    Art class for kids

The family art classes are such a great idea. Besides it being different type of art we've never done, the even better part is that it is free to families. Google Emerson Family Studio to see what dates are available. We didn't choose the medium of art we worked with, but it did not matter to me seeing as it was just a chance for us to do something new and interesting.

Craft Alliance is one of St. Louis' gems. It's literally a treasure trove of creative items that people will delight in and cherish. Most people know Craft Alliance as a store. Sure it is, but it's a store with heart. The shop specializes in items made by local and national artists, and these items are chosen and curated with great care. From ceramic vases to glass coasters made from pop culture memorabilia, from purses made from the Sunday funnies to cuff bracelets fashioned from retired license plates, from delicate scarves of hand-woven fabric to beautiful blown glass ornament orbs of fascinating colors and shapes, Craft Alliance has something for every taste and budget. Before I head east to my family in Ohio and Pennsylvania for the December holidays, I always hit up Craft Alliance for gifts. Family members especially can't get enough of the glass ornaments, and at $15-30 each, they're affordable, beautiful keepsakes. But after you buy stuff, don't forget that Craft Alliance also is an art gallery! Roam around the various nooks and you'll see art grouped as exhibitions. Currently, Craft Alliance features a tea pot exhibit in its main gallery - teapots from every medium, every shape, every size. But the fun still doesn't end there! Head further into the store (the building is way bigger than you think) and you can learn to create art yourself! Craft Alliance offers individual and group lessons in pottery, jewelry making and so much more. You also can host special events like birthday outings there. This review is for the Delmar location, but Craft Alliance also has a location on Grand in the SLU-Midtown neighborhood. They offer more galleries and classes there, and they coordinate a lot of events with local college classes. This is definitely one of the more unique places for gifts and adventures in St. Louis!

The inventory is changed fairly often to keep it interesting. A lot of the stuff is locally made which is nice.
