I used to go here as it was recommended by the AKC. Big mistake, our pure bread German Shepherd…read morewas so afraid of them, he would pee on the floor. I bought him in for hip X-rays and had to leave him for 1 night. He was NEVER the same. He not only showed severe aggression toward the Vet the Vet would sit across the room to "exam" him. What a joke. I switch to another vet, with more experience however our dog is now totally traumatized by this experience and shows severe fear aggression anytime he gets near a vet office. With rabies shows every three years I am now treading it and considered having them come to my home. Not sure if that would even be a good idea.

VCA brown in South Burlington is the worst vet I have encountered. On 8/29/23 I took my dog in for…read morea hot spot. Very common treatment that can be cured at home, however I wanted to be safe due to sensitivity. I went in to see Dr.Wagner. After 30 minutes of talking she FINALLY assed the hot spot and went over treatment. The estimated price was 322 dollars (I have a care plan so the visit itself is free) they attempted to charge me 50 dollars for Cephalexin, 112 dollars for apoquel and 60 dollars for a probiotic. I explained that I could get the Cephalexin for 11.87 at Osco pharmacy with a written prescription and I could get the allergy medication (apoquel) from chewy for under 70 dollars. I also explained that I have a probiotic I give my dog daily at home for far cheaper and would not like to pay for that service. Dr.Wagner told her staff to tell me that "she did not have time to hand write a prescription so I could either wait a day or two, or pay the fee in house." I was also charged 76 dollars to have a vet tech shave the area and apply a cream on the hot spot. Which I could have done myself and the medication they used is sold at EVERY pet supply store. I was discharged without any follow up instructions, care, or medications. I am not one to write a negative review. However this place will take advantage of you and your wallet if they can. I have 10 years of healthcare experience, 2 years of pharmacy experience and 18 years of being a pet owner. I have NEVER met a facility that is so willing to Nickel and dime you like VCA. I will be following up with the board with this matter as well to protect people from being taken advantage of financially. It's been 5 hours and I still have yet to receive a prescription for my dogs infection which is very negligent. DO NOT get a care plan from here if you are looking for a reliable vet who will put clients and their pets as a first priority. I am glad I did not overpay for the prescriptions I can get for under 10 dollars. I do wish I did not allow them to shave my dog's patch of skin for 75 dollars after waiting 2 hours in an office. But I guess you can't fight every battle. Please do yourself and find a vet that cares. Best, Angie and Bear.

Perhaps something changed recently with their move to the new locations, but communication and…read morecleanliness seem to be issues. Their website includes a cancellation policy that says low stress, one dog at a time. I visited in advance of booking to check the place out. I was assured that no other dogs would be in the room with my very excitable dog. When I arrived for the appointment it turns out he was going to be groomed on a table right next to another dog. And that table was strewn with lots of different items, it would have needed to be cleared off before they could put my guy there. Not sure what the plan was. So we agreed I would reschedule. Then I found they had charged $114 on my credit card. When I finally had service there today I'd assumed the charge would be applied to this service. I was told no, but after a little push back they relented. However, they charged an additional $90 for a second rinse - just a rinse, no dry, to remove the clippings that make my dog itch. Nearly as much as the full service. And I am concerned about cleanliness. when we arrived the floor and grooming table were covered with piles of hair from other dogs. gthere was even fur out in the hallway. Gwen swept it up, but only after I mentioned it. Likely the clippers and tools were not disinfected after the last dog, and she uses a shared lick mat, not cleaned between dogs. These are red flags in regard to disease. I wish them luck in growing a successful business, but I won't be going back.

This crew is exceptionally patient with our big boy getting groomed. They stick to the mission and…read morevalues and it is greatly appreciated.
