I had such high hopes for this store for many reasons, but mainly the price. I have been waiting to post this review until the process was entirely over so that I could recount the entire event. I'll start at the very beginning when I decided that I was going to purchase a couch and went into the store to look at their selection. I stopped in on Memorial weekend since I knew that if I was going to make such a large purchase, I would rather do it on a weekend when there was a sale. I walked around the store for about an hour, testing the couches, taking pictures, and trying to find the one for me. During this time, not one employee asked me if I needed help, while I could clearly see them all staring at me. I don't want to assume why they did not help me, but it did feel like it was due to my age and appearance since they were quick to help the older couples that fit the store's demographic more accurately. I finally got an employee to help me, and she was very kind. I decided on the Wellington Sectional in the color Pearl. This was a special order since I got a custom color. I came back the next day with my mom to get her opinion and make sure I did not forget to ask any important questions before I made the purchase. Part of the Memorial sale required me to open a credit card, and this is where the trouble truly begins. Half of the couch was to be put on the credit card at the time of purchase, and then the other half at delivery. It was very frustrating opening the card since none of the employees truly seemed to know how their credit card system actually worked. They could not tell me if interest started accruing before or after delivery or any of the other questions that I asked. They told me that the couch was estimated to be delivered in November. I later get an email several months later saying that it was being delayed until the beginning of October, which as you can imagine was confusing. I decided to call and get an answer. Trying to get ahold of customer service has been nothing short of exhausting and unhelpful. They could not tell me why that email was sent and truly had no idea when to expect the couch. This became a real issue for me, since I had made arrangements for my current couch to be given to a friend based on their delivery estimate. Finally weeks later, I get an email saying that now it will be delivered in December. So, I have given my couch away, and will not have one until December. Once again, customer service and the furniture team had no idea what was happening and could not provide me any assistance and when they said they resolved the issue, it was never solved. This becomes a theme. Finally, I do receive the notification I can get my couch. I try to schedule delivery and I am told there is a hold on my account. This can't be since I pay my card every month and have never missed a payment. I call once again. They tell me that my credit card is expired. Now, how can a credit card opened in May expire in less than 6 months. So, once again, I have to figure the issue out myself for customer service. They tell me it is resolved and I can schedule delivery. A week goes by, there is still a hold. I call back and repeat this process. Turns out, the last woman didn't release the hold at all. Finally, the woman named Emily fixes my account after 3 tries and we schedule delivery. Besides the actual couch issues and customer service issues. There were also issues with me receiving my rewards that I was promised from the memorial weekend sale. Not only did they not upload to my account, once I called to have them added, they expired before I even received my couch. They send them to you in separate increments so that you cannot use them to purchase one large item. This sounds petty but after all of the hurdles, I was extremely irritated by this. I finally picked something out on the last day so that they did not go to waste and tried to have it shipped to my home, and shipping was $35, absolutely ridiculous. That was a site wide shipping price for small items. Then, my second round of points were not added, once again. Although, the couch I received is good quality and I am glad that I have it, I would NEVER purchase from this company again. It was not worth the several months of headache and acting as my own customer service agent. They knew they did wrong since they refunded shipping fees, but when you are paying over $3000 for a couch, you expect exceptional customer service and treatment. A couple weeks ago Crate & Barrel had a sale, a buy more get more of a percent off event. We had to take advantage of this as there are RARELY coupons at C&B. This one was HUGE as it provided the opportunity to get up to 20% off! Furniture, which is usually excluded from discounts, was included. This was the kick we needed to go into the store and purchase a fancy new sideboard we had been eyeing. (Oh, and a new espresso machine & more bar accoutrements). The staff in store that helped us was wonderful. They even allowed us to have the espresso machine shipped to my work so that it wasn't delivered to an empty house. There was no shipping cost for the machine either! You've got to love that. Based on the weight and overall size of the piece we decided to go for flat rate delivery to our house. The fee even included folks bringing the item into the house. While the item we wanted was not in stock in the Grove City warehouse, it was in stock at the Chicago one. The turn around to get the piece of furniture wound up being just a few days. (It may have helped that the piece we wanted was not backordered.) A few days before the scheduled delivery I received phone call with a couple hour window of when the delivery would be. Even closer to the delivery date there was a follow up phone call with a more specific time. The delivery folks were great and the whole process was painless! I would highly recommend ordering furniture from C&B. read more

