Born was very personable and professional, explaining every step he would take and why it was important. He injected poison into the walls of the house where the colony had set up residence, sprayed in the crawl space, and did a perimeter spray. Boy, was that effective! Yesterday we killed over 100 carpenter ants who fled into the house to escape the poison, and thankfully the numbers have tapered off quite a bit today. Many of you have heard the saga and tales of the Squirrel Problem at My House. I hate those little…read morefurry rats. I don't know who it is on my street who puts out the peanuts for them that I constantly find buried where my tulip bulbs once were, but I am *this* close to issuing a memo to everyone on the street to STOP freakin' feeding those glorified rodents! My bad for calling a bird control company for a squirrel problem. I always try to use companies from the 'hood, and they had a sign up on their building on Crown Hill that said they now 'do squirrels!' The two guys who came over daily for like 6 days to help me in my battle were both very nice and easy to communicate with, but they did admit that the squirrel part of their biz was a recent development. When I saw them climbing into the attic with a fishing net and a small Kennel Cab (like for a dog), I knew we were in for an "adventure." They patched the squirrels entry to the attic with an effective yet extremely eye catchingly ugly combination of steel mesh and bright orange foam about the size and shape of a brain. You can't miss it and it's on the front of the house. Sayonara, curb appeal. Bottom line: I do not hear the attic squirrel-palooza every morning from 5am - 11am anymore. I do know, however, that there are a minimum of 2 squirrel carcasses rotting in the attic on glue strips that the guys left up there. And I am okay with that, I guess, because as far as I am concerned, the only good squirrel is one that either stays in the yard where it belongs (as opposed to storming my castle) or one that is dead. I bet these guys are awesome with birds, though.

Woodpeckers would punch through vents and make holes, and then the more aggressive starlings would kick them out and nest. We finally were able to remove the nests but needed to prevent woodpeckers or starlings from returning again. We got a number of bids, and while National Bird Company was not the cheapest initially, they had the best proposal (most thorough plus cleaning) as well as matched their competitor's price. Two weeks later, their are no signs of birds, and they now seem to be roosting on our neighbor's house. Overall, I was very happy with the price and job that NBC did, but I hope I won't have to call them again.

This is the second time I had Johann assist me with ant control. Last time it was over a year and a…read morehalf ago when I had massive ongoing sugar ant infestation for about a year. I had another big name pest control company do work on that where it would work then a few months later another sworn of them returning. I finally decided to see if Johann could do better as I received good recommendations from a friend. Johann is extremely knowledgeable and modest. He informed me he runs a one person business so he may not always have the time to return calls on the same day. But from my experience he is always able to return my calls the next day and schedule a visit within the week. He arrives on time or sometimes about 10 mins early. Does a thorough assessment of the property and locate where the ants are predominately at and places baits and then spray the parameter while being mindful of my dog and letting me know that what is being sprayed and used to attract the ants will not be harmful if consumed accidentally by her. Last time after his visits the ants were gone and never returned. Again that was about 1 1-2 yr ago. Last week I noticed one sugar ant inside the house and decided it was time for a maintenance visit as a prevention. So Johann stopped by today and again was very thorough and helpful. Highly recommended! His price for initial and follow up visits are very reasonable and best of all you see results and get a peace of mind!
