One of the things I love about C & B is that they keep the tried-and-true basics around for a long time, and in my most recent need to run in, it was for a couple of drinking glasses I broke. These are nice basic glasses that come in three sizes (of course the ones I broke were the larger ones) and I have used them every day for the past 8 years. However, they are still only $2.95 each so this wasn't an expensive trip. The website confirmed they were in-stock, and the 1200+ reviews on these made me feel as though they could be around forever. Made a sofa purchase. On the day of the delivery, Wednesday, our adjacent street was closed off due to road constructions. However, police officers are allowing vehicles to pass and enter the area that are closed for residents and deliveries. Delivery was supposed to happen from 2 to 4pm. Received a call at 2:45pm from Crate & Barrel to say their delivery truck couldn't get through, and they offer to come back on Saturday. I just drove through that intersection and it was cleared for traffic. North bound was blocked a few blocks away, but there was another way to get through to our street. WTF? They didn't look for alternate routes and decided that it was easier to just skip us today and inconvenient us to reschedule. It is such a hassle to take time off from work to wait for a delivery that was scheduled 2 weeks out. We are canceling the order. It's too bad the delivery people is causing C&B to lose a sale. read more

We had a surprisingly poor experience with Crate & Barrel this week. We ordered an entire nursery set ~2.5 weeks ago. The crib (which is the most important thing in the order) was supposed to be delivered in late August. This is what we were told in person in the store when we placed the order. About a week later, we were notified that the crib was now delayed to October. Given that we are not due until early December, I figured that that would still be fine. This week, in the middle of the night, I received an email notifying me that the crib will now be arriving in "early February" which is 5+ months after it was originally supposed to be delivered and 2+ months after we would need it. This was a time-sensitive order. This is not a nice way to treat expectant parents. We have had to cancel the order for the crib and dresser. Fortunately Pottery Barn has saved the day and our crib from there will be arriving (delivery date scheduled) in September. We figured Crate & Barrel would be a reliable company but I guess we were wrong. read more

Recenlty a lot of Crate and Barrel stores are getting a makeover and this location is no exception. It was closed for a little while while the remodeling was happening. Now reopened it is pretty nice, expanding the back of the store to make room for a large furniture section. It is set up like any other location but it is roomier and leaves lots of space to walk around without fear of crashing into a display of Martini Glasses. It never gets that crowded in this location from what I have seen. If you have ever tried to buy a piece of furniture at Crate and Barrel, it can be challenging seeing they don't carry a lot of stock inventory and most of the items need to be ordered to the store or your house. You may luck out and they can check surrounding stores but most of the time, its a bust. read more

We've shopped at Crate for years, it's our go-to for stylish, practical home goods. Most of my cocktail hour hardware is from their extensive collection - I'm just an amateur mixologist, but I place high value on the right glassware. I recently went in to replace some broken champagne flutes (long story) that I had purchased at Crate years ago. It being Saturday in the mall, I had to wait a few minutes to get into the store, which has a very open feeling. I described the glass to one of the very helpful, friendly staff who knew immediately what I was looking for. She even remembered me - despite masks - from the last time I was there. Very personal approach, and she asked genuine questions about our plans for Thanksgiving (just my wife and I plus two of our covid bubble friends) which got me thinking about the table setting. She guided me to the seasonal table settings and I ended up with some delightful Swedish themed chargers and a runner that compliment our epic Yukon table (also Crate & Barrel). Fantastic shopping experience, even in covid times - and just as importantly good value for money. read more

I have worked for many years with the Natick store, with Jerome until he retired recently, and now with Kristin. As an interior designer, I appreciate the care and attention I received/receive from these 2 wonderful and efficient managers. Adding items to consolidate shipping (even items from CB2), putting away floor model items that were discontinued but that my client absolutely wanted, borrowing samples or even entire stools to try in-situ... They know what it takes for designers to work efficiently, and they deliver. Yes the supply chain is still a mess, and I had a number of pushed-back delivery dates, which they are not responsible for. But this is not their fault. It is across the board, from tiles taking months to ship from Italy to custom loft ladder taking months to ship from the US. Even my local metal and glass fabricators are behind as they cannot get raw supplies. Please be kind and patient. Most people are trying their best. read more

I, as a paying customer think I deserve just as much attention as the other paying customers in the store do. On my visit there today for a last minute Christmas present, I approached Leslie to simply ask her a question. She was not in the middle of a transaction and I saw nothing wrong with just asking her one question about where an item was located. She refused to look up at me, stating "I'm with a customer" rather rudely. However it seemed to me that she was just putting tissue paper in a box preparing the order to be purchased. I asked her the harmless question and once again was very rudely spoken too. After I had found the item I was looking for, Brian, Anja and Cheryl S. were all very helpful to me in checking me out and making sure I was satisfied. Kudos to them. As for Leslie, maybe some extra customer service classes should be her Christmas present this year. read more

This is the closest C&B to our house, so I'm usually here at least once a month, if not more. The store itself is fine, a bit smaller than the ones downtown that I'm used to shopping in. But it's also less crowded, and lines are shorter. It seems to carry most of the items in their catalogs, just not as much furniture. I love C&B, and could furnish my entire house from here. My only complaint/gripe/issue is that most of their inventory is seasonal. So if I love something, and don't pick it up within a couple of months, it's long-gone. read more