I've decided to open a restaurant in Columbus, OH. So, few days ago, I went to Crate and Barrel store in Easton mall to shop dinnerware and flatware. I was greeted by an associate named Yoon, she came around and asked what I was looking for, i told her i wasn't looking for anything in particular, but something unique. She brought several "unique" and "modern" looking dinnerware and flatware. Honestly, i think she can read minds. I had it narrowed down to either 18th street and Visto collections. Yoon asked me about interior colors and overall atmosphere of the future restaurant. And I finally picked "18th street." Clearly she knows what she's talking about, and suggested ideas to decorate the table wIth napkins and table cloth. Yoon helped me a lot!! I couldn't do it without her! read more

I love Crate & Barrel as a store, but this location is so difficult to work with. Everyone is nice, but so slow. I've done a few pick up orders now and they take forever to confirm that it's ready. When you get to the store, expect to wait at least 20 minutes for them to bring it out. One time I had to go inside and ask for it and they took forever to find my order. There's no point in doing a pick up order if I could just go inside and shop and it would be much quicker. Disappointed. read more

Very overpriced. I know anything is probably cheaper online. I just happened to be nearby when I had an idea for a glass square cube to hold our remote controls on the coffee table. I also asked about a glass, lucite or acrylic flat cover for a nice wood end table. They went through a long search online and came up short. Well, I filled that need online. I hate that I had to give them an address and email to make a purchase. Today I received a comic book size advertisement in my mailbox today. It was not the first. They wrap your fragile item in a large amount of paper. Now they mail me more paper. Seems excessive for recycling and garbage. read more

My friend and I stopped here and got lost in discovering things. So many ideas for the kitchen, decorating, and finding hidden treasure that just call out to be chosen and taken home. The staff was attentive, friendly, and really knowledgeable about everything. No one rushed us, up to and including when they closed and started cleaning up. We panicked when we realized they were closed and the entire staff told us to just take our time. We finally left 1/2 hour after closing. read more

I wasn't planning to shop in-store until later in the summer, when everything from COVID was more settled. However, I couldn't pass up the Memorial Day sale on a set of dishes I had been eyeing. I called ahead and the woman I spoke to gave quick and simple directions, and another woman (or maybe the same) greeted me at the door to explain the traffic patterns. I didn't want to linger, so I asked where to find the dishes rather than find myself. I was introduced to Julie who immediately took me to them and explained the popularity of the pattern. She was so easy to work with and had such a relatable sense of humor! There wasn't enough stock on the floor, so she "took my order" and had the stockroom bring everything to the counter, where she wrapped everything individually. Mindy (I believe) cashed me out after making sure to sanitize her station. It was such a seamless process and didn't appear to be creating any negative customer service situations. I purchased a mixing bowl for my mother recently only to learn it is the wrong size. Please bear with me as I go through my experience. I'd take it to corporate but they have a word limit and no direct line. I was in line to return this mixing bowl at about 4:15 on 12/16. I was with my brother but he needed to grab something while we were in line so he left the line and another couple came in behind me. Not wanting to be disruptive he got behind them. When I was at the head of the line, the cashier, an elderly lady named Barbara, was arguing with a younger cashier saying "well I've been doing just fine since noon". The younger cashier looked at me and said "I'll be right back" and walked off. I said that was fine. It's Christmas. It gets busy. A few seconds later Barbara looks around and angrily asks me "where did she go" to which I reply "I'm not sure but she said she would be right back". Barbara then said "well I can help you". Me: Ok! Barbara: what do you need? Me: I'm so sorry but I need to make a return Barbara: rolls her eyes and mutters under her breath Me: excuse me? Barbara: sorry *mutters something else* Me: well I need to return this bowl because it doesn't fit my blender (Now I misspoke and after a long day at work I was not the sharpest tool in the shed, obviously a mixing bowl goes with a mixer) Barbara: (very short aggressive tone) maybe your mixing bowl doesn't work because it goes with A MIXER! At this point the couple behind me gasped and I just stuttered an apology because "I'm sorry it's obviously for a mixer. I just misspoke". Barbara starts pounding the keys and trying to scan but it's not working. She's getting angrier. The young cashier comes back and trades places with Barbara, who is clearly over all of it, and then kindly helps me. When she asked what I wanted to do I said "I'd like to return this mixing bowl because it doesn't fit the mixer". I even thought about it to make sure I didn't screw up because I was already embarrassed. Now, this is why I'm really livid. Barbara was still at the checkout desk but her back was to me and she was facing the customers (who included my brother). When I said that in a snarky sing songy voice she looked at the other customers and said "or maybe it doesn't fit your blender" and the she rolled her eyes, mumbled I was an idiot and walked off. I'm humiliated. I tried to be nice and just got mocked in front of a group of people by an angry lady. The couple who I'd never met even asked if I was ok and apologized for her! We told the manager and he just said "oh yeah. I sent her on her break so it should be good now". No. You should apologize and also, don't let Barbara back in a customer service role. Clearly it's not her jam. Don't fire her that's mean. But definitely don't let her near anyone who wants to buy something and return in the future. Since crate and barrel has no real customer service line and a word limit, this was unfortunately the only place to tell anyone so I knew it would be documented. read more

