My boyfriend could see I was not doing well. I was crying from the pain. The nurse Kendell who was taking me to car saw that and said no. We cannot let you go home like this. She wheeled me back and ran another IV of different medication. We waited 30 min and I was calmer and I could manage the pain. Btw, I am 66 years old in good health and don't take any medication on a regular basis. I honestly feel that Nurse Kendall was the only person on the floor that cared and was listening. Disregard for patients & failure to listen: leads to mistakes with potentially serious consequences…read more Almost allowed resident to assume and treat wrong disease (when serious medical condition subsequently verified). Prescribed drug with onerous side effects - and wasn't working, instead of switching upped dose 50% making patient very ill. Did not listen to patient or managing specialist on the case. Refused both phone calls and appointments. Switched to another infectious disease doc who said: "why are you still on this drug; it clearly isn't working?" as tests confirmed. She changed medication to one that is working and keeping condition under control. Combination of medical arrogance and apparent disregard for patients and their input (characteristic of too many Eisenhower senior specialists) leads to mistakes and potentially serious medical consequences.
