They have hundreds of artists create pieces live in front of you throughout the event and then they auction off the pieces to fund the studio. I was immediately intrigued and addicted. We have been every year since. Since that first event, St. Louis City Open Studios and Gallery has become one of my top "kid friendly" places in this city. They offer fun and educational art-centered classes for kids as well as open studio hours six days a week. Your "little" can learn how to throw some clay onto a wheel, string their own necklace, or illustrate their own book. My personal favorite is the kid and me class on Saturday afternoons. For one hundred bucks you get six weeks of uninterrupted quality family time with all of the art supplies as well as an art instructor provided. Who knows...you may have given birth to the next Picasso and never have known it with all that time they spend on the Wii. I am all for getting out and getting hands on and SCOSAG provides the perfect environment for good ole fashion fun. Love Live Creativity!

The announcer was lively, entertaining, and informative. He shared how this is the only circus school in St Louis and is also the only social circus school. They offer classes to kids of all ages, with their oldest student being of 93 years currently. The show was fantastic! The performers whom I saw tonight were in level 1.5. They've just finished their 15-week fall semester (Dec) and were showcasing their skills. It was great to see the teachers/mentors, helping the students, providing balance aid, and spotting. I look forward to returning to see if I recognize any performers in the future. Donations are welcome and go towards helping students.

The required courses in order for a member to use the equipment are overpriced and are more for legal and insurance reasons than for member learning. Poor cost/benefit and non competitive. They are not adequately staffed or trained to take care of the range of equipment. Management pays lip service to member input, but if the input is not positive they react as if attacked. The general manager told me that they would prefer to hire interesting and likable people over 30 year veterans. I am opposed to a view that benefits their image, like Abercrombie & Finch, over knowledge and experience of the instructors. The local management really can only implement corporate directed education and has no real policy making power of their own. I love the concept, and hope this review helps them to improve their execution.

Answered all questions when I called (and called back and back and back again!). They even called a couple of days before to confirm the reservation. Not only did they provide an affordable room, they treated one adult per room and children under 12 to the buffet breakfast and also gave us, free of charge, one meal (which we had as lunch) and snacks and drinks. To top it off, they allowed us to borrow a microwave and use their freezer! It truly was a saving grace and we wish they were in all states we visit for medical appointments as they made us feel cared for, like we had friends we could ask for help.
