Cute little drive through in the midst of scenic drive. Usually everyone says their customization for their coffee but the batista may not perfect it. But over here every little detail was paid attention and we didn't even have to repeat or insist. The best part was as we ordered hot chocolate, she noticed kids inside the car and offered to give at kids temperature which turned out to be perfect for their drink :) Would definitely prefer this spot over starbucks read more

Don't want to rate poorly because it's a cute name and a great concept. I just wish the coffee and chai tasted better. The coffee tastes watered down and also burnt. I tried the chai too, and it's a powdered mix instead of being fresh chai. We have been disappointed three different times by the coffee. Disclaimer, I used to work for this company but I left for another opportunity. Crabby Coffee is still my favorite place to get a cup of amazing, organically roasted, coffee. They get their espresso beans from a local roaster in Coupeville on a weekly basis. This always ensures a fresh taste! The sandwiches are perfect for a lunch date and the space is comfortable, often featuring live music on Saturdays. A welcoming barista is always eager to greet you. The quiche isn't worth it. Taste like rubber, the drip coffee wasn't good and $1.40 for refills. Many competitors give a free refill w/drip. I asked if they would clean the pen before I touched it to sign my receipt and he said he would. I let him know I was surprised they don't have better hygiene like other places around town. He said they have a looser approach. I said there are people with compromised immune systems to think about. Caring about others. His response "I don't make the rules" Best of luck Crabby Coffee. The sit-in store has great space inside and pretty good space outside. I often meet here for coffee with friends. The staff are very nice. Sadly, the drinks not so much. They nearly always are very watery tasting with poor flavor. I've had three different flavors of Italian soda; they all tasted fairly the same, like sugar water. Just in case it was simply poor taste buds on my part, I checked with two other people, who confirmed my impression. I'll continue going here; it's a good gathering spot and the space is cozy. And I want to make allowance for businesses struggling through this difficult and expensive pandemic. For drinks I will go with a small tea with the bag left in. No worries. read more

In todays world having a place to go to get warm food and a great cup of coffee that tastes good is hard to find along with affordable prices and great staff. I read some reviews and found some of the reviews came from employees that had to be let go because they did not make the food our coffee up to the owners standards. after being let go they retaliated which is sad. The building was broken into so security cameras were installed. The cameras also protect staff members working alone so I feel the owner does a good job to protect the employees. As a business owner myself, having a high turnover rate these days seems to be the norm because there are so many job openings to choose from. keeping one's job any longer is something some employees don't take seriously along with doing the job. if coffee was burnt and the service was bad that would be the reason the owner decided to let the employee go. The owner is very well respected in our community and I have only seen her in great spirits. As far as scheduling issues, many trade shifts with each other to accommodate their plans because of the early hours and working weekends. Unfortunately Madison B your girlfriend made awful coffee so I waited to get mine when the next Barista came to work. It's a place most people go to get great coffee and food and it is quite busy. Just a little shack down a sort-of road behind some office buildings but excellent coffee drinks and espresso! Staff are very friendly and there are two lines so never a long wait, if you have to wait at all. There are many espresso stands along the highways and byways on Whidbey Island but we will stick with Crabby! Now, if they could get oat milk as an option, we'd never leave! read more

This is the best coffee place in Freeland! My husband and I stopped here when Crabby Coffee first opened, and we come back whenever we're passing through or are staying in town. The gals who work here are the nicest out of all the coffee shops, and the quality of the coffee they use is exceptional. We normally get actual coffee, but there's also a huge selection of other interesting, non-coffee drinks here to choose from. The location is also super convenient. Every time I go too Crabby Coffee around 1-3 there's a young blonde girl that works there, I always make sure too tell her no cream but she's always putting it in not caring that i personally told her not to. But a few days ago when she did it I asked is there cream in this Red Bull Italian soda??and she lied too my face and said no! (Unless your Machines are molding and making a cream like substance) I ask for no cream because I am allergic too it, after 3 hospital visits (that were caused by dairy in my drink) I'm honestly going to have to video tape my next visit just so I don't have too pay for these medical bills!!!
