I'm writing on behalf of my mother, Michelle A. She works out with Judy in the mornings, and it definitely brightens the rest of her day. It's almost essential that my mom works out with Judy, because it's a great way for her to destress. She is way more positive now, and she's gotten so much stronger. My mother is in better shape than me, and I'm in my 20s. It's a great place if you're looking for a group of kind, motivated, and strong people to workout with that will not only inspire you, but also become some of your closest friends. Judy has many classes to attend, at different times of the day so people with varying schedules can go when they please. What I love about this place, a lot! I first tried out this gym on Living Social, which was a year ago. I was hooked and signed up for 3x a week for $79. Yes, I like spin classes and these bikes are awesome because they move. But, there is so much more at this gym. Awesome boxing classes, Weight Training classes, and on sat Brazilian Booty Lift and Cardio. If you're a cardio freak, the spin/boxing class is intense. If you're looking for a gym where you feel like your part of a family, this is it. The owner Judy, along with the other instructors, will remember your name. Overall, motivating instructors and I love that routines change and new classes have been added since I started. Ok, if i had to be picky, I'd wish for more classes on Friday and Sunday. read more

If you're looking for a great work out with a group of people that are friendly and supportive, this is your spot! Judi and her amazing team of instructors provide a great team environment. I'm fairly new to cycling but am loving it. Their Real Ryder bikes are so awesome, you feel like you're actually riding a bike. But this studio is much more than just cycling, they have rowers, punching bags, cardio, oh and Tae bo! I have yet to try class with Melanie, but if her other classes are an indicator, it'll be great! I recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great work out! Classes available all hours so you can make it no matter your schedule! New favorite place for me! I've had a really positive experience here. Everyone is so nice and non judgmental. I feel encouraged by the instructors during class but not embarrassed when I can't keep up. The owner Judy is so sweet and she took the time to show me how to set up the bike and how to use the tow machine. I also enjoy the variety of classes offered. Great gym run by a local cyclist. Mostly focused on classes with a very full schedule of spinning, rowing, and mat workouts, some kickboxing. They've got convenient class times for all schedules from early morning to evening and weekends. The instructor team is great for all levels and mixes up the workouts so they're never routine. The gym uses Real Ryder spinning bikes which have a heavier flywheel and have a side to side motion. This resembles more of a real road ride and the side motion does more for core when spinning. Classes are not too large so the instructors can pay attention to individuals, great for beginners. Easy parking and several plan options. I started to get my aerobic capacity up and moved from the beginner riding group in my club to them advanced in about four months of twice-weekly workouts. Also got my cholesterol down another 20%. Started the kickboxing a few times also. A friendly group I'm always greeted by name when I arrive. read more

This is the only workout place I have ever joined. Before visiting the one hour real Ryder class with a friend, I thought it would be my first and last time. The instructor Judi was so warm and motivating in her class, that I had to try again. After 4 months, I am still there, becoming stronger and loving the class and the other riders as well. Crank it up is such a positive place and a neighborhood gem. I never expected that I would look forward to working out, but I actually miss this place when I'm not there. Nothing but positive things to say about this studio. Judi, the owner, is the sweetest! If you're looking for a *family feel* gym, this is the place! I love the variety of classes offered and that there's something for everyone! What's unique about this studio is the hybrid classes, where you can spend half the class on the Real Ryder bike and the other half on the bags, or doing strength/TRX or rowing exercises. All instructors are so skilled and motivating and really challenge and push you to be your best! I also love that one day I can take a spin class, the next I'm killing it on the bags, and the next I'm stretching and strengthening in Pilates. My favorite place to be at 5:30 AM.... always easy to motivate once I'm there and the teachers feel like family at this point. I had been working out at Fitness 19 for about a year and was beginning to notice that I was finding excuses to not go to the gym. I was getting bored. I took the 8:00 am Extreme Real Ryder class with Judi. You have to make sure to reserve a spot because it fills up fast, now I know why! Judi is the ultimate motivator, and probably has the best personality in the business for cycle/spin. She makes you laugh while in the same moment you don't realize how hard you are pushing yourself. The one hour class goes by so fast, never once did I counted the minutes left because there is no repetitive boring guidance. This is a planned out ride with the hills up on a screen to view, and even the name's of the streets (I knew many of them). Plus for once I knew where I needed to be as far as my level/speed. Other cycle classes they yell out half turn right, or 60% capacity. The Real Ryder has a speedometer so you know where you need to be to get the results, and the bikes move side to side just like you are riding down the road up. Never a dull moment as well as a fantastic work-out. Highly recommended this gym! I stayed to watched the kickboxing class that following the Extreme Real Ryder. I have never seen anything like that!!!! read more

I've tried many different spin studios around LA & OC, but nothing compares to the level of expertise & enthusiasm of the instructors & the workouts on the Real Ryder bikes. I'm totally hooked! I was hesitant to hop back on a bike after taking time off during my pregnancy, but I finally decided I was ready for more cardio. As an avid yoga student & teacher, I was worried that the spin & strength training workout would be too taxing on my body. I was wrong. Crank it up is my new go to gym! The RealRyder bikes are like no other bikes out there. This bike moves like a real road bike so you are incorporating so many more muscle groups than on a normal stationary bike, thus burning more calories! The rowers are state of the art and the TRX kicks your butt! The classes are different every time so you don't get tired of doing to same old thing. Judi is an amazing personal trainer and instructor and her staff are top notch. Pricing is more than reasonable and there are specials running every month. I have been at Crank It Up since it opened and love my workouts! I'm there 4-5 times per week and find that Judi and all her team of instructors provide challenging and flexible workout opportunities. The real Ryder bikes are an experience like no other and so good for core strength. TRX and rowers are the bonus.
