We enjoyed this excursion and I would recommend it! I was a little confused about what Crab Island was right up until we arrived. The best way to describe it is, it's an island that is now basically submerged. The entire "island" is covered by water that is about waist-deep on an average person (I'm 5'6). You can swim a little or just walk around in the water. You can also use floats, etc. The boat ride was great. We had two captains, both young boys, probably age 20 or under. They were friendly and nice. The ride took less than 20 minutes, maybe 15 or so, and was pleasant. Once you get to Crab Island, various vendors come by in boats with fresh fruit, Dippin Dots, etc. There's also different stationary boats that sell burgers, floaties, etc. It was fairly crowded when we went, on a Saturday morning. I will say, we did the 2.5 hour excursion. After about an hour, my party and I were pretty satisfied with the experience, so it felt a bit long. I was glad we didn't book the 3-hour experience. But overall, it's a fun experience, very unique. We had a good experience with this company as well. read more

We booked ahead online two months ahead as I noticed the spots go quick for this place. It was the most reasonable priced shuttle I could find with good ratings online and did not spend all day at crab island which is what I wanted. We easily found this place down the street from our hotel and looked for the yellow signs to park. Do not park in the other spots or you are getting towed and get there early because it's limited spots right on the property. We were guided with a short walk to the pier to meet Kirk who was our captain for the day. Kirk was very nice and even had a short convo with us. After Kirk got us there safely and pretty quick we enjoyed some time on crab island and borrowed their floaties they offered on the boat. You can bring your ice chest (not a big one) or whatever you need for the day as there is storage space on the boat. If we are back this way I would book again! As mentioned earlier very reasonable on pricing and gets you to your destination in one piece which is all we wanted. read more

We had questions about the shuttle before we went. We called a few times and left a message and no one called us back. This was a day or two prior to our reservation. We also had sent facebook messages with no response. We went ahead and booked our reservation anyway. Come the day of our reservation, we left late, around 9:45. They said there was some confusion on which boat we had to be on. When we got to Crab Island we were told we had to be back on the boat at 11:30am. I looked at the time and was confused because we booked the 2 1/2 hour trip. I have all the times documented. We anchored shortly after 10. I was the second one off the boat and started walking to the General Store (we were stationed right next to it) to rent a raft. I took a picture with a time stamp of 10:13am when I was walking over. We rented the float at 10:18am. That is when it really clicked and I realized we only has a little over an hour there. We werent even there a full two hours. It was just a little over an hour. I was so excited to bring my whole family to experience Crab Island and it was just a disappointment because we basically we only there for an hour and that is where I wanted to celebrate my birthday. Even if everything was on time, we alloted for travel time, if we had left at 9:30 and had to be back on the boat at 11:30, that still would not be a full 2-2 1/2 hours as advertised on your webpage. We even had to wait 15-20 minutes for people that were late coming back to the boat. My Life 360 says I was there for 1 hour and 33 minutes which is accurate with the people that were late. The last time we used this company was nothing like this. We had a great time and the captains were great. We had the full amount of time and also the glass bottom boat with storage under the seat as advertised. This company does not have an email so we tried calling and they again did not answer. This is an absolute Destin experience you do not want to miss. We made our reservations for our crab island excursion about 3.5 weeks ago and we were glad we did because bookings were filling quickly at the start of the summer vacation season. Everything was quite easy to reserve online and the confirmation process was as clean as a whistle. About a week before our excursion, we received a text message and email stating that our initial reserved time of 2-5pm pushed back to 3-6pm. This was not a problem and actually was a better time of day in my opinion. The email confirmation had links to complete the waivers online, which was a tremendous convenience. The waiver confirmations come with a nice email receipt to keep things very organized. As I'm rather OCD with having my excursion details easily at hand, this was great. On the day of the excursion, text message confirmation was received and provided better details on the parking situation and great landmarks to help with finding the meeting place. While they offer limited parking free of charge, the meet up location is practically across the street from Marley Public Parking lot. We chose to park there despite being the last excursion of the day. If you're going earlier in the day and think you might want to engage in anything after the excursion, it would be easier to use the Marler lot. It was only $5 for the whole day. Just know if you do, you have to pay via app and this can take a little time to download and set up if you're in a pinch time wise. Give yourself ample time to arrive because the traffic can be very heavy at various times of the day (aka ALL DAY). A quick walk from the Marler lot got us to the Crab Island Info check in. The girls at the desk were very savvy in checking in my family and found our completed waivers right away. The office doubled as a spacious shop offering some beach clothing, floaties, snorkel gear, and some water toys. They also offer a limited selection of alcoholic beverages, juice boxes, sodas, and YooHoo! Chocolate drinks to take along. There were restrooms for use while you waited to head to the boat and they were clean and stocked with some nice smelling hand soap. We were escorted from the staging area down the hill towards the dock right on time and were greeted by an excellent captain and first mate. I didn't think to ask their names but they really rolled out the red carpet for everyone on board. The boat was equipped with extra floaties and they kindly inflated any you may have brought with. There was a nice water mat at the stern of the boat upon arrival to crab island. The location itself is somewhat surreal... just a bunch of people having a bang up time in thigh high, crystal clear water. My wife and I decided to use a floater cushion and just lazily floated around. It was absolutely relaxing. The time allotted for the excursion was generous. The captain and first mate were extremely outgoing and had a great time with the guests as well. They really just made everyone feel included with their inviting demeanors. This excursion has been the pinnacle of our vacation here in Destin and we all agreed that this was something we will have to do anytime we come to the area. read more

