I finally visited here due to a friend lunch date. Some of my friends are early risers so when they want to meet up earlier than when I am hungry, it sucks. We were meeting mid afternoon on a Sunday so it was somewhat busy here. There was live entertainment when we were here. I did not catch the woman's name but it was great. The music was not too loud, her voice was great, and it was perfect for the mood. Our server was very attentive and friendly. My friend ordered the guacamole for the table but I was under the impression that it is made/ prepared table side for you. It was just mashed up avocado with the ingredients on the side, meant for us to throw in and mix. I had one chip and thought is was kind of bland. My friends all ordered entrees and I just ordered a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were good and I ate most of it. My friends enjoyed their food as well. So to start the ambiance was beautiful! I love the exposed ceilings and the bench's we sat at. The staff were super friendly from the minute we stepped in. They sat us quickly, checked up on us a few times. I ordered an espresso martini and I've never seen one made like this before and I've had many lol. The burger was excellent although I prefer that the cheese is melted on my patty. The restaurant is quite large and has a nice outdo seating area. The bar area is nice and roomy and they have space for catering events. The service was fast and my waiter was very polite. He didn't make me feel rushed and had some great suggestions when I asked him about a few of their menu items. The key lime pie was excellent with the exception of the chocolate syrup they put on the plate. It went well with the strawberry but not the pie. They should strongly consider a key lime sauce or a strawberry sauce. I'm not a chocolate hater at all. It's my favorite, but the two together were not good at all. I went for the first time this past Tuesday for their trivia night which was super fun! During trivia night I tried their cheese curds appetizer, French onion soup and pork tenderloin meal. I also had a cranberry juicy and then a mocktails with sprite, strawberry purée and cranberry juice. It was really good. The prizes are not cheap for the juice and mocktail both were $5.50. The cheese curds were $10. But they gave you a decent portion and they were fries well and tasted fresh. The pork tenderloin meant for $17.00, came with a decent sized portion that I split and a soup or salad. I ordered the French onion soup with it which was standard and good as well. The pork tenderloin was cooked well and had a delicious bourbon glaze sauce paired with tasty creamy mashed potatoes and green beans. We stopped at The Crazy Cucumber for a late lunch/early supper and my husband tried the monthly special which was a fish sandwich. I ordered mahi tacos for fear the sandwich would be nothing special. Oh, how wrong I was! The food came out and I blurted out "OMGosh! That looks amazing!" when I saw the fish sandwich. The deep fried fillet was huge, crispy on the outside, moist and flaky inside. It was nestled in shredded lettuce and tomato on an upgraded, very soft roll. After I raved about it, chef Luis came out to our table and explained how the fresh fish was hand cut in house and that the hoagie rolls (not your typical boring buns) were the kind used in to make the famous Philly. The sandwich was accompanied by house made tartar sauce, sizzling fries and freshly made coleslaw. We also learned that the fish and chips are made with the same yummy fish and fried in that crispy, delicate coating so there's another item I must try.. I enjoyed the mahi tacos which were delicious but I have to say I was jealous and wished I had ordered the special. Luckily for me my husband shared a bit of his as it was a huge fillet. Even our dog got a little bit. I let my husband know we were going back in a few days so I could get my own fish sandwich. The beer was cold, the live music just right and Alexia made sure we had everything in a timely manner. It is not often I take time for a review. A lot of the reviews I read before I went there had the food and service rated five stars... Not a chance! Food was way worse than that! I ordered a Margarita and pretzel sticks with a dipping sauce for my appetizer. The pretzel sticks were plain, no salt or other flavor on them. The dipping sauce? Tasted like melted Kraft cheese, not in any way a "sauce". And the Margarita?? Get this. It was served in a highball glass (an 8oz. straight sided tumbler) with table salt smeared on the rim. The cocktail itself was just Tequila and lime juce over ICE CUBES! Worst Margarita ever. I ordered the fish and chips for dinner. The fish was soggy, like mushy. Not at all flaky, and the beer batter coating was also soggy, not crispy. And the "chips"? Frozen string cut french fries that you can buy at Walmart...UGH! I was there on a Monday, which turned out to be Music Bingo night. WTF?? Imagine trying to have a nice quiet conversation with your date with everyone screaming BINGO for over an hour. Then the Karaoke started. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Finally, the service. Second rate. I didn't see the waitress again after she servend my meal until she brought the check. Service is good, but there were 2 instances when I had to go inside and ask for a server after being told to "sit wherever you want" and waiting at least 15 min at that table.