Plenty of variation when it comes to the styles of furniture they have. A pricey store.. furniture in the triple and quadruple digits. There are always people walking around to help show you around. I recently ordered a few items online from Crate & Barrel for pick-up at the store. The overall service and efficiency of the process was phenomenal! The order was ready to pick-up within hours and the instructions were very clear - either to pick up in-store or check-in once I got there to have the staff bring the order out. I elected to use the online check-in process to reduce the COVID exposure as much as possible. I parked in a reserved space right in front of the store and checked-in online. Within 5 minutes, a staff member brought my order out. I highly recommend this service if you know what you need from the store! read more

I love Crate & Barrel's products... the styles, selection, all that good stuff. Now, I have never purchased furniture there, so that may be a different experience, but we have a good assortment of dishes, kitchen goods, glassware, and silverware from there, and it's all served us well. I also love their holiday seasonal goods... a huge selection of ornaments, decorations, and more, which is what brought me in for my most recent visit to the store. This location has nearby parking in a surface lot, so if you're able to snag a spot there, you can get in and out pretty easily. The staff has always been friendly and attentive when assisting me, and, in fact, on a previous visit, arranged to order in a product when it was discovered they didn't have enough in stock to fulfill my request. Prices run a range... there's affordable glassware and dishes on one side, but then you can go see some expensive furniture in the other half. Sales are run periodically too. read more

OK so what started off as a shopping trip for a wedding, quickly turned into a quest to remodel my entire apartment. I was always intimidated by Crate and Barrel, it looks so sterile and snobby from the outside. But when I started to walk around I realized this place is absolutely amazing! The staff was nice, and the layout of store is conducive for browsing :-) This place reminds me of a grown up Ikea. The prices are absolutely affordable and the designs are phenomenal. read more

My fiancé and I attended one of their private wedding registry events in August. The events are held on Sunday mornings and you get to walk around the store before it opens with a few other couples. They have coffee, orange juice and a light breakfast and a few associates available to answer questions you have. The store manager was super helpful. We had questions about knives and he took the time to go in to detail about all of the different options and what would be best for us. We never felt pressured to buy the most expensive set. At the end of the the two hours they give you a gift to take home, which were two stemless wine glasses. Since this is a free event to attend, I thought this was a really nice touch! Each couple is also entered to win additional gifts. After your wedding you get 10 percent off at the store for six months. I would definitely recommend registering at Crate & Barrel if you are planning a wedding! read more

Since Crate & Barrel have chosen to censor my less than stellar review on their website by not publishing it, I'll bring it to Yelp because people NEED to be aware of this prior to investing money in the Harbor bedroom set. We absolutely love the look of this set. It took us 3 years before commiting to investing in the entire set (queen bed, 2 nightstands and dresser). When we finally did we were over the moon and I was very strict about not using any kind of chemicals in the room (perfume, lotions, etc) because I didn't want anything to get on them. 6 months after we got the set, I noticed the headboard paint was blistering. Little spots all over and nothing had been sprayed near it or even in the same room. We went to our local C&B after not hearing back from the customer service people for 3 weeks. They told us because we ordered it online in lieu of the store that there wasn't anything they could do but as a "courtesy" they would contact them. Finally someone was sent out to look at it, determined it was a defect and they replaced the whole bed, which we were satisfied with. Now, 9 months later we're having issues with the nightstand! I sat down a chapstick on the nightstand (standing up) and it must've gotten knocked over and the next day the paint was completely softened and eaten through to the dark underlay. Are you SERIOUS!?!?! It was all natural chapstick! Keeping anything on top is rare but come on, this is like museum furniture...not for being lived in/on. My husband is furious because they don't sell the Harbor paint for repairs and I refuse to pay for a less than 1 year old nightstand to be repaired so I will take care of the tops of both nightstands with a QUALITY paint and a coat of polycrylic. We agree we will never again buy any big furniture pieces from C&B. We were duped into thinking we were paying for quality workmanship and instead this is the worst furniture we've owned and we've owned some pretty cheap stuff over the years. High prices do not equal quality. read more