Be careful with this business. They don't really care if you miss the boat or not. Their attitude is that of,"If you're not paying attention and miss the boat, it's your problem." My family miss the boat even though we got there a little late according to their request time of 30 minutes before departure time. But, we were 15 minutes before the boat departure time instead. We were actually in their parking lot 25 minutes before departure time, but they have such limited parking space since there were marked business parking of other business there. However, we did get our colored wrist tags and while waiting, were buying floats in their store. Next thing you know, I went outside the store with my family and didn't see our group. There was no last call in the store that they're leaving. NONE at all, else we would've dropped everything to join them. What customer in their right mind would want to miss their boat? It seems that the women/girls who work there, do not comprehend this nor do they show any pro-activeness to THINK of their customers. Not ONE worker would go around to make sure that all customers with said tag to notify them that the group was heading to the dock. As though, they wanted it to be secretive or something. Why? And while we were shopping, we ask if we're okay in terms of on-time for the boat. One of them said we were fine. The problem that I saw that day was that there is a lack of communication between the workers there, from the ones in the store, to the one at the dock, and the one who led the group out. Complete lack of communication to the customer and empathy for them. When we've finally realized that they weren't going to do anything about us missing the boat, no refunds, no re-scheduling, nothing. We raise our voices out of frustration, not cursing them or threatening them in any way, but they in turn threaten to call the police on us. Incredulous and insulting customer behavior. AVOID this business at all COST, as I feel that there is some subtle discrimination going on here against minorities. read more

This company is a joke. I rarely write reviews but this is unbelievable to me as a customer. This business has the greatest unprofessional service group I had ever seen while vacationing, consisted of 4,5 young American girls with poor manners and subtle discrimination attitude. They would careless about their customers with a know it all attitude. They sat and talked among each other rather than spending the time to instruct and advise customers who's at a new place. We had a reservation for a 3 pm trip. Unfortunately my son fell sick and threw up about 30 minutes before the trip. I called the company and left them a voicemail about his condition and asked them about rescheduling. I then got a call from Becca who asked me where we were. She was totally unaware of my voicemail. I explained to her about our situation. She told me that the only option was to reschedule for Sunday. I then told her that I will check with my family and let her know if we can make it today. I called the office right back and told them that we were on our way. All of my messages were ignored on purpose. We reached their office at 3:02 pm and they told me that the boat had already left. I asked them why they didn't return any of my calls. They just kept repeating that their check in time was 2:30pm. We were so excited to use this company on my friends bachelorette getaway; however, it did NOT go as planned. The weather was not on our side (I'm talking pouring rain, thunder, and lightning) and instead of giving us a refund, they made us go out on the boat in those conditions. Then when we get on the boat, the two captions were arguing back and forth about where to anchor the boat. Definitely could have been a better experience if they would have cared about their customers and let us either reschedule for a prettier day or gave us a full refund for the inconvenience of the storm. read more

This company didn't consider our safety. They took us out on our tour while it was still lightning, thundering, and raining. We asked for a refund and they said they're still taking us. If we cancelled, we wouldn't get our money back. So, we go on the tour and the captain and deck hand start cussing back and forth at each other arguing about where to anchor the boat. We felt like our safety was at risk, and even the deck hand pointed out the lightning while laughing. We would have been happy to reschedule for the next day with prettier weather but they definitely just wanted to get their money and not refund us. read more

This was our first trip to Crab Island! My son had a wonderful time! Capt. Shawn was very professional and attentive. The crew accommodated everyone's needs, in assisting with blowing up the floaties, and waving down the ice cream boats at the end for us to get some. They took pictures for us and interacted with my son and others. It was a great experience. The only thing I would recommend would be to have bigger or more signs showing where to go. Beware! Thought we'd try this service this time because of their glass bottom boat but hated it. Started off bad from the beginning. Initially called them looking for a different company to get us to Crab Island and when I asked if this was Crab Island Water Taxi the man who answered said no, that they are not a legal business. I should've known then when a business bashes another company, who we actually tried last year and loved, that i should've hung up. Gave them a shot because we Iove Crab Island so much and thought their boat was cool. Anyway, this company charged us $37 per person for 2 HOURS on Crab Island. TWO HOURS, that's all! It was awful. Nobody wants to go out there just for two hours. We paid $40 last year with the other company for full day with drinks and snacks and cool seating in the water. This company is NOT the premier company of Crab Island. They literally drop you off in the water and either stand the whole time or sit on the boat. It's a rip off and they "don't do refunds". Wouldn't surprise me if this company was the one that was not legal! We went out again the next day with the company we should have used in the first place. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS JOKE OF AN EXCURSION! read more
