They bruised my 9 pound dog she's had a bruise on her shoulder for over a week! Then charged 40 dollars extra to shave her .

I visited the Williston store today and found the three employees extremely unhelpful. When I asked for assistance in choosing an item that the website states they had, I was told the website isn't always right and they may not have it but didn't help look for it. I needed to measure a replacement tray for a dog crate and they made no attempt to help. Fortunately I found my own way to measure it and got the correct item but it was Very poor customer service and I will not return. read more

They send me "deals" online ne and when I go to this store there is only one person on duty, at the checkout. I go to the items I want to buy, and must use qr code in petsmart app to get bonus points or discounts. The app always comes back with some error message "not able to login". I wait in long line (many customers, one cashier) ask what to do, and they say if it doesn't work, no deal. What a loss, this is where I used to always get my supplies (5-8 dogs) but with no one ever working on the floor and no manager on duty, I hate it here! read more

I'm actually very worried to take our dog back for grooming after observing one of the groomers yelled, "Stop moving!" at a tiny dog while trying to clip their nails and then snatched its arm in an aggressive way. I told the woman that was checking us in to make sure that that person didn't have any contact with our dog. Our dog is very friendly, but he really hates to go to PetSmart and I'm beginning to wonder if some of the feedback discussed in these negative reviews are the reason why. Today, they told us that he tried to bite while getting his nails done and after what I had observed earlier, it's seems likely because they are not gentle. I usually have his nails clipped at the vet, but decided to get him a full package today and now I'm reminded why I never used to do that before. About a year ago, they actually clipped one of his dewclaws and it was bleeding and they didn't own up to it and we didn't notice it until we got home. Around the holidays, we paid a little extra for him to get the cookies scent at the end of his treatments and they didn't--when I mentioned it, one of the associates ran back there and grabbed the spray and sprayed him at the exit. Today I paid for the same spray and again, they didn't. It just doesn't seem like they love dogs there. :( read more

I had a great experience with PetSmart for grooming my dog in New Jersey so I figured it would be the same when I moved to Vermont. My local groomer (non-PetSmart affiliated) no longer was open on the weekend so I started taking my dog to the Williston location around October. Since then, the reports back from the groomer each time were getting increasingly worse with the most recent report back saying that he kept trying to bite them and they had to have another person help them complete the grooming. Last week, my local groomer (non-PetSmart affiliated) had a last minute opening so I was able to get my dog in with them. Eventually, I received a text from her saying that she could not even complete the hair cut around his face because he kept trying to bite her, which she said is absolutely not like him and he has NEVER engaged in that kind of behavior with her before. I ran right over and she explained that, although he has always been nervous, he has never been so aggressive during a grooming before. She expressed concern that whoever I have been bringing him to (PetSmart), they were not caring for him appropriately and that there are better ways to work through the grooming with him. Additionally, this groomer at PetSmart caused my dog to have an ulcer in over a third of his eye, for which I had to immediately bring him to the animal hospital twice with a bill close to $800. When I spoke to that same groomer about it the next time I brought him in, she did not even know what an ulcer was or that a dog could get one in the eye... these groomers need way more training than they are receiving. I feel mislead and my trust has been broken. read more

I tried to buy a leopard gecko and was refused when purchasing one because they "need a 20 gallon tank or more". I was also going to purchase a 100 dollar starter kit with a kit specifically made for leopard geckos but when I explained that they still refused to sell it. Terrible customer service. read more

I was told you can only get female animals at this store. From my experience so far this has been true. I'm a huge guinea pig lover. Always buy my wigglies here. But, due to animals being shipped from out of state and being placed with other animals. You should bring them to the vet. I've bough piggies here and they've become ill within 24 hours of bringing them home. (This can happen anywhere you buy a animal) Only down fall, is the lack of love I've seen the employees show the animals. They are never gental when handing them or placing them in a box. I always request bedding and hay to replaced in the box cause let's face it. You are taking a tiny little soul from a box that it probably just started adjusting to, then placing it in a box with no comfort. I couldn't tell you about the grooming area cause I don't have a dog, but it's always fun to look around at the animals. read more