I took some unused acrylic plates to return since they didn't match the bowls I'd bought. It's been raining out and they had a few water marks on them. They went to the car across some rain earlier. The customer service rep was unnecessarily rude about it saying they had been used because of the water marks. I would never return a used item (and said so to her)! But the reason for this review is the obvious typecasting and jumping to a conclusion without even asking me politely or mentioning the issue nicely. I don't appreciate any customer service rep that wouldn't treat me the same as a well presented Caucasian. If this is how she would treat everyone, then she needs to be taught better. I think they need some lessons in equality and talking to every customer with trust. I understand that the plates can't be returned and respect that, but said with respect that would not make me feel like a liar when I am telling the truth. read more

NEVER AGAIN. DISDAINFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER PURCHASE. We bought a pricey piece of funiture at the Natick store recently, and followed the salesman's directions with regard to payment, which put the balance of the payment due on the Crate and Barrel credit card he stressed we should obtain. Soon after, we found that a procedural error on the salesman's part had created a $500.+. duplicate charge. My husband spent hours trying to correct the matter - made calls, wrote a detailed letter amply documenting the facts, and finally returned to the store after politely arranging by phone to meet with a manager as the salesman had failed to inform the Crate and Barrel credit card company that the entire balance had been paid to the store on another credit card. After driving the 35 minutes to the store,my husband was astonished when the manager declined to sit down to discuss the matter and was ice cold to our predicament. Her hostility and lack of cooperation -and that of the original salesman, who walked by but declined to step in- were demeaning, bordering on bullying. At no time at that point did either salesperson express any concern for our stress and inconvenience over this mess. Instead, they led him to feel unwelcome in the store and unworthy of their attention. My husband left in utter dismay. After subsequent stonewalling by the Crate and Barrel credit card bank, my husband and I have decided our sanity is worth more than the money- we no longer choose to fight the doublebilling or risk diminished credit - and we are sacrificing the money. Seriously, the worst customer service experience ever. Firstly, while browsing in the Natick store, no staff member greeted us or offered to help us, even though I saw staff members being so courteous and helpful to others. After waiting and trying to get anyone's attention, I finally had to go seek a staff member myself. We placed an order and set a delivery date. They gave me no courtesy call prior to their arrival on the delivery date to tell me they were on their way or 20 min away etc. Every delivery service I've ever had in my life has provided a courtesy call, so crate and barrel, get it together. So then we missed the delivery and was told by the delivery service that crate and barrel would call us. They didn't. I had to call them, and was told, well the delivery service came and no one was home. Ok, yes, I know that, I apologized for not being home since I didn't know they were coming, and so I asked for help about rescheduling the delivery. They told me they would call the warehouse and would call me back. I waited 20 minutes and decided to call since no one followed up with me. I spoke the same person when I call back and AGAIN WAS TOLD TO WAIT because they needed to call either the warehouse or delivery service. Seriously. Get it together. I asked for a refund. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

My fiancé and I went to Crate and Barrel this morning to register for our wedding. We were both clueless, like lost puppy dogs! Not to mention, totally overwhelmed. Libby helped us and was amazing! She took her time, showed us how to mix and match items and encouraged us to slow down and try holding things, styling things, etc. She also cautioned us on what we didn't really NEED to buy. She wasn't pushy or over the top. You could tell she wanted a young couple to get the right basics for their home, and really preached quality over a designer name, etc. She had a great energy that we both thrived off of. Libby and her team were amazing. They also let us browse the store without interrupting us constantly or trying to lead us towards the most expensive options. I only gave them one star so the review would post. We ordered a family room rug on-line for store pick up in Natick. Waited over 3 weeks and called the store. They didn't have it and no one at the corporate warehouse new anything about it. Their only remedy was to cancel the ship-to-store order and send it to my house. Told it would be 3-5 days before I saw it. 8 Days later I call and it hasn't shipped and they can't tell me why? Everything is a mystery and C&B? I instructed the customer service rep to cancel the order. She replied it would take "a few days" to determine if the order could be canceled? I told her my next call was to Amex and miraculously she could cancel it. In the meantime we ordered a rug a week ago from a competitor and it's under the dining room table today. My advice, buy from a competitor. One last thing, at on-line check out it says they will charge you 50% deposit and the rest when it ships. They charged 100% in full on the day of the transaction. read more

There is an old saying..."You get what you pay for" and in our new world of Online and Budget discount furniture stores, when the prices and free shipping seem too could to be true, they usually are too good to be true. Then when your badly damaged box arrives on your doorstep and the item is chipped, cracked and crushed...you wish you had gone to a reliable place like Crate and Barrel, paid a bit more, and had knowledgeable associates, good quality and most of all...peace of mind. So that all happened to me recently, not once but twice ordering from discount online stores and finally i got smart and purchased my new items for my coastal cottage from Jerome Magnifico (yes that is his name and he is indeed magnificent at what he does) at Crate and Barrel. I could not be more pleased with the service I received. I actually worked with him a few years ago when I purchased my beautiful outdoor wicker patio set and was so happy to see that he was still there, just as professional, and just as eager to help as he was a few years back. I received my dining table and chairs for a reasonable price (not dirt cheap but fair) but take comfort in the fact that they are good quality and I will enjoy them stress free I am sure for years to come. read more
