It has been a while since my wife and I have been to a Cracker Barrel. We haven't stepped foot in one perhaps since we lived in Central Texas. That was when we asked a WWII veteran where he would like for us to take him for lunch. All he wanted was to eat at a Cracker Barrel because that's where his late wife wanted to dine at. The parking lot appeared to be quite busy early on a Sunday morning but there were plenty of tables available when we walked in. We were presented the menu and our server, Veronica, cheerfully greeted us. My wife ordered the Momma's Pancake Breakfast and I had the Old Timer's Breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient and we were served our meals in no time flat. Love that! My wife liked how her eggs were fluffy and the sausage had good flavors. The pancakes were fluffy and yummy as well. My breakfast was also good. The hash brown casserole was actually quite good but my wife wasn't a fan. The biscuits were airy and the peppery gravy was quite good. Good food, good value, and friendly and efficient service...however, it was loud in there. If you want to have a nice conversation during a meal, perhaps Cracker Barrel isn't the place for that. Breakfast for two with one coffee came out to just over $38 with tip. read more

All I have to say is wow! I believe it is a corporate restaurant but this place was amazing. From getting seated having my server order my food to them delivering they have a store so much but so amazing! Super friendly like they make you feel super important! My food when the guy brought it out made me feel like I made a great choice.The food was your average steak and egg meat but the flavor of the steak and I could basically cut it with my fork and the biscuit and there side dishes are basic but the way they cook them is on another level. The place was packed the whole time! The price I paid for the amount of food couldn't beat it with a stick! lol you have to go and try it! Was so bummed I never made it back for dinner. We stopped in for Cobbler, but ended up getting brunch. We had their granny Smith mimosa, granny Smith ice tea, fried catfish, and chicken fried steak with greens n a salad. Make sure you try the tea it was refreshing. Catfish was hot, flakey, and yummy. So we're the greens. The mimosa was great (eat a little first). Over the years I've been to many Cracker Barrel locations, almost always for my breakfast. I always order eggs, bacon and pecan pancakes. They very consistently excellent. The thing they solely seem to excel at is those pancakes. They are the right size, thickness, and they have a delicately crispy exterior. I'm not even real big on pancakes, but CB does them right! Went to breakfast ordered the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were not the same as they were one year ago, more like camp biscuits. They brought the gravy on the side. It was less than a half a cup. The people behind us asked to see the manager, not quite sure why I couldn't hear them. Manager stopped at our table and ask if everything was OK? When I told him I didn't think the food was up to par, he told me I should've complained when I got the food. I told him I wasn't complaining, he asked me if everything was OK. Then he proceeded to tell me don't listen to everything on the Internet nothing has changed. After that comment, he comp my meal. On April 27, 2025, my family of eleven visited this Cracker Barrel in Ocala, 3801 SW College Rd, Ocala, FL 34474-5725, expecting a wait for seating--but the 45-minute to an hour delay for food was unacceptable. My mother and stepfather, both with health conditions, weren't even offered biscuits until I requested them. The waitress admitted every table around us, including another large party that arrived later, was served first. Yet, the manager falsely claimed we had only waited 25 minutes--dismissing our concerns. When our food finally arrived, it was terrible--burnt pancakes, hair in my nephew's meal, cold grits, and pecan French toast with no pecans or toppings. The manager offered no real solution and simply blamed the cooks. Having visited many Cracker Barrel locations, this experience was disgraceful. We felt ignored and dismissed. Corporate must intervene--not to fire anyone, but to enforce proper training and accountability. No customer should ever endure dishonesty, poor service, or subpar food at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. If I could give 0 stars I would. Hands down worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant and ruined my Easter dinner out with my mom. I live close to this establishment and we frequent here a lot. Normally service is amazing and food is hot. Unfortunately on Easter the only thing hot about our meal was the dirty plates and the brick biscuits. I completely understand specials can have their limits I requested to change the green beans due to not being able to consume them since having Covid. Instead of being informed I couldn't change my side my waitress snapped at me with not being able to change it out for a different side despite it not stating on the menu that the special could not be altered for dietary reasons. When it was brought to our waitress's attention that we had horrible food delivered to us she just took the plates away.. no apologies or offers to grab a manager. I get holidays can be stressful but I've honestly seen that restaurant way more busy on a Sunday night than I did on this holiday. I won't throw are waitress name under the bus out of respect for the awesome waitresses that have served us in the past. I definitely will not be back for a holiday meal. read more

Ordered through DoorDash at 7:41pm, the 3piece chicken meal. 83 minutes later my dasher notifies me the restaurant said they didn't have any chicken. 2 minutes after that, Cracker Barrel closed their DoorDash ordering for the night and canceled my order, but I had already contacted DoorDash support about them running out the clock I stead of canceling my order in time to place an order elsewhere. My family and I ate here this past weekend, and we had a great experience! Our waitress was AMAZING, I wish I would have written her name down so I could mention her. She was so nice and caring toward our toddler. The restaurant and store are decorated for Christmas and have some amazing things like holiday mugs, snow globes, warm and fuzzy sweaters, and beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Our whole experience was great including the service, the food, the décor, and the company. We started with fried pickles, which my aunt and uncle had never tried before, but really liked. I had the fried catfish, biscuits, hashbrown tots, hashbrown casserole, and green beans. My husband got the country fried turkey. Everything was served quickly, cooked perfectly, was hot and fresh, and was delicious. The cornmeal catfish better, the house made ranch, and the cheesy hashbrown casserole hit the spot! We got a piece of the chocolate Coke cake to go, and it never disappoints with its rich taste and fudgy icing. Rating from F to A+++, I give it an A+++! read more

On the drive to our next stop, I saw a few billboard ads on Cracker Barrel's newest item - Stuffed Cheesecake Pancakes. We decided to stop by for lunch. There is a storefront you walk through in order to get to the restaurant, with an old fashioned country general store theme. I debated on what to order, but ultimately decided on the stuffed cheesecake pancakes that were advertised (they ran out of strawberries and offered blueberries as a substitute.) We also ordered the chicken and dumplings, loaded hash brown casserole tots, macaroni and cheese and corn muffins. The stuffed cheesecake pancakes were tasty. However, if I visited another location, I'd try another item on the menu. The chicken and dumplings did not look appetizing and didn't taste great either. Last week, I decided to order take out for myself and my family from this Cracker Barrel location. It had been years since we had eaten at a Cracker Barrel. The atmosphere picking up our order was pleasant and friendly, but that was the only positive part of the experience. The food was extremely subpar, seeming more like leftovers than a fresh meal. Portion sizes were small (especially the meatloaf) and the corn muffins were as dense and flavorless as rocks. To top it off, one person in our family even got mild food poisoning from their dinner. went to the cracker barrel in ocala around 6:30 last thursday. they hardly had anybody in there. the hostess could clearly see my 92 year old dad walking with a walker. she seated us as far away from the front as you can be. clearly to the other side of the restraunt. we orederd food and it took a little over a half an hour to get our food and when you have a 2 and 5 year old trying to keep calm was not fun. the waitress was nice but she never brought our bisquits or muffins. the food was okay. been going there for years. probably will not be going back. read more