In terms of varieties of Guinea pigs, parakeets, geckos, fish, specialized pet foods and treats/ collars,etc., PetSmart is wonderful. I liked the knowledgeable PetSmart representative who fielded my questions about fish filters. I had the sense that he was an expert on fish. This store is huge ! It is beautifully organized and very clean. Staff members are variously busy with projects: cleaning cages, cuddling Guinea pigs, emptying litter box displays, and grooming pets. Their staff is professional and accommodating; and, returns are easy . The community is very fortunate to have a PetSmart here. read more

I just had such a bad experience at the Williston store at 8:20pm, that I will not be returning after this. We made an out of the way trip specifically to go grab fish from them. Maybe they were mad that we showed up 40 minutes before closing?? My son and I were so excited and went in to grab two guppies for our fish tank since it only has two snails in it right now. The staff, who were standing at the registers, completely ignored us, and when I finally had to go back up and ask the guy at the registers if someone could please grab us two guppies, the guy that came back to help me smelled like pot, appeared to be high, and told me he would not sell me the guppies after he asked how big our tank is and I told him I wasn't sure of my tank size but thought it's a 7 or 8 gallon, and that it's a bit larger than the tank the guppie school was in at the store - it also has a filter that's rated for a larger tank. He told me he can't sell me the guppies if I don't have a ten gallon tank. I told him I was willing to try the two guppies in my tank, which I keep incredibly clean, since I'm pretty sure they'll do great. He refused to sell me the fish. We are so disappointed, and plan to switch our patronage to PetCo instead after this experience. I understand employees wanting to protect the safety of the animals they sell, but this was unreasonable and over the top, and was a terrible customer service experience. Please hire better staff, or provide training on the difference between when it's important to provide guidance versus when you can provide guidance but then let a customer make their final decision for their own tank. read more

Recently got a toy poodle puppy and she was in need of a hair cut, a lot of places around my area (Montpelier) were either not accepting new clients, we're booked up, or weren't answering calls. I liked the ability to book online and schedule an appointment. However, I expected them to give my dog a haircut, trim their nails, clean their ears, and give them a bath. They did one of those things. They gave her a bath. I have gave my dog two baths already, I didn't need to drive to Williston on my day off to pay $20 for some person to give her a bath. I needed them to do the things I'm not trained or comfortable doing and they didn't. Then they tried telling me that my dog had fleas when I even asked a VET if she had them and she said no. Honestly think they just didn't want to do their damn job. Never going back there, you lost my business. read more

I had a appointment to have my teacup yorkie groomed and I told them over the phone that she doesn't like to have her face groomed I was told that they normally have 2 people that will help to groom her face, to bring her in. I brought her in and within 30 mins get a call back stating that they can't groom her face as she tried to bite them as they were told she would so then that also meant that they couldn't give her a bath or anything. This is your job your gonna tell me a 6lb yorkie is to much to handle compared to the 3 large dogs you had in there. Upon returning to get my yorkie this women with a black head bonnet is there grooming this larger dog and I see her squeeze this big paw so hard that this dog let out the loudest and longest yelp of pain this work turns around and tells this dog to shut up if you had your dog here on 4/28 between times of 10-11am and you have a large off white dog it very well was your dog. I'll never return to this place for any kind of business. These worker shouldn't be working with animals. read more

My Katie cat got a nasty sore over her right eye. Vet gave her steroids that did nothing and was very hard to administer. I went to PetSmart out of desperation and they suggested a cortisone cream. Within 24 hours the wound and rash were healing and she stopped scratching. A big thank- you to the knowledgeable staff. Katie actually came back to me to indicate she was itchy again and we reapplied the cream and she was happy again. I am so relieved. read more

Love this place. It's as simple as that. My partner and I often bring our cat Piko to this store on his leash for a good walk and to get Piko's energy out. Piko is very well received and loved by the staff and patrons alike. He actually loves going to the bird cages and attempting to make friends- it never works out for him. But he also loves meeting people at the store and being ooohedd and ahhhedd over as he is a Bengal and knows how to strutttttt. :) I just want to add that the store is very receptive of a cat being on a leash and always willing to help out. They also have a lot of different products which we are big fans of. read more

