They have many great events for their residents and the staff is very caring. The food that the patients eat daily is delicious. Compared to other nursing homes, the food is on another level. The nursing home is very clean. The staff are great and the nursing home is very well run.

(let me point out, we are now vaccinated-entire family and she is vaccinated). I am worried about her mental health and also about how many more mothers days does she has left. My point is. What was the point of her getting vaccinated and us getting vaccinated if we still can't see her. What a waste. If you have someone in here. Don't bother with the vaccine. It does not matter. you still can't see them. Through a glass or a window. Maybe one person going in not all the time. This sounds to me like abuse. Not of the physical kind but of the mental kind for her and us. We really thought that getting vaccinated was going to make a difference and guess what NOTHING. When do we get to hug her? Next year. Hopefully she will be here. And again, we have all being vaccinated for 3 months already. Waiting and waiting. This is mental abuse. I don't care what the state says still abusive to those elders and their families that have follow the process and gotten vaccines. DISGRACEFUL. Shame on you NJ.

I live at a distance, and I cannot express how grateful I am to the staff. Their response to her illness was swift and appropriate. But I am mostly writing this because I am so impressed and so touched by the staff's subsequent response. My cousin has had multiple visits at the hospital and phone calls from staff. When we needed a 24/7 aide at the hospital, one stepped up and she has been wonderful. I want to specifically cite Deirdre (the most attentive and kind social worker ever!), Kerry (the very caring aide helping us), and Tina (my cousin's favorite Activities Director at The Elms) who was kind enough to arrange a visit for my cousin from her rabbi. Many thanks to you all.

I received rehab for 1/2 hour a day (Only if I asked} At no time did anyone come to my room to schedule a time to go to PT. If I strolled into the PT room I would quickly shown a bike to sit on. How is that possible, no appointment??? I always had to ask for my sheets to be changed, never did they make it part of their daily routine. Often, I just gave up asking. Lastly, the reason I felt compelled to write this review was for the following incident that must be exposed. I received breakfast as usual around 8:00 AM on Sunday April 11th. When I received my meal it was not eatable and was cold. Things that are cooked should be at least warm. When I as for it to be warmed up the attendant REFUSED TO GET IT WARMED UP BECAUSE SHE DID NOT WANT TO WALK BACK TO THE KITCHEN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. The administration ASKED the attendant to apologize but refused. Anywhere else on planet earth immediate expulsion would have been called for. Instead, the attendant thumbed her nose at the administration and merely a useless grievance was filled out. {We all know where that will end up) In conclusion, if you want evidence that the system is broken here it is. I will be following this up legally and on social media. one star

My problem was with some of the night staff that acted like they were doing me a favor. One night since my diaper was not soiled they didn't change it for the night. Another time I had diarrhea. There was an attitude and I pointed out that it was something I ate there. Another time someone came in with an attitude and instead of placing the hospital gown on me to be put on it was THROWN ON ME. Another time around 8:45 I requested change for the night and the person who came in was on the phone with a personal call and taking care of me was secondary. Some of the food was warm or cold at best. Something was called a cheese omelet but was horrible and cold so I couldn't even eat it. As for the office I got help a few times to appeal for a longer stay I felt I needed and they were very helpful. And they helped me with my discharge.

As with most of these facilities an involved family is able to shake some trees and ensure better care. However, it's heartbreaking to see long-term residents with few family members or friends who languish while the clock runs out. The food is decent and the staff (what there is of them) are kind and caring but make no mistake CareOne was conceived in the late 1990's as a hedge-funders erotic dream to drive profit and efficiency. They have been successful... as CareOne is the number one brand of senior living facilities in NJ. Two stars.