LOVE this store. I could simply walk into the store and say, "I'll take that, and that and that ..." First of all they send me their catalogs every so often and it is always fun to see what goodies they have. The hubby and I stopped in here last night after we had dinner. I knew that if we were going to C&B I was going to buy something .... which isnt bad, right? Well we went in and looked at my second cousin's wedding registry. I bought their beer mugs and glasses that she had listed on the registry. The cool part of it all is that the gentleman behind the counter was so helpful - he wrapped each glass individually and then put them in boxes with handles. Uh, my work is pretty much done for the shower. No wonder I love this store. I am just glad this store isnt 'right around the corner' from my house ..... or I'd be in trouble!!! ha!!!! read more

I looked all over the internet to find Duralux 2 oz kitchen prep bowls. After discovering you had them in stock, I ordered 10. I arrived later that night to pick up the bowls. After getting home, I discovered that the bowls were not 2 oz, but 4 oz. I do not need 4 oz prep bowls. Since I had to return these anyway, I went back online to re-order 2 oz bowls. When I got to the store and looked at the new set of bowls pulled for me, I found that they were also 4 oz bowls. The clerk and I checked the shelves. There are no 2 oz prep bowls in the store. I didn't want these bowls either. When we went to do the return, the clerk (very nice and polite, by the way) discovered that 1/2 my order was PayPal and the other 1/2 was on a card. The resolution for the transaction was that my PayPal account was refunded but the other half was $17.09 on a store card. I don't want the store card. C&B is across town from me and I don't shop there. I would like to have my money back instead of the card which serves no purpose for me. Since many stores can search a card to locate the correct transaction, why can't C&B? Suggestions: 1. Someone in your organization doesn't know 2 oz from 4 oz. They should learn this. 2. Your web site has false information. That should probably be corrected. read more

I ordered furniture for a great room and a sunroom July 2nd. I was told that it was a custom order so my furniture would take six to eight weeks. I thought I could live without furniture on the first floor for that long. Little did I know. My furniture was at the warehouse in Illinois on September 2nd, but crate and barrel would not be able to deliver it to me until October 13. A month and a half to get my furniture to Ohio! Crate and Barrel said the don't deliver to the area very often. I live 25 minutes from the store. Does that mean no one in Columbus orders furniture? I'm working with them to get my furniture. I have already been on the phone for an hour tonight on hold. Beware it you need your furniture quickly. read more

I love Crate and Barrel. There is no way to describe the delight that fills my heart when I walk through those doors and aimlessly wander the kitchen gadgets aisles. As an avid baker, survival cook, and poor college student, Crate and Barrel has everything I ever want in life from wine glasses, cake platters, dishes, flatware, coffee mugs...I could go on forever. I'm certainly not rich, but I can afford to buy things at Crate and Barrel. With stemless wine glasses starting at $1.95, there's no excuse to be drinking wine from a plastic cup...unless you're prone to breaking glass. Even then, there are acrylic wine glasses at $2.95. There's nothing that makes me happier than walking through the glassware and looking at all the fantastic glass creations ranging from shot glasses to wine glasses to martini glasses to everyday glasses. Crate and Barrel also has anything you need for your kitchen including but certainly not limited to towels, pie dishes, pots and pans, madeline pans, food scales, salt and pepper grinders, etc. I was standing in the coffee aisle talking to my friend about coffee. He said that when he was in France, he had to ween himself off coffee. "Why didn't you get a French press?" I asked. He replied saying that French presses aren't ubiquitous in France just like French fries aren't really French. I replied, "I had French fries in France," earning myself a laugh from one of the salespeople. I'll be honest, I can't attest to much of the furniture because I'm too poor to buy real furniture. Since half of the store is furniture, I thought I should mention that it has furniture. If you're looking to make a decent home for yourself, go to Crate and Barrel. If anything, at least you'll have nice glassware and some kitchen gadgets. For me, that's all I need. read more

