This is a well loved spot, with locals being willing to stand and wait quite awhile for their coffee. The line to order is short and the proprietress is engaging and charming, then you wait. It took a long time to get our friends, which was annoying. But I would probably come again if in town. The coffee was pretty good. read more

Really, really bad coffee, and rude workers. Very overpriced, especially when they give you an Americana instead of what you ordered. Very unfriendly, which was unexpected seeing as they were a vendor at an event. Would not recommend. read more

Espresso con panna ... The espresso flavor comes through perfectly and the cream is just right for my sweet tooth. I'm from out of town and they were both very friendly to me and courteous to the other patrons as well. Can't wait to go back for another. read more

It was a very hot day. I had my six and three year olds wandering the farmers market with me, bugging me to get them drinks. I approached the lovely little coffee stand, and the zen woman told me they couldn't make Italian sodas but could make the latte I ordered. I explained that I couldn't share that with the girls and asked for water for the kids. She ignored me, I paid and tipped her and asked again. She told me she would answer me after she finished taking some other people's orders which was a very strange reply. My drink took about 10 minutes during which time I watched as she filled up bicyclists water bottles with ice and my kids continued to beg for water. I asked her again if the kids could have water and she told me I wasn't "in her flow." Eventually she handed me my latte. I wanted to remove the dollar I put in her tip jar for her unbearably awful service. Never have I seen someone smile so sweetly while being so nasty. read more

Other than the fabulous coffee and best Chai, ever; Java Gypsy is the best start of the day. Friendly, knowledgeable, they roast their beans and grind fresh, so each cup is perfect. My husband and I have been beginning our Saturday with Heidi and John, now for over 5 years, at the Port Townsend Farmer's Market,with exception when they are participating in a different venue at various functions in the summer months and the break from December to April. Heidi has such a following; her expertise of introducing various people of like interests is amazing. They are hard working and a loving family. We attended the Sequim Balloon Festival and as we were leaving after the evening 'balloon glow' performance , we saw an intriguingly decorated mobile food cart right next to the music stage. It was staffed by a young couple with their delightful little daughter helping out. I went over to inquire if they accept credit cards. (Allright, I prefer plastic to cash because it doesn't create a pocketful of loose change and I don't have to wonder where my Master Card has been). Anyway, of course they said no but they asked me if I've got a long way to drive to get home. I said yeah, it's about an hour away. So the lady offered me a cup of their home roasted coffee if I would promise to likewise do something nice for someone else when I get the chance. Well sure I said and walked away with the cup in hand. After one sip, I had to come back and tell them how tasty it was and ask where I could find their mobile cart in the future. She told me they frequently park near the Port Townsend Farmer's Market. So there you go. Be sure to check them out. read more