Was very disappointed. These are our babies there were no smiles from the girls working there. Didn't make me feel secure enough to even walk away from my girls! And they were only having nails trimmed and grinded. I paid $20.00 for each it said in the ap that was to include nail trim, grind,shave pad, trim-ear hair and clean ear, Bandana and spritz. None of that happened only a trim and grind. The girls working there just didn't look like they wanted to be there! read more

Recently started coming here instead of Petco in Burlington. It's a night-and-day difference. You can actually find people that work here and ask them questions! Crazy, I know! It's also a bigger store with much better selection. I've also brought my Old English Sheepdog here for grooming twice and was very happy. He loves Erin, who also taught his puppy class, which was really fun for him and really helpful for me. PUPPY BATH: If you have a puppy, they'll bathe and brush him/her for $11. Sooooooo worth not having that mess in your bathroom :D And proably the cheapest and easiest way to get your puppy squeaky clean and fluffy again. read more

Petsmart is the biggest pet story in our area. Does big box always mean better? No it really doesn't. As I walk in its a pretty clean area. Doesn't smell all that bad and so on. Its pretty well kept! So where do my complaints began? The cost of the dog food! Yes thats right. Dog food can cost you upward to $50+ a bag. In my mind that's just wrong! I mean hell sense when does the family dog eat better than the family it self? Really...Ask your self that! Not that my dog or animals are not important to me. Just srange... The staff here is also pretty much lost. If you ask them why the food cost is so high they all most never have an answer. Now the answer would be simple...They contain veggies and meats. I mean I don't know about you but the last time I checked dogs like meat first and for most. So why give them veggies? They have lasted for 100's of years without veggies. So why do we start giving it to them now? No really sure! So whats good about Petsmart? The toy selection! They have a great selection for all sizes! They have both cheap toys or some more expensive ones. Kongs are my dogs favorite! The treat selection is also pretty good. Again good for dogs of any size and the prices are pretty fair here too! So why the 2 stars? The main reason why most people go to a Pet store would be for doggy food. So with that being said other stores like Pet Food Ware House offer cheaper food and their staff just seems to be more knowledgeable. So in this case bigger box store is not better! I will not even give this PetSmart in Williston, VT one star. I absolutely hate the way me and my dog were treated today. I used to take my dogs there for grooming and today I was notified of a new rule. You see my 11 year old dog always poops on the floor when I get to the salon or vet at our camper in the car this is a behavioral habit he has developed. Well when Boo got to the salon he did what he usually does and pooped on the floor. I was then notified by staff that because of that I had to walk him for 15 minutes and if he pooped or peed again I would have to take him to the emergency vet service. First let me say SHAME ON YOU PetSmart for telling me that I would place my dog at risk or in danger with his health when you don't even know me. Secondly SHAME ON YOU for treating my dog whom has been there before like he is a bad boy. I will never go to your grooming salon or purchase supplies and or food from you again. Your see within my family we have 20 dogs and 5 cats that will not purchase ANYTHING from you again. You also need to reassess your management team. I called and spoke to Emily the salon manager and she was rude spoke over me and made the situation worse! She needs to be replaced with somebody who knows how to treat people. This store has a good selection of pet products, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. They are rude and pushy. I went in to buy a harness for my new puppy and this female associate kept pushing other products on me that I don't need. She all but reprimanded me for not buying everything there. I already had everything I needed except a harness that fit my tiny pup. I will not shop there again. I don't appreciate being treated that way. read more

We came to Pet Smart for grooming for our American Eskimo. The experience was great all around, from scheduling our appointment online right through to pickup. Because Pet Smart's internal software does not allow all vaccination records to show from store to store, we were grateful that the groomer, Chelsea, offered a quick solution and our vet was able to quickly fax the necessary records directly to the store. Buddy received a first class grooming and looks terrific. read more