08.10.20 at 3:03pm (with a voice full of SARCASM) I just love a racist place...NOT. We walk into the store with a mask on and abiding to social distancing guidelines. It's our first time here and we stand at what we think is the line near the front counter. At the counter, there are two employees helping a person each. So as we wait, I'm just staring at the displays to the side facing the direction of the door and some white lady with her kids walk past toward the door but get this, she turns her head to stare and me and my friend as she walks away. I wasn't staring at her but because my line of sight from looking at the displays was in her direction, I could see her stare from my peripheral vision. So she leaves the store. My friend and I wait for over five minutes and the same lady that stared at us as she was leaving, walks right back in with her kids and stands to the far left of us and then I realize that my friend and I were not standing in the line at all. FOR THE ENTIRE TIME, no one told us that we were not standing in the right line and this lady who saw us as she left, CAME BACK IN AND STOOD IN THE LINE, not saying a thing. The employee finished with the customer and helped this lady. And after this lady finished and the employee said, "next, can I help you?", the lady whips her head around to look at us. EXCUSE ME? WHY ARE YOU STILL STARING LADY?? Also, to the employee named Diana, you could have helped us earlier. I don't need useless excuses like you were busy or whatnot, there was no line. The only line was me and my friend. This is not Black Friday shopping or holiday shopping. There is no reason to ignore us and it's pretty easy to tell us we're standing in the wrong place. You can also let the other lady know that we were first. In a place where it's a predominantly white population compared to places in California, and combined with the anti-Asian hate crimes during COVID-19, yeah, I'm hyperaware of microaggressions--not that this is the first time I've experienced different treatment in CBUS. It's happened pre-COVID so with COVID, I have even lower expectations of people. read more

I LOVE looking around this store. Everything is so put together and stylish it makes me jealous that my apartment is nowhere near as cute. The store is large enough so it doesn't feel cramped, but not so large as to feel like there's a bunch of space being wasted on the floor. I also thoroughly enjoy creeping around the room set-ups making up little stories in my head as to who would have which living room/bedroom. I had a great Site to Store experience here last night, which is what prompted this review. I needed a wedding shower gift, like, now. No time for shipping so I opted for the in-store pick up. I ordered online at 1:30, selected the 'Box it up, please' option and held my breath. A mere 3 hours later I received an email that my order was ready for pick up. Yay! Drove to Easton and was delighted to find they have 2 reserved parking spots right outside of the store for customers who are picking up orders. Double yay! The associate who helped me was friendly, but not overly so. She handed me my box, I signed and I was out the door in less than 5 minutes. It's truly fantastic when a company can make things as easy as possible for their customers. read more

Pathetic customer service, awful staff, cannot deliver what they promise, over priced for the service that they provide. i paid for a (regular size) sofa on 8/20/2017 (its more than 2000$ for one small sofa so i thought i should pick color and fabric of my choice). sales woman told me it will take 8-12 weeks to deliver sofa as its 'custom made'. so i should get it by 11/14/2017 which is 3 months from the order date. they charged my credit card on 8/20 for full price. Now she calls me last week and says 'computer is saying that sofa will be ready in first week of December', so cannot do anything about it. i have thanksgiving planned with friends and family at my home so all that is spoiled and its 'possible' that it might be even more delayed. they have charged my credit card, received money and don't care about fulfilling their commitment. I am not surprised that this store is losing customers. i am not going back to Crate and barrel for furniture at least. i have ordered custom made dinning table and chairs from the pottery barn around the same time (9/1/2017) and have already received it. so there are better stores than crate and barrel. read more

Great employees, Iffy management. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Jenna while searching for some new kitchenware. She was highly informed and extremely helpful. I would recommend everyone to ask for Jenna with all of their kitchen needs! This would be a 5 star review except I couldn't help but notice that the management was a little snooty and stood around expecting the employees to do all of the work. Honestly, terrible customer service. I ordered something online for store pickup because it said it was available. I get an email confirmation that it is available and ready for pickup then a call that part of my order couldn't be placed so I should call another store to place the rest of my order. I called another store and they helped me place the order but said that I needed to call the initial store to get the refund. I call the initial store and they tell me to call customer service online to get refunded. I call online customer service and hold for 10 min and then they forward me to the first store I called to get refunded. These people have no idea what they're doing. Wouldn't recommend purchasing from them, let alone registering there like I did. read more

Attended a wedding registry party on Sunday morning. The store was closed for the event only. They provided pastries and coffee before the event started. All of the employees were very knowledgeable and helpful. The gift bag included a knife polishing cloth and two stemless wine glasses in a linen bag. This is not a critique of their furniture, but more a critique of their customer service and attention to detail. We bought a new home and purchased an end table from the Easton location, which arrived with a stain. A woman (Nancy?) from the Columbus location called me to see how I liked my purchases and when I mentioned that the table was stained, she said that someone would contact me soon with follow-up to get the table fixed. Not hearing anything for a couple weeks, I phoned back and spoke with another gentleman who AGAIN said that someone would contact me to schedule a repair appointment. Still had not heard anything a week or so later, so ended up returning the table. It took several weeks for them to come pick up the table.
