The wind damage we told them about on day one is not fixed. The truck actually has new scrapes and dents on it. It appears the tins were taken off and allowed to scrape the floor. I also have a new door ding in the truck. I now get to wait and they will talk to the manager and get back to me. I left the truck there. BTW, the total repair is like 18000. I'd certainly look into a different repair shop. I used it as Geico had the adjuster look at it there. I was also told that the guy that knew about the truck doesn't work at Gerber anymore. I have no idea what they have been doing. The work is taking way longer than it should and it isn't being done right. We are now 5 days later without any communication from Gerber to me about the situation with my vehicle. I'll be calling them shortly. So, it appears that wind damage could not be added to the claim except by me. I was under the impression that the repair shop could alter the claim as well. No one informed me that the wind damage claim was denied as it was not on the initial claim. I called GEICO and asked for the notes to be updated and the claim reviewed. I'll update this review and leave the new comments when the repairs are done. The truck was picked up 8-31-23. They contacted me at 4 pm and they closed at 5 pm. We had to rush to get it before they closed. The truck was backed off in. The backup camera no longer works and some of the plastic pieces that hold the truck line in are missing. I'll update after I get it all fixed at the dealership. I'm sure this will cost 700 to 1200 more dollars and be at the dealership for about a week. I messaged on Facebook, the text service and the website customer care area. I never heard anything back. I would not use this place. The truck was in for over three months and whoever backed it in knew the camera was not working. The GM Ricky has reached out and I'll update as it plays out.

Now, being men, we had to keep it together to calm the women and children and act like everything was alright ("no, I'm sure it's fine, it's probably a standard light that comes on at exactly 174,396 miles, the dealerships do it on purpose"). Mortally afraid and running on pure adrenaline, I did the unthinkable. I simply opened my yelp app and found A1 repair by filtering hours open and proximity to our location. Even now as I recall the event, I am shocked at how rational I was behaving under such extenuating circumstances. But I digress. The time was was 7:55 pm on a Friday night. We were 13 minutes away. Yelp indicated A1 closed at 8 PM. We weren't gonna make it. We were going to be stranded on a desert highway with nothing but sasquatch and axe murdered to keep us company at night. While us men were busy occupying ourselves with how we were going to fight off mythical creatures at night, suddenly, our female in the car did the impossible: she called Jasen, the friendly service technician, to see if he wouldn't mind staying open for another ten minutes, due to our obviously dire needs. Generously and professionally, he agreed and promptly help us to diagnose our check engine light, which turned out to be only a minor thing and nothing that couldn't wait til the next service appointment at the dealership. It was Saturday evening when we pulled into the gas station where this auto repair shop is located. Alex is the mechanic we met, and he was super nice. Told us how much it would cost to check the tire, then patch it if needed. So he checked, found a nail, did a patch, and we were done within 20 minutes or so.
