Cool part about this place is that you get a side car of tea when you order a smoothie which comes with a variety of add-ins of your choosing. I found this little shop after searching for a shop with protein shakes. I'm not a Herbalife person by any means...just a weekly shake fix before my swimming lesson. I've visited on Saturdays midday. I've tried the Strawberry Cheesecake and Banana Creme Pie shakes. Both were yummy and very filling. I appreciate the idea of this place, but I wish businesses like this, & the customers who visit would realize that the proteins they are using are NOT good for you. Soy is terrible for you! It's a known endocrine disrupter, it's horrible for your gut & it's loaded with pesticides (carcinogens). Also, if you look at the ingredients, they're all bioengineered, which is also TERRIBLE for you. If you want to hold the title "Crave Nutrition" then you need to use real ingredients. Ok so when I first heard about how great their smoothies were I was a little sketch. They were having a promo today for a free smoothie & tea & metabolic test so I decided sure why not! OMG!! I had their blueberry muffin smoothie and I swear it was like eating literally a muffin! The BEST part... it was only 240 calories for a 16oz drink that gives you all the nutrition of a 1500 calorie meal!! I'm sorry but what? This little smoothie has more protein than a chicken thigh, more fiber than 1/2 cup of broccoli, more calcium than 6oz of yogurt, more iron than 1/2 cup of beans, more vitamin A than a mango, and more vitamin C than a banana... this smoothie covers ALL the basic needs you body craves for! I went on an empty stomach (growling actually) and after my smoothie and tea I am stuffed! I almost bought another for the road because it tastes SOOOO good but I'm glad I didn't now as I wouldn't be able to drink it until dinner, hehe Also I got a metabolic test done while I was there too. It was really interesting to see what my resting metabolic rate is, what my fat percentage is, and the amount of excess fat I have. Anyways... long story longer.... LOVE THEM! This place is the best. I train jiu jitsu about 3 times a week and was going to Subway, 7-11, Tokyo Joes, Garbonzo, Chipotle, ect.... after training on a regular basis. This place is an excellent option for meal replacement instead of those other heavy places. I've been coming here for almost a month now about 3 times a week and I've already lost 5 lbs without doing anything different and my energy levels are a lot higher throughout the day. If you are looking for a place to get a great smoothie or meal replacement shake after a long hard workout, or just want something healthy to tide you over for the next few hours, I highly recommend you try this place out. The smoothies are a great healthy alternative on my lunch break and I love the complimentary aloe shot or green tea drink. It's very filling and will keep you satisfied throughout the day. **Please note that they are more of a protein shake based drink and not exactly a smoothie with fresh fruit etc...(this isn't a Jamba Juice smoothie place) There are so many flavors to chose from which will make me coming back. The only thing to note is the hours are slightly shorter during the week I believe open until 3:30pm daily and closed on Sunday's. Totally misleading. My mother, who is on a pretty strict diet, and I decided to stop in after finding their website. We walked in to a gigantic, glaring advertisement of HerbaLife protein powder and nutritional supplements. This was in no way the Juice Bar/Smoothie place we were expecting. In fact, there is no indication that anything served here did not come from some type of jar, can, or box. After speaking with one of the employees who tried to sell their nutritional supplement in the typical 'used car salesman' fashion you might expect from a late night infomercial, I was even more confused than when we first walked in. This place may be great for some people, but I don't really buy in to the idea that a meal in a cup with a bunch of added supplements is much better for you than a good balanced diet. And I definitely don't like being mislead into purchasing something that came from who-knows where and contains who-knows what. The man that was working seemed to be pretty knowledgable. But when the entire store is branded with HerbaLife products, that screams bias to me. And I also find it odd that there is no mention of this place being an HerbaLife distributor anywhere obvious on their website. I found it after doing some digging... but the fact that I had to look pretty hard to find it makes me feel even more mislead. Whether this place actually cares about your health, or is just pushing their HerbaLife supplements remains up for debate. Either way, I won't be going back. read more

I was running late and was craving a smoothie. Came across this hidden gem after googling places close to the area I was in. I walked in and was greeted by two super friendly gals, who also possessed a great sense of humor. Now, I was wanting a smoothie, only to discover this place does not do smoothies.... they do meal replacement drinks. They have a large selection on their menu. I settled on the peanut butter and chocolate flavor. It was very good and didn't have that sort of chalky texture like you might find from a protein shake. Super yummy and super yummy. Smoothies are actually good. The tea it comes with has a bit of a weird taste at first but you get used to it. Their "meal plan" recommendation is essentially the slim fast diet, 2 shakes a day and then a healthy dinner. They don't really recommend physical activity which made no sense to me. Had been going in pretty regularly and was almost signed up to sell the herbalife products but decide not to because of the way the program worked. The owner of the shop knew my name at one point but once I decided not to become an herbalife rep he managed to forget my name and would call me something different everytime i went in. My first (only) time entering Crave, at 9729 W Coal Mine Ave, their door was propped open, but when I walked in they told me they were closed. The Owner offered me a coupon for a free shake due to my inconvenience...I considered that good customer service. I'm never in the neighborhood, (the day I was there my daughter and I made a special trip because she loves their shakes, wanted one and wanted me to try one) and they close too early on the weekends for me to get back there on a whim, so I gave my daughter the coupon as she is a frequent visitor and I knew she would be returning soon (with or without me), not to mention she spends quite a bit of money at the establishment. Today my daughter went in and tried to use the coupon and the Owner denied her. He said, "that is for new customers only." My daughter said, "I was with my mom when you gave her her the coupon." The Owner said, "that coupon is for your mom, not you." My daughter explained to him that I gave her the coupon to use. He told her, "no, you are not a new customer." It's not like my daughter went back and took it off his desk and he had reason to suspect that she was being shady...but he treated her as if she was doing something wrong. I have raised my kids to have respect for people and to live by the Golden Rule; it's amazing to me that some adults don't know how to act. Why on earth would he treat her so poorly? Why couldn't he have been kind in denying her? He could've been nice about it, but he wasn't. He treated her poorly and unfairly over a few bucks (actually more than a few - that place IS expensive). I had every intention of going back to try a shake, but I will not now. The customer service that I appreciated the day he gave me the coupon is no longer relevant. The Owner displayed very poor customer service. You would think small retail business Owners would realize their business thrives on repeat customers. This Owner could care less.
