And now a review of the space, because like the photos, this place is that cool and now, I have a better understanding of what it's all about, sort of. So the place has been open for about 5.5 months. A warm inviting storefront with the inside filled with local artist inspirations. Prices range from the Wow! That will look kick ass in my place (for the most frugal shopper) to Wow! That will look kick ass in my place! (for the person with some deep, pockets). Everything that's sold are one-of-a-kind pieces and are quite amazing. From paper mache' sculptures (definitely worth checking out) , New Zealand reclaimed wood tables, low temp fired ceramics, paintings with prices all over the spectrum and of course, photography and more. The cool thing though is that with the gallery owner, Nance, has space in the back which could be used for other events besides showings. Not big events, but smaller ones and obviously you would need to talk to her about what your trying to do but she came off as pretty cool and open to ideas. Nance has history of doing things in the city around the arts scene and if you've been to Macy's for their holiday display, you've seen her work. This part of West 7th (3-4 block area?) is really starting to pop and one could park in the middle and walk around, eat, drink, and shop their way to the different businesses and this place, is definitely worth a stop.

There were about 10 other people taking a "pain the greats" class - looked fun but a little too high-skilled for me... You can bring your own wine and have a night to relax, be creating, and paint a cute canvas, bowl, etc.. I've heard of painting pottery places that turn out more professional - my canvas isn't anything I'll be putting on display. but what a fun way to spend a friday night with a few friends! A full membership allows unlimited use of wheels and firing. They have a huge assortment of glazes and tools. It's open 24/7 and feels very safe. The scheduling was a bit confusing but after we input the amount (it was set up as choose how much $ you'd like to support the studio with), we showed up and were delighted to find a clean workspace for both of us and a pound of clay. Tools were provided and there was a class that was getting taught how to make pinch bowls. At the end the instructor took care of collecting the piece and firing it and we input the info in a QR code to pick it up later after it was fired. Everything was provided and we had a great date night at an affordable price. Pieces take a couple weeks to pick up. We will be back again!
