I am writing this review regarding my experience with Desert Orthopedic Center and Eisenhower…read moreHealth. On 10/09/2025, I underwent a bursectomy performed through Desert Orthopedic Center at Eisenhower Medical Center. I was discharged after surgery without a splint on my elbow. Within a few weeks, at a follow-up appointment, the physician observed that the surgical wound had reopened. I have photographic documentation of the open wound. I was then informed that I would require a second surgery to close it properly. On 11/10/2025, I underwent a second procedure to repair the wound. This time, I was sent home with a splint. I then endured another full month of recovery, additional medical appointments, additional time off, and additional physical and emotional stress. Despite the fact that this second surgery was necessitated by the failure of the original surgical outcome, I was billed for the second procedure. It is unreasonable and unacceptable to charge a patient a second time for corrective surgery when the initial procedure did not heal properly. In addition to the financial burden, I experienced prolonged pain, inconvenience, extended recovery, and disruption to my life. I am formally requesting a full billing review and appropriate financial resolution for the second surgery and related follow-up care. Patients should not bear the financial consequences of complications that stem from their medical care. I urge both Desert Orthopedic Center and Eisenhower Health to review their post-operative discharge protocols and billing practices to ensure accountability and prevent similar experiences for other patients.

Upon release and being rolled out in a wheel chair with all my instructions in hand, I noticed a handwritten card with the names of everyone who took care of me. Shout outs to Sonia PCT, Laurie pre op nurse, Michelle procedure nurse, Amanda CRNA, Roy PCT, Shameka recovery nurse, and Dr Annunziata. If by chance they ever read this, thank you for making this a pleasant experience by actually connecting and not rushing us through as though I was #35 for the day. Your investment today in your patient insures many more repeats and referrals. Preventive medicine saves lives. Early detection is what makes the difference. Since I was under, I had both the colonoscopy and an upper GI endoscopy. There's nothing to be afraid of and it's over in an instant and you feel great afterwards. -- For the Anxious Girlies…read more I'm scheduled for my procedure tomorrow, but I felt compelled to share my experience with the initial process because it has been nothing short of exceptional thanks to MaKael, the surgical coordinator, and Aja, the pre-op assistant. I've wanted this surgery all my life, ignoring the upper half of my body in all aspects, but I'm scared of change. Even if I'm not content with something, the unknown is very scary for me. From the very beginning, MaKael has been my rock. She is incredibly informative and never once made me feel rushed or judged. I tend to overthink and stress myself out with endless Google searches, but she calmed me a million times over. She was quick to respond (even calling me on her day off when I was anxious) and always gave me clear, honest answers without fluff. She has a way of articulating exactly what I was thinking and truly held my hand through the process, both figuratively and literally. I came in 3-4 times for sizing because I just couldn't make a decision, and she never once lost patience. She took all the time I needed and made me feel completely at ease. Honestly, she is the reason this process has been so easy and reassuring. Aja, the pre-op assistant, has also been wonderful. She called me multiple times before surgery to go over the process, and when we met in person, she was just as lovely, warm, and reassuring. The instructions she gave me to prepare for surgery were so simple, clear, and easy to follow that I felt confident and ready instead of overwhelmed. I also appreciate that I was able to meet with the doctor multiple times before surgery. He was consistently honest, confident, and realistic with my expectations. What I love most is that I still get to sit down with him one final time before surgery to discuss sizing and details again. Nothing has ever felt rushed. I'm admittedly the classic indecisive patient, not about having surgery itself, but about what would best fit my frame, and they have gone above and beyond to make sure I feel comfortable with every decision. On top of that, I normally go to a med spa in Orange County for my Botox and fillers, and when I mentioned I was considering this surgeon, they immediately knew of him and reassured me that I was making a great choice. That outside validation gave me even more confidence moving forward. If you are even considering a procedure, even if you aren't sure, I can't recommend this team enough. Having people like MaKael supporting you makes all the difference. She has turned what could have been a stressful, intimidating journey into one where I feel cared for, understood, and completely confident. I will update this review with my recovery and results in a few weeks, and again in a few months once everything has settled. But for now, I can honestly say I couldn't be happier with the process leading up to tomorrow. I'm so grateful to this team for making such a big decision feel safe and supported. I didn't want to write this review, but I've been given unfortunate circumstances…read more I originally got something done here which was excellent. My next visit not so much. I can hear for a little filler for my birthday, I just wanted to look a little lifted. I received an appointment with a nurse who was clearly very busy, no shade. I had originally intended to spend $600 on myself, it was specifically set aside as I keep a very tight budgeting for my expenses. (much like anyone else, I have responsibilities). During my appointment my nurse evaluated what I wanted and then proceeded to inject, blowing past my inquiry in regard to what I would be charged. I was charged $1200, and unfortunately I had spoken to someone over the phone later who emphasized with my problem, offered me a skincare treatment, and then never got back to me. I'm disappointed that this office that I very much enjoyed and appreciated didn't handle this in a more honest, and professional manner.
