners - I highly recommend this class for existing project managers that want to achieve PMP certification quickly. read more

I participated in cPrime's new offering of a PMP prep class. John N.s class will help me to pass the PMP. His 'technicolor' visual mind maps and interactive techniques (taking notes and participation) to demystify the exam and reduce/eliminate stress on the test taker are recognized. I attended Certified Scrum Master Training recently from cPrime in Lowell, MA, and was to satisfaction. 2 days of training covered all aspects of Agile SCRUM, and trainer was able to answer all questions related real world projects. read more
