Stainless steel cars! (DeLorean, not pictured, was parked upstairs)
    Chris Y.

What a fantastic car museum! The collection of "veteran" brass-era cars is one of the best I have seen. I could have been happy enough just looking at the ground-level displays, but then I discovered that there is a huge basement area that is packed full of a wide variety of classic cars! One huge cool factor is the number of cars they have that were built in Ohio. OH isn't well-represented in the auto industry anymore, but the vehicles here show that Ohio has been a part of automotive history since the early days of the automobile. Other than that, they've got a good variety of cars across brands, countries, and eras - some really unique pieces here! Some highlights for me were the electric Bakers, a 1913 Alco, a couple Chrysler concept cars, and four stainless-steel-bodied cars (only one of which was a DeLorean!). Of course, they've got examples of all the more popular pieces of automotive history, like a Mercedes 300SL, Ferrari 365 California, Ford Model T's, Packards, Chryslers, Oldsmobiles, etc. even a GM EV1! It seems a little weird to me that they have a big fancy carousel, and the price of admission includes two tokens for rides. Uhh, thanks?? I didn't want them, and I felt weird approaching a couple kids in the museum and offering them my tokens -- but I would've felt weirder if I was riding around on the carousel myself. They could do away with that and I wouldn't mind. There's also a few highlights of aviation history here ... not much, almost an afterthought or a side-project. It hearkens back to the glory days of air racing and daring pilots and the like. The highlight is probably the P-51 on display, and those are always cool to see!

The Wedell-Williams Ring-Free Comet - which was a racing aircraft that flew in the Thompson Trophy air race in Cleveland, Ohio in 1937.

Besides the cool collection of vintage cars at the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum (which is part of the Cleveland History Center), you'll see the Wedell-Williams Ring-Free Comet - which was a racing aircraft that flew in the Thompson Trophy air race in Cleveland, Ohio in 1937. Unfortunately, it dropped out of the event due to engine failure.

    Tinkerbelle

Great collection of planes, cars and motorcycles, but that's not what I travelled from Florida to see. Back on display is the 13 1/2 foot sailboat Robert Manry, Cleveland Plain Dealer copy editor, sailed solo across the Atlantic in 1965. I was captivated by the story when I first read his book as a child, and every time since. Seeing Tinkerbelle was one of the few unchecked boxes on my bucket list. Check. Not only did I see her, but the curator went out of his way to ensure my trip to the museum was a full Tinkerbelle experience. If you don't know Tinkerbelle, see her in all her glory anyway. Read the book, and watch the DVD for sale in the gift shop. Both are extremely well done. Thank you, Crawford!

If you remember walking through the town as a kid... don't bother to go downstairs and ruin your memories.

Please sell the rest of the collection to someone who cares! The renovation is over... there are banners outside saying it is open for business!!! There is nothing left. The first floor has a beautiful area for a carousel... and a terrible exhibit of the Cleveland air races... very few articles... none of the engines on the planes or cars are open... you can look at the pretty paint job... nothing more! The volunteers / employees sat on chairs playing with their cell phones... they ignored everyone and everything. You really don't have to pay to see it... I guess if you don't get a sticker in the gift shop someone might notice you are there and say something... but don't bet on it. I don't know what to say about the downstairs... I am beyond heartbroken... less than 25% of the fixtures have bulbs in them. I had to fiddle with my camera's settings to get anything to even show up... it was darker than the darkest dive bar you can imagine. The racing collection... gone. Soap Box Derby.............gone. Employees stationed in storefronts explaining anything.... gone Mirrors under the vehicles to see the transmissions / axels / anything.... gone Trunks / Bonnets / Hoods open... gone. PLEASE sell what is left to someone who cares!!

I've been to my fair share of natural history museums, and while this one is compact, it is very modern and packs a punch! When you enter, you're immediately greeted by a giant dinosaur and that set the tone for the whole visit, I felt like I kept seeing dinosaur bones everywhere! It took me a moment to orient myself to the museum layout, but looking back it's pretty compact and I could've easily wandered and enjoyed most of the museum in a couple hours. I especially enjoyed how interactive the earth section was, and this is silly but sit on those rock-looking cushions - they are SO comfortable! The little planetarium area was also very cool, and I would consider seeing a show in there next time! The dioramas are by far the most beautiful/engaging I've seen, and with between the fish video cave and the outdoor animal area, I felt like I also got a mini trip to the aquarium and the zoo. Overall I had an amazing time and this spot is super baby/toddler friendly! Note: If you have ASTC membership, admission is included! As a non museum member, I'd recommend street parking. It's much cheaper than the flat rate garage fare.

There are SO MANY rooms and interactive things to do & keep busy! Ohio animals/bugs, planets, body system, fish, birds, coyotes, otters, etc!!!!! They have a movie theater that shows different short movies (~ 30-45 mins) & a planetarium - sadly we missed the shows for the planetarium... BUT we will be back!! We watched a T-Rex film that I will say, I thought was going to be dumb.... But again was actually so cool! Do not underestimate this museum! Plus Cuyahoga county residents get in for free on the weekends & according to their events page.. they hold SO many fun activities for kids and adults - like yoga! I cannot wait to come back & explore this place again (especially the planetarium) & participate in some of there events! Thank you for the sweetest staff & a great day!

I had family in town and their only request was to see the Rock Hall, so I made it happen. They are currently doing construction and we had to enter in a different entrance. The staff was so nice. I will be back, especially after the 2026 induction occurs and the exhibits change again. The gift shop was so fun also.

It's an interesting place, they did a nice job packing it full of relevant exhibits across many diverse corners of rock, covering decades across the six floors of the museum. They also have interactive sections, including a "garage" where you can play instruments to your heart's content. The layout was a bit odd, there was never a clear flow that people followed within each section. People were bumping into each other and moving in opposite directions pretty frequently. I was also frustrated by the lighting and displays; it was way too challenging to get a clear picture of certain displays because of bright lights nearby (or wandering bystanders jumping in front of you at random). Cool experience if you like rock/music, but don't expect to build a whole day around it. It's a quick 1-2 hour stop that won't make or break your time in Cleveland overall.

We came to Lorraine Ohio for a girls dance competition, and had an afternoon off. This museum is like no other I've ever visited. We started at the gift shop what an amazing display of artifacts, memorabilia, and Christmas decor, much of it styled out of the 1940s era. While there we had a pleasure of meeting the young lady who played the part of Santa's elf at Higby's department store. She had returned for a reunion weekend with a cast from the movie. The neighborhood looks very much the same the scenes in the movie. The house itself is beautifully restored inside and out. Unlike other museums, this one is extremely interactive. I crawled underneath the kitchen sink and had my kids take photos of me. My granddaughter put Randy's bib around her neck and gobbled away at a dinner plate. Upstairs we rattled around through the bedrooms, the bathroom (the decoder ring was sitting on the sink). I highly recommend this museum!
