The staff are very nice, but the residents are required to stay in wheelchairs and wear diapers because they are understaffed. Lots of stress visiting my mom here because people were either heavily medicated or moaning in the hallways. Update: On a few occasions, my father said that he had his "buzzer" taken away, so he couldn't call for help if he needed it. He requested kosher food, and was provided with a very limited diet that essentially consisted of stuffed shells and sandwiches - a very poor diet, especially considering he was supposed to be building back up his strength and endurance after pneumonia. Communication (the lack thereof) continued to be a major problem. After yelling and screaming several times, we finally got little bits and pieces of information from the facility. While at Cranbury Center, he contracted Covid (and was sent into "isolation" as a result), and then suffered another bout of pneumonia. The facility at least called us to tell us about these occurrences. Finally, he had shortness of breath and a low oxygen level, which resulted in the staff releasing him back to the hospital. Thank goodness he was finally able to "escape!" To add insult to injury, the facility then sent my parents a bill of close to $3000, since they'd kept him for more than 21 days and his Medicare only covered the first 21 days. The facility's lack of professionalism and transparency have been absolutely appalling, and my father on more than one occasion told me he felt like he was not going to survive his stay there. We have told the hospital that, if he needs to be released back into rehab, under absolutely no circumstances was he to be released to Cranbury Center. read more

I came to visit my loved one and found them isolated and in a crisis. The D.O.N. refused to call for immediate help, instead she told me to wait until their doctor come in 2 days. I called the ambulance, where they were transported and admitted into ICU. Had I not visited my family member that day, they would not be alive today due to the facility's negligence. How could staff not realize when a resident is in shock and declining health?! I wrote a formal complaint to Genesis and no one ever got back to me. My loved one would complain about not being showered for weeks and I'd bring it up to the staff, who would lie. All the staff are temps and the turnover rate is very high, so no one is familiar with the patients. I would never recommend anyone trust this center's care. read more

Although it has been some time since I had a family member at Cranbury Center, I wanted to weigh in on my experience. My father was admitted after several small strokes and I will never forget how great the staff was with him. They treated him with the utmost respect and even as he faded away, they were a great source of comfort to my family knowing that he was being cared for with dignity. They even matched him with a fellow WW2 vet as a roommate. The stories!!! It was hard for Dad to be there, but a small touch like that was something to put a smile on his face and so appreciated!! Grading a facility like this seems strange considering the situations that bring you there. But looking back, I am glad that we chose Cranbury Center to help make my Dad's last days comfortable and loving. read more

My parent has been here a lil over a week and EVERYDAY I visit Im very disappointed. I can say that most of the staff is very welcoming, but there are a few who have been caught just being straight up FAKE. They are here to do what is just needed to be done for a patient. I caught a few (I guess nursing aides/orderlies complaining in the lounge about certain patients whom I dont know. That is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! The living facility is not wonderful. Though when upon arrival its welcoming to guests. I dont feel the patients themselves are treated with respect as a sickly or mentally challenged person as they may be. The bathroom where my parent stays is smelly like a run down gastation bathroom that no one every cleans. Of course the patients cant complain because they are treated here for a few weeks or maybe even months. So I SPEAK FOR ALL THOSE PATIENTS in Cranbury Center facilities! HOUSEKEEPING NEEDS TO UP THERE GAME in keeping the facilities clean & sanatized! I feel bad for the staff bc just by watching them it is a strenuous job and I GIVE THEM ALL MY RESPECT, but this facility is very understaffed. Elderly and sickly patients shud be monitored properly and professionally and especially caringly. Very discouraged of keeping my parent here any longer. read more

My brother in law Vito has been at Cranbury Center for over a year and a half . He was in a facility prior to Cranbury Center that was not up to par at all . Since he has come to Cranbury Center his demeanor is better , he loves the people that take care of him . Every time I visit he is clean , happy , all you could ask for in a facility . I love Cranbury Center and it's people . They are all so nice to me whenever I show up . Thanks so much , you make my life easier for my brother in law and that is all that matters . read more

My father is currently here for rehab while he is fighting cancer. My mother was here for rehab 20 years ago, and let me tell you--it is exactly the same, down to the wallpaper. The ceilings are warped, and I am concerned about the cleanliness. My dad's heat was on SUPER high, when he is prone to dehydration (the nurses have copies of his medical history). His bed doesn't sit up, so he can't eat. They have him in a diaper that was full and they hadn't changed until we complained. And the bed is too short so his foot is pressed against the bottom board, which causes sores. I get the impression that nurses check on him every few hours, which is NOT enough for someone in his condition. It could be that they are understaffed, but that is unacceptable. Some workers seem to care, which is the only reason I'm not giving this place one star. Thank you to those few of you. I appreciate the work they do given the obvious mismanagement of the place. Overall, avoid this place if you can. If you have no other option, make sure you visit your loved ones often to keep an eye on them because the nurses sure won't. read more

I found the staff at Cranbury to be helpful and concerned for my family from our first tour. The Admissions team took all the time we needed to help us understand our benefits and help us make choices that prevented a financial burden. The rehab team were not only highly skilled but a group of consistent friendly faces every day. Mom got food served to her room right from a steam table or in the restaurant like dining room. She was able to order from a café like menu. Her room was kept clean and fresh. Most important the nursing staff helped prevent mom from having to go back into the Hospital when we were nervous she would. But with the care there she has been back home and better then ever. My mother in law broke her hip and unfortunately had to go here for rehab for three weeks. The staff with very few exceptions were rude and lacked basic communication skills. The food was horrible. My MIL was left in her bsit for hours with the obvious consequences. The social worker we had to deal with was inept and uncaring. I hope we never have to experience this again but for sure I will never, ever set foot in this facility again! read more

went to cranbury center for physical rehab. overall satisfied with my experience. except for:rehab technicians were very indifferent and appeared uncaring.. except for a tech named ron. aso, the equipment was not wiped down after patient use. (ref: any part of the equipment that comes in contact with a patents exposed skin.). the aids and nurses were the best. the food, although not plentiful was well prepared. the dining room was well managed. read more
