Had a great experience years ago with Craftsman Collision on Powell sreet, so when our insurance company sent me to the one in Port Kells, I thought it would be the same. Not!! One of the worst experiences I have had at any business.
When I first took the car in they told me they would need two weeks to fix it. It seemed like a long time for $4,000 in damages....but left the car with them. Did not hear from them for the next 13 days so I called and asked if the car would be ready the next day. I was told that they were waiting for 2 small parts that were to be delivered that afternoon, so I would get my car later that day or the next day at the latest. About 3pm the next day I called them again (nobody had called me by then) and was told that a part had to be back ordered and my car would not be ready for another two weeks or longer . I asked exactly when the car would be ready and they said they did not know.
I then decided that talking on the phone seemed to be going nowhere, so I went down to the repair shop and had them phone the BMW dealership while I was there and get an actual date.
We were given a date that was 12 days out. I did not get one phone call from Craftsman over the next eleven days, so on the twelfth day (when the dealership said the part would be in) I phoned them and the office person said she would get the adjuster to give me a call to discuss. About 15 minutes later I got a text message saying the part was not in.......nothing else. I had about had it with Craftsman Collision by this time so I phoned the dealership and asked to speak to the parts department. I explained who I was and asked if they could update me on when the part would be in. They told me the part was already on the way to Craftsman!!! After over one month of waiting and with not one phone call or update from them, they did not even take a minute to call the dealership to update me! I was astounded and so called Craftsman back to see when my car would be ready. They then told me the wrong part was delivered so they would have to wait for a new part to be delivered......but about 10 minutes later they called back and said it was actually the right part and my car would be ready the next day. Finally the next day I go in when they said I could pick up the car. It was still being washed when I got there and some small touchups on the back bumper were being done.To rub salt into the wound they never cleaned the windshield and there was a lot of "gunk" on it. The wipers couldn't clear the rain away the next day, so I had to go back to get them to polish the windshield. I have not written many complaints on review sites......but the lack of customer care and communication by this repair shop was just so bad I felt I had to. read more
