The card was for Saturday night. Perfect! We scratched and it said see a race at the Seekonk Speedway. We are from the west coast and my husband is a car guy so this sounded like an awesome idea. This is a far cry from what we were expecting, but we had such a fun time. The speedway was packed! We had to park way out in the back lot in the grass. Tickets were for a special event trailer bashing or something. We walked around the whole area, grabbed snacks and found some seats by the family of one of the race car drivers. We got to learn all the rules of each different race and be included in the energy. It was so much more fun than I could have bargained for.

The complex was nice enough with plenty of bathrooms and parking but the track where the half marathon ended definitely needs some work. The track is your standard 1/2 mile loop but it need some serious rehabilitation - as chunks of the track surface were either missing, cracked or covered up with some weird rubber material, all of which made the track very uneven. It is fine if you are planning on using it for jogging or walking, but if you are thinking about doing some serious speed and/or tempo work I would suggest finding another location for your workout.

My oldest son who is 6ft tall said that he was comfortable as well. As large as it is, it seems that it is just cozy enough with any seat in the facility offering a nice view of the floor and stage area. The only negative feedback I'd like to share is the acoustics were awful. It was very difficult to understand each of the speakers. Everyone around me felt the same way when I asked. It would have been helpful to have close captions available. Parking was easy, but leaving afterwards was a nightmare. We were left stuck in our spot for awhile until a good Samaritan finally let us out. Following the long line of cars out took forever. It would have been nice if there were parking attendants directing traffic to alleviate the congestion.