I am happy with the pawdicure my pug pups received today at the Williston VT PetSmart. They did a seamless job as they performed what would have taken myself a half hour of literal blood, sweat, and tears/torture for me and them. Simply and gently these groomers easily awed my pugs into feeling better with all their toe nails being healthily maintained. We bought a fish tank and 5 tetras yesterday at Petsmart Williston. We were looking forward to see happy fish swimming in the tank sitting our living room that afternoon but it never happened. Should I first mention that we found only four fish in the bag? First, the tank leaked and soaked our bookshelf after we filled it. We had to buy silicone to seal it because we wanted to put the fish in ASAP so they wouldn't die. After all fixing and cleaning, we found a piece of paper printed information that noted this tank was a returned item and not sellable. Is it a joke or something? THIS tank was on the shelf for sale and neither the staff in the store or or their system informed the customer this item shouldn't be sold. We called the store today to explain what happened and would like to know what they can do for us. The answer is if we want our money back, we have to drive all the way there to return the item. Is it another joke? We are over 45 minutes away from the store and it was NOT OUR FAULT THEY PUT THE RETURNED ITEM ON THE SHELF IN THE FIRST PLACE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ASKED US TO DO THIS FOR THE MISTAKES THEY MADE. This is definitely NOT a place we will go shopping again. The saddest part is that after all this, all of the fish died as we had to wait for the silicone to cure. I suppose we should be glad they shortchanged us on the fish... I admit - we buy the hyper expensive dog food. When we first got Bella, aka our "little princess", she was just a pup at a shelter that was feeding her adult food lacking in any of the nutrients that she needed. It became obvious she wasn't digesting it properly when we made the drive home from Monroe, NY and our pup spent much of the trip barfing all over the interior of the car. We transitioned her to a much more appropriate feed shortly after arriving home. This food was consequently more expensive but as we had only one dog, we felt we should at least do what we could to make sure she got what she needed to grow. Three years later, she's now on the adult version of the same food. She loves it so it doesn't make sense to fiddle with her food, especially since we can get it at our local "hardware and the kitchen sink" store and they regularly send us $5 off any purchase coupon. That aside, I would never buy the food at PetSmart - it's even pricier there and I never get a coupon for it! What I do really like about PetSmart - and it can be our little secret - is the clearance section on the right side of the store. I went in recently needing a new pet bed. I was really struggling with paying $50 for what is fabric and foam and inadvertently stumbled into the clearance section. Lo and behold a wonderfully soft Martha Stewart brand, brown-checked bed for $14!!!! Whoa! Apparently it was part of their holiday collection (this was post-holiday time) but you could have fooled me! Generally a clean store but the adoptable kitty section needs a good cleaning from time-to-time. I admit that I like to poke my head in there to "say hi" whenever I'm in. And if one happens to jump into my arms on my way out... just don't tell my husband! So, in a nutshell. Good : clearance selection, dog toys, treats, bowls, etc. Cons : The whole "card" thing never seems to do much for me, expensive food / beds, occasionally smelly cat area. read more

I've been going to petsmart groomers for a while now and honestly- i love them. It can be a little loud with all the dryers, and the cuts aren't always totally perfect, which is why they get 4 out of 5 stars. They are nice and friendly and most imporant are very sweet with my groomer-shy shih-tzu. I like that I can check in and see how he's doing and they give him a pretty standard puppy cut (although sometimes one side is a little bit lop-sided- but that's ok) Resonability priced and very sweet. read more

We had an appointment scheduled and due to traffic were running behind in getting him there on time. However, appointment windows are for 4 hours and it has never taken more than 3.5 hours for the full grooming process. I explained this to the lady and she responded by saying that if we arrive more than 20 minutes past our start time they will not take the puppy. We arrived 24 minutes past our start time and they refused to take him. Given past experience of the grooming only taking 3.5 hours this was completely uncalled for and inconsiderate. Things happen in life that make you late and I did the courtesy of calling ahead to let them know and they still refused to take him for his appointment. Needless to say we will never be returning to this location for grooming services, if you can't work with the customers we can't work with you. read more
